The temple was built in 1st century BC, when Armenia was the mightiest empire in the world. Do you mean roman slaves built it? Noop... Pure armenian architecture. Someone says it became sommer palace of the armenian kings after the christianity became national religion in Armenia. Actually it was the summer palace of the king tigran the great in 1st century BC, none others. Christian armenian king disliked pagan temples.

@ErebuniJerevan armenians became the first christian nation on earth in 304AD i think.... tigran the great was not christian because he lived durring 94AD...and yes u are right about tigran the great being the strongest kind back then.. not one of the strongest...but THE strongest king...he made armenia into The Great Armenia and made armenia go at its greated extent..sadly hardly anyone knows about this heroric king who has won many battles between the persians and romans..:(

Garni was pagan armenian temple dedicated to the armenian god og sun Mihr, not mithra or something. And to be clear, tample has helenistic features, but armenia has never been invaded by greeks, not sure where you'be taken that information...

Dude, please read your history. That temple was built by the Romans in Armenia after the Armenians helped Romans fight the Parthians under the king Tiridates of Armenia. The architecture is Greeko-Roman. Armenians did not have the technology to built such a building. It is an Armenian pagan temple built by the Romans. As a matter of fact it collapsed in a quake in 1679. The Russians put the thing back together in 1966 with the help of professor Buniatov.

The temple was bealt in 1st century BC and was the summer palace of the armenian emperor Tigranes 2nd the great. Parthia at that time was conquered by Armenian empire. What kind of technology do you need to build something like that? Man, you're pathetic. Armenians have allways througout human history been famous for their architectural skills.

@ErebuniJerevan A lot of technology. We are talking about the first century here. It was a gift from Romans to Armenians. At the time Armenians were Pagans. That was a temple to worship in. It became a summer home of the king after Christianity came to the country.
