It is defintely a best value for money diver you can get today, once you get used to it's dimensions, and it is also a very impressive and appealing. Has anyone noticed that, at twelve o'clock, the lume marker is sligtly out of position, maybe a quarter of a milimeter to the right? This is even more noticeable in the SS version
I purchase the same watch about 2 months ago, and last night it stopped working. I tried placing the watch under light thinking the watch needed to be recharge. I think i may have to send this watch in for a repair.. I am just disappointed, the watch starting acting up after 2 months. Is there any i can try before sending the watch in for repair.
I just returned my breitling with rubber strap, and went back to my ss eco zilla. I just couldnt not justify 3000 for a dive watch that looked very much like my eco zilla and was no more accurate. I think i payed 260.00 for the zilla, how could you go wrong.
The reason for the "knurled" bezel is so you can take the rotating bezel off to clean. There is a O-ring under the ratcheting bezel. If you do dive in this watch you need to clean under the bezel so the salt and sand will not hurt the watch or the O-ring.
are you sure? 1 second per day is quite a lot for a quartz movement. A good quartz movement (like a Citizen) is expected to be within 15 seconds per month.
I have a "cheap" Fossil that picks up maybe 5-8 seconds a month.
High Accuracy Quartz, Like ETA Thermoline or CITIZEN, should be within +- 10 seconds a year. I second a day is not as good as these but it is predictable and co$t a lot less than these HAQ watches.
If you are within 15 secs a month keep the watch.
Google "eta thermoline" for a good post about quartz accuracy at Watchuseek.
I knew thermally regulated quartz movements were good to 15 seconds a year (and the chronomasters to 5), but I didn't know all citizen quartz movements were that accurate. That's pretty amazing. I'm picking up a Calibre AP1000 moon phase in a little while.
Wow, great watch and great video quality. I have to say this is one of the better quality video's on Youtube. Even when not viewed in High definition the quality is amazing! Thanks guys and keep up the good work!!!
I have seen on other reviews how the outside knurl , The one with all the writing on it can unsrew. Question what is the purpose for this? ANy answers ?
Yes, I miss mr. Cantrell too ... hope he'll make more reviews in future :-) But this video has some of the best HD quality and camera movements - nicely done!
Hey, guys. I'll make more videos in the future. I'm looking at a watch right now that would make for a fantastic review. I just need to get a camera as nice as James's. Mine doesn't do HD.
Great Christian. I can recommend some small and full HD digital cameras from Sony: Cyber-shot models DSC-W270, or the even smalle T-serie DSC-T500 or DSC-T900. They are made for still photos but take really good quality video as well - and you can get them for around $200-$300. /Regards, Peter
PS: James, I do like your review of the Ecozilla, especial how you comments on practical functions of the size and robustness of the case. That's good to know. I might get this one for my dive watch collection my self. Thanks!

That ring around the bezel is removable...But I'm asking myself, what's the purpose?

Always enjoy your reviews...but how can you review a dive watch, especially the 'zilla, without mentioning that beautiful blue lume?

I own the steel version with steel bracelet. The "eco-zilla" is a great watch.
With the all steel version you know you are wearing a tool watch. Quite natty and functional.
I like watches that have their crowns in unconventional positions, 4 o'clock, 9 o'clock, 11 o'clock and this watch fills the bill in this regard.
The quartz movement gains about 1 second a day in my observations. This is good performance in my opinion.
Buy one, you will not regret the purchase.

Good choice. The Swiss are expensive for that level of watch. Citizen is a real good value and in these hard times that is what we all want... VALUE.
Best wishes, Salmo
