This is not normal behavior, It is a behavior that has been allowed to continue, and is rewarded by not stopping it. I disagree with commentors that schnauzers are insainly stupid, but so loyal. I have had schnauzers for years, and have NEVER had even one display that kind of behavior, and if it did it wouldn't for long because I wouldnot put up with it, and would not reward it, as obviously this one has been!
