I've tested Serato 2.2 on my Toshiba T5300, 2GB RAM, Go7300. Result:
Windows 7 32-bit: WON'T WORK. Many glitches, breaks, still USB red light. even on 10 ms buffer, impossible to run Live. Personally I thing is some issue with driver, cause only 13% of USB work flow has been used.
Windows XP 32-bit: No Issue: Red light pops up very seldom. Almost no breaks with sound buffer set to 1 ms. Driver utilised on 21% of usb work-flow.
@djecek i got it to work on windows 7 but u must use serato 2.0 for it to work. Specs: Sony VAIO E Series, 4GB RAM AMD Athlon II 2.2 GHZ 320GB HD Drive
@jmlbrns45 i have the same lap top hwcan get the serato for using whit external mixer? i downloaded it and it just have one channel and no efx and no vinyl display
I RUN A ALIENWARE M15 X WITH A i5 processor....but i run video SL(which is a whole different ballgame) and never had a issue...windows 7 is my o.s. ..64 bit...maybe it's the user..................... just saying
@Sweetnsour75. In this test I was using the Dual Core chip. They are working on the problem however it may never be resolved which was the case with the AMD chips. If you want to keep up to date on this stuff check out imixmag .com
@Sweetnsour75 The problem isn't windows 7, its the new intel i series chips (i3, i5, i7). Serato is aware of the issue. If you have an AMD chips are not supported by Serato.
Ive got a dell xps 1340, running windows 7 ultimate x64.(Fresh install) And ive got a lot of drop outs. drivers install fine. but just get a lot of drop outs. and froze when i took the power out once aswell.
The problem lies in Serato still not having true drivers for Windows 7 64bit. Their support is very weak when it comes to Windows 7. At the present time I'm considering Traktor.
I have the same computer this guy has and Windows 7 is not able to run Serato Live with a SL1 box. Windows 7 is still Windows. If you can afford a Mac, buy one.
I have been running Windows XP and Serato with no problems. Windows 7 is a very good OS. Serato just needs to create a Windows 7 version for scratch live.
I seriously appreciate this video which may possibly help me decide wether if I wanna take a chance buying one of these windows laptops or continue with a macbook pro. Can you please get back to me and let me know how your windows software been running handling serato lately? I would appreciate it fam.
To record up REALLLY Close to the screen you need to stop the recording then select the flower Icon (in camera quick settings) so you can get the camera to focus (when you're lightly tapping on the shutter button), it'll focus, and the words on your laptop screen will not be blurred. Just a small tip from a SSL deejay too =D
Thanks...I'll do that next when I review Serato Running on a New Dell Dimension 15" i5 Laptop. It will be running on Windows 7 64. Lets see how it works on this Laptop.
I can't comment on battery life since I'm always plugged in when using. I would hold off on buying these laptops because the new Intel Core i5, i3 chips are already starting to flow out. Wait for these new chips.
Serato Seems to be taking their sweet time delivering an optimized version of Scratch Live for Windows 7. On January 14, 2010 Ableton and Serato have some breaking news coming out. Lets see what they have to offer. So far the only truly stable Windows OS for Serato is XP.
Yea i have a hp laptop (windows 7 ofcourse) ya i got mine yesterday (lol im 14!) yea my dad is a DJ so like him im Very Very interested in Music so he installed Scratch live and idk how to use the hot keys 4 it he gave me the instructions (installed it) but i cant seem to find it... but anyway um imma watch ur vid and if it helps yea.
Began getting usb dropouts and now its not stable enough to use at an event. Does anyone have a laptop running Scratch Live and Windows 7 with no issues? thanks
just for kicks i've tested 3 different laptops running on windows 7 and one tower as well for my brother since he is a big pc guy. so far, the 3 laptops lagged a bit, usb light flashed, and on 2 the program actually froze. the tower gave me some problems as well, even though it lagged a big no drop outs happened. the only laptops i use and rely on completely are two, and yes one is a macbook pro lol, the second one is a allienware running on windows7
