I drive an Audi because of Quattro, but its not magic, nor 'THE BEST" awd system. However for all the quattro is best or another brand lovers talk with some real info! Most haldex derived awd cars wont make it up because the power is not constant. Most of which are too much fwd bias. Rwd bias awd system are no better in this scenario. I'd say the best awd systems for this are quattro and subaru's symmetrical awd.
@LluisGuri Maybe that one yes, but few of the cars you talk about may be able to climb harder hills. You can look for anoter video (try to type "quattro", you should find it) where several different AWD cars try to climb a hill. And just the Audi A6 Allroad (the old one) is able to, beating much bigger cars!
ideea is, almost anycar, with traction on front wheels, with good winter tyres, like debica winter, can easely climb, especially if you got some speed when you hit the bigger bump. cheers
@ssaldamli You want, trust me.. I have an FF car,it's Opel and with good winter tires on ...anywhere you want. I have some cousins in one mountain village,I was easily climbing there in the middle of the hardest winter..and don't think that the tires are Dunlop,Michelin or something like that...Pretty cheap tires which are being produced in Slovenia..Winter tires are everything..you can have some nice fun with your car when you put right w.t.
@daramusbogdan if you try to drive a rear-wheel or front-wheel drive car up a ski slope, you will just slip back down the slope going sidewar. you want dynamic torque distribution combined with traction control to cope with situation like this. the open diff in front and rear-wheel drive car just send more power to the wheel with less, little or no traction. in other word, front and rear wheel drive car can't even move in slippery situation. let alone tackling a ski slope.
I can do the same with my Passat 3BG 4motion... seriously, I have already donne it.

Well, how you know when this video has recorded? It's not mentioned anywhere.
Once I was there in winter 2010 and saw sponsored Audi car there but that was different time this video has been recorded.

I would like to see you also drive 300 km/h, with that safety as audi allroad has...or with the same fuel consumption as audi...

you don't want to go uphill with a front-wheel driven car mate.... even with winter tires on.

@ssaldamli here, where this is filmed, we have proper winter tires so front-wheel drived cars go just well
