  • Man Fort Lauderdale has some of the coolest rigs around

  • My dept. uses these! Every single unit except for the air/light unit has a quantum rig! Quantum tillers, hazmats, rescues, engines. it's a sea of quantums!! btw the airlight is an old ambulance

  • loving that Pierce Quantum!

  • for one JAZZBUTTERWORTH code two is illeagal

  • @gabec301 Since when has it become illegal to go Code 2?

  • @Spartan0189 You are so right. FF's can respond if without sirens if they want to. gabec301... don't quit know where his mind was.

  • @gabec301 ... And he states the "facts" just so! (Oh, & by the way, I rated you down!)

  • @gabec301 dude, get your facts straight. Code 2 is NOT illegal. What do you think PD officers due when they respond to a robbery or something where they wont to show up without the criminals knowing they are there................ :|

  • @AlexNAFD Here in NY, code 2 response is not allowed for fire trucks and ambulances, the siren must remain on when the trucks in motion, PD is exempt from this law. I guess it just depends on your states DOT laws.

  • @xx6pure6evil6xx its not illegal in florida

  • @xx6pure6evil6xx except for nyc. I know that to be true in nyc because I have seen many fire trucks from fdny there respond without any siren going.

  • @gabec301 I would not say its "illegal". Look at the state laws for emergency vehicels, before ya open your mouth. Although, in Pennsylvania, Code 2, is however, not illegal i dont think, but really frowned on.

  • isn't it the law if your lights our on your siren has to be on also?

  • @mattmucci Not really. Sometimes they won't use the siren for many reasons. Maybe the call was close by... Also, there used to be a code called code 2. Responding code 2 meant no siren. Lights only. And if you listen at the very end of the video, you will hear the guy turn on the siren.

  • thats why people dont pull over to the right, they get confused, sirens and lights or just lights what do we do. Here its lights and siren or nothing. I know places are different but I think its best to keep it simple

  • @firefighterfreak25 thats how it is here as well, for EMS priority one is lights and sirens with an engine responding, priority 2 is lights and sirens no engine responding, priority 3 is non emergency

  • CGshortman: couldn't agree more. As an officer I control the siren,Q and the air horn.Everybody responds differently to calls as to what noise making device they like to use or don't use. We have officers in our dept. that only use the Q and air horn >>>doesn't mean that it's wrong, just what they prefer.

  • Man that light bar is weak.

  • Comment removed

  • there are also many reasons why they could run code 2 like ramkidd122...they could responding to a scene thats not safe and hasnt been secured yet. we can all tell there deffinatly not responding to a fire. so let them do what they do...

  • @CGshortman12 yeah true if it wuz a code 3 maybe not a fire the ladder shouldnt have sirens cuz if itsa murder its maybe not cleared yet and the q makes to much loud noise

  • @CGshortman12 yea or responding to stage for something like an overdose or suicidal subject

  • @CGshortman12 Lights and Sirens is Lights and sirens, if there would be scene that was not safe they just should be gonig code 3

  • @Cetronia3 I'm not familar with codes down there but still where im from we go lights and sometimes sirens with early shutdown. I'm done bickering over something we have no control over, let the officer does what he does how he does it. end of story

  • they may had been responding code 2 (lights only and siren as needed) like at that red light then they would keep the siren off till the next one code 3 is full lights and sirens all the way

  • Good video and very nice fire vehicle. Many greetings from Germany, Daniel

  • i used to do ride time with them through paramedic school, they have one of the highest call volume's in the state

  • These guys run so many calls, they would probably rather not even run sirens. You could see the drivers were pulling over for just the lights alone. But I would guess the blew horns in the intersection to help break traffic.

  • Not sure why they waited so long to turn their sirens on, especially on a busy road like that.

Now there gonna cause chaos at that light because those people probably didn't see them coming, and differently didn't hear them.

  • @garf1eld029 Agreed...I mean Florida ain't got a steller driver's record.

  • nice engine!
