12.8 ppg, 8.9 apg, 98% freethrow shooting 40% 3 pointer. A point guard is suppose to knock down jumpers and free throws something Rondo vastly needs to work on if he wants to be above average.
Um too many PGs have a scoring mentallity and that kills their teams. There is no way that Calderon is anywhere near the defensive player that Rondo is...Rondo is better at steals, assists, rebounding, etc. Who gives a shit about the jumper.....
i don't understand WHY you hate on him so much. some people are just great scorers while others are great on defense. the interesting part is that even if rondo is a very mediocre shooter, he can still manage a triple double on any given night. a jumper is something that can be and will be worked on. you can't judge a point guard just by their shooting ability, especially when they're more of a distributor PG than a shoot-first PG.
when rondo gets a jump shot, he'll be unstoppable and you know it. i mean, for now all of his points might come from layups and whatnot, but he was still one of two point guards during the past regular season to average more than 50% field goal percentage.
Rondo is a point guard, they don't always have to be the ones with great shooting. And right now he's a role player. Don't compare him with someone else who plays a different role in their team.
Oh and look at Tony Parker.. a few years back, all he did was drive to the hoop, and the Spurs were successful. He didn't even have a jump shot until 1-2 years ago.
37% shooting against Magic that is. Thats something a below average player gets. You know why he shot 37%? Because he couldn't abuse the paint dwight stuffed his crap to another dimension and he has one of the most terrible jump shots out of any pg in the league.

He held every single one of those point guards to below their respective season averages in points and assists, while significantly raising his point and assist totals in the process. So a player who steps up his game against the best in the league is shitty?
Chris Paul, Williams, Billups are constantly double teamed. Rondo is never double teamed, thus leaving him with more clear shots and anybody can get assists if you got those kind of players as teammates. Rondo will never run a team like what Rose/Billups/Williams/and Paul has. He needs a damn good squad to lift the weight off his shoulders. Who shoots the possible winning shot at end of games??? Rondo??? Fuck no.
Well, if I cant sway you those stats I put in my last comment, than nothings going to change your mind. Keep in mind that KG was out for more than half those games, so teams were paying attention to Rondo even more on that road trip. Sure, Rondo won't take the gamewinning shot on this particular Celtic team (CP3 wouldn't either if he was on Pierce's team), but down the line, Rondo is going to be the star in Boston, and he might hit a few gamewinners. you dont need to have a good shot to be mentioned with them, shooting is just one part of the game.. there are other parts of the game that paul, harris, and nash arent as good as rondo is.... does that mean that they cant be mentioned with rondo? no it doesnt

Aight,
1st. Rondo doesn make that many long range shots in the game. he takes it in. no excuses on "they worry about the big 3s leaving him open".
2nd. Having good players on your team doesn mean you will get assits. How come Jameer Nelson didn't get as many assists when he has Hedo Dwight and Lewis? he doesn't suck either, he just doesn get as many assits as Rondo.
3rd. He avgs almost as many rebs as any top guards. fyi, Deron doesn get shit in rebs.
4th. Ranked 2nd in steals

This guy is great and will be even better! I mean he cant shoot and everybody keeps saying this still he has like 7/10 from the field and is flirting with tripple doubles at that age! Easy maths, he'll get more confidence every year and the numbers will rise every year too! Go Celtics!

BTW, heres his average line from the last road trip, where he went up against Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, Deron Williams, Steve Nash, Chauncey Billups, and Baron Davis in that order, with no shitty point guards in between: 19 ppg, 9 apg, 8 rpg. He held every single one of those point guards to below their respective season averages in points and assists, while significantly raising his point and assist totals in the process. So a player who steps up his game against the best in the league is shitty?

Chris Paul, Williams, Billups are constantly double teamed. Rondo is never double teamed, thus leaving him with more clear shots and anybody can get assists if you got those kind of players as teammates. Rondo will never run a team like what Rose/Billups/Williams/and Paul has. He needs a damn good squad to lift the weight off his shoulders. Who shoots the possible winning shot at end of games??? Rondo??? Fuck no.

Well, if I cant sway you those stats I put in my last comment, than nothings going to change your mind. Keep in mind that KG was out for more than half those games, so teams were paying attention to Rondo even more on that road trip. Sure, Rondo won't take the gamewinning shot on this particular Celtic team (CP3 wouldn't either if he was on Pierce's team), but down the line, Rondo is going to be the star in Boston, and he might hit a few gamewinners. He hit a few in college, so you never know.

Rondo fked up plenty of times in current series that may have costed boston the game. Just leave it to ray and paul at the end. Even derrick rose is more impressive. Rondo is good. But everyone thinks he is the best...thus makes him ovverated.

That is pretty stupid considering Rondo has taken over and is basically, averaging a triple double. How you can say that he's overrates is beyond logic. Just because he doesn't take the last shot doesn't mean he's not awesome. The other night, he had 19 assists to ZERO turnovers. How has Rose been more impressive than that? He turns it over quite often and is getting killed on the defensive end.

Hes overrated I'll say it he can't even shoot above 65% from the freethrow line and he averaged 40% field goal percentage in the playoffs. That isn't going to win you games and neither is the 37% field goal he shot against Magic lol.
You know why hes overrated? This kid is going on 4 years pro and is a horrible jump shooter, horrible free throw shooter and averages 11.9 a game. I can give you 15+ point guards names who are better then Rondo and get no credit.

Lebron can't shoot free throws for crap but no one says anything to him. Plus, there are several PGs that have bad jump shots. Also, maybe, you should realize that PGs aren't supposed to be jump shooters or scorers.They're supposed to get their teammates involved.

Dude thats because Lebron puts up 30+ points a game buddy and besides Lebron has been criticized for his free throw shooting and guess what this year he shot a career high 75% from the line. I don't see Rondo improving anywhere on his jump shooting or free throws. You keep saying ooh rondo got 15 assits ohhh he got 16 rebounds.. who cares when he averaged 11 a game on 37 percent shooting. Lets end this now if rondo doesn't put up at least 15+ ppg next year and 70%+ and improve that jump shot

Retard I said hes going on his 4th year meaning starting next year he will be in his 4th year. He's had 3 years to develop a jumper and become a better freethinker shooter but hes done neither. The only thing hes improved in his 3 year career is his assists.
Rondo averaged 11ppg on 37 percent and 60% from the freethrow line now run along buddy you've been owned. Come back and tell me thats good and if you do I'm done arguing with you because it'll become even clearer you know nothing about Bball
