@Marcel3006oo His name is Gary Gordon. He was an Army Delta who died at the Battle of Mogadishu. He received a metal of honor for his actions in that battle. He and his actions were portrayed in the movie Black Hawk Down, which is where this audio came from.

@Marcel3006oo he was a sniper who volunteered to protect the woonded soldiers trapped in the blackhawk in somalia while the rescue team was trying to reach them. He died in the battle, he is a hero.

@Marcel3006oo The soldier served during the Battle of Mogadishu and I think he left that message before he went to the battle. You should watch the movie Black Hawk Down if you haven't already. The solder reads that letter at the end of the movie. Black Hawk Down is a really good movie. :)

@b0g3yMan It's not the REAL Gary Gordon saying it, but what is being said IS real. It is a letter that the real Gary Gordon sent to his family, which is being read out by the actor who played Gary Gordon.

FYI......This song was sung by Denez Prezent ,,,,sings many celtic songs. and Hans Zimmer incorporated this...there is a segment in this by Lisa Gerrard of Gladiator fame...she sang the theme song for that movie.

Sick song. The thing is, people always say stuff like "why do these men have to die in battle" and "they die, unknowingly, because of the government". The thing is, these men know what they face... the know the risks, and its not the governments fault that they join. Its not conscription, its freedom. They fight because they want to, not because they need to. The only thing they need is stand up, and keep their honour, and fight side by side with their brothers...
