They believe it was formed by a short & and intense burst of VUV radiation. This could not have been done by forgers. Amount of VUV radiation needed to produce the image would be 34 thousand billion watts. Current tech available is several billion watts. The Vatican's response: Shroud is not a fake. "This inability to repeat (and therefore falsify) the image on the Shroud makes it impossible to formulate a reliable hypothesis on how the impression was made." They do not claim that it's authentic.
Also if you had read what the ENEA scientists actually said you would have realized that they merely produced "shroud like coloration" and NOT an actual image.

The vatican now says (according to the vatican newspaper) that science cannot explain the shroud (so they must believe it is not fake). If you look at my comment, I never said the ENEA scientists produced an image. Or that they said it was Jesus Christ. I said they doubt it is a fake. Look at the bright side, at least you are up to date on shroud info - and out of the 13th century

I think this video was very thought provoking, however, I would be interested in knowing what you think about NDE's "Near Death Experiences" They all seem to have similar ocurrances that are spoken about, which really raises the question about Sientific Facts. All function, working parts and mechanisms **always** have a maker. Biology is not exempt from the rules of science that everything has a cause that is equal to or greater than the function that's made. Science supports our Maker.

Why can't christians just say they base their beliefs on faith? Why can't they just say they believe the bible as the word of god? Why do they have to think have to prove something to non believers? It's all an assumed conclusion. A belief in god requires faith. Faith is an assertion of absolute conviction that is assumed independent of evidence, and which must be defended against all evidence to the contrary. That is christianity. Why do you force it into the realm of science? It does not work
