i prefer the visuals of red river but the charatcers and gameplay were better in dr. in rr your squad has a pre-determined look. if everyone is a rifleman they look identical but in dr all the characters in co-op or the story were random so you never had clones and the class system seemed kinda dumb in rr mostly though b/c i just used the rifleman class. but the last stand mode was awesome in rr for sure.

Well, this convinced me to order Red River. Dragon Rising had 'some' good elements, but is wasn't as realistic as people are saying. Manys the time I shot an enemy in the head and there was no reaction. Plus the AI of your team was dumb as fuck. GFX were just shite in Dragon Rising. The game had a horribly unrealistic sepia tone to it also. Overall did not like it. Red River looks like good - if not quite great - GFX. Yet to play Red River, so can't comment on realism or AI etc.

Substantial difference in explosion/sound effects. I noticed they added dynamic shadows, better HDR and environments, etc. Installing now, very excited. Especially since Dragon Rising was such a big disappointment to me.

Dragon rising was better for the simple reason that it stayed true to the simulator genre but red river did not.

theres one big thing in Dragon Rising you can drive so many different vehicles yet in red river you cant which is disappointing yet realistic also you dont have a versus mode but i was looking forward to driving an abrams but the campaign on red river is so much more better than dragon rising

Red river is far better than dragon rising when you shoot you shoot your team in dr they take it like its not even hurtin but the opposite in rr. Now when u run in dr your gun waddles like a duck but in rr it doesnt. Red river is better than dragon rising bc everything was redone

@OtagoMark That's because you went into the game with Dragon Rising's control scheme instead of trying to learn a new layout. Red River is waaaay better. Instead of a few A.I. with cement for brains, you get intelligent A.I. with improved pathfinding. The command radial menu is simplified, and each class has a first aid kit (There aren't any Medics in the USMC, only Corpsman, and they usually only treat major wounds that make it impossible to fight).

@bungie17 Bad Company 2 is, what I like to call, a cross between Flashpoint (The realism factor) and Call of Duty (The retard, OH LOOK AT ME IM GONNA KILL EVERYONE WITH MY KNIFE factor). It's the best of both worlds, but I still like the tactical shooting style of the Operation Flashpoint series better than Battlefield
