  • I have the album with the bonus tracks Cycle Of Life, Patiently, Scream At the Walls, Russian Roulette acoustic, and Beautiful Acoustic cd kicks ass this version Of Lies is better than the album version its a lot heavier

  • Yea I like this version a lot better!! And well I love this sonnggg :3 10 Years is very true to themselves...which is good. They haven't changed for anyone.

  • Yea I give this a couple up!!

  • WOAH I loooved the other version..but woah this ones like way more awesome

  • The record company pushed them to hurry up and make this album when they didn't want to. They wanted to take their time on it.

In this case, I think they should "Shoot it Out" sooner, if the demos are better than the final product.

But, all in all, it could be the studios doing saying "we like it this way better". They might not of had a choice...or maybe they did. Who knows?

Maybe someone should ask Jesse at the next show.

  • its very weird that i can't find the album version.... i like this one but there is no video on youtube with the album version

  • this should have released this song!

  • Usually demo versions are better than the mastered versions -- more raw. But, they did do a chord alteration in the "he who lusts through life" which sounds better in terms of composition, then dragging the same chord through the beginning. I like the softer alternate beginning to counter balance the harder chorus. Of course, you're going to have those who just like the edginess of hearing distortion with palming... and the ones who think that better means of recording are label intervention.

  • This is actually way better than the version they produced. I'm kinda pissed now

  • @sillytragedy I agree, lol. I was so pissed when I got the CD and this version was replaced with an over done studio version!

  • @shaunholguin is there a way I can get the demo versions from you?

  • @sillytragedy Hey Jesse fought to get this version on the album but he lost that battle.

  • @sillytragedy Yeah I agree. I like this version better. They're still my favorite band and I'll forgive them for their mistake, haha.

  • Where did you find this one?

  • 2:33 Awesome part!! I wish it was in the original! D:

  • I have to agree as well. The demo sounds better even like this they tried to make it too showy and clean. This version has a more grungy dark sound to it, which fits the song a lot better.

  • why is every one upset about this one is not on the cd? they probaly changed it to fit the album better. and now they are making an album specifically for their heavier stuff.

  • i wonder if they'll put this vewrsion on there Feeding the Wolves CD lol. i kinda like it :3 my opinion

  • i like this heavier version better then the other one!

  • This version is so much better than the album version, it is a shame that this didn't make it on!

  • It's good in its own way but I prefer the album version.

More songs like this on the new album!

  • lets all not forget, they are writing a new album as we speak.... and they have said themselves, it will be a heavier side of 10 Years. Hell Yeah !!!

  • @hasekrocks and it was....the BEST ALBUM I HAVE EVER HEARD....the one album where i love EVERY single song unlike all the others....amazing

    10 years for life

  • This version is awesome! I'm a huge 10 Years fan but I'm not afraid to be a critic. I was a little disappointed by Division. And this song is perfect like this. Not the new version of it. =(

  • totally agree.. this version was so much better

  • wow u Suck....BOth Songs are good but the otherr one i think is better.

  • this version is so much better...i was pissed they put the other version on the album

  • @Caligamecock @UWFTV @Caligamecock yeah wtf was with that? : o I was so pissed off, this sounded like something that'd be straight off the first album but then they changed it and it sounded completely different. I remember having this song on my Myspace Profile for as long as I remember. I hate it when bands give you a great song and they release the final version and it's nowhere near as better as the demo or EP. Social Syn did the same thing with they're song "The Running" -_-

  • I liked Division, but it lacked some of the earthy-sounds, diversity and power that The Autumn Effect and even some of Killing All that Holds You had, in my opinon. I like this version, I haven't heard it since it was on their Myspace. Completely forgot about it.

  • i agree The Autumn Effect did have some earthy sounds to it and i think thats why i loved every song on it.

  • can somebody put the whole album on youtube

  • im so mad they didnt keep this version for the CD, they really softened up in Division

  • Wow, brian pulling out the double pedal on the bass drum!!

  • I don't much like the direction that 10 Years went in with Division. It's way too... soft. THIS track is classic 10 Years, but the track that ended up on the CD was really bad, in my opinion. They should've nixed the new producer and stuck with Elvis or whatever his name was.

  • they said their next album will be their heaviest yet :)

  • when do they say it will come out?

  • when i saw them play last week i asked them and he said they were thinking about a year from now is when it will be all finished and in stores.

  • So long time :/ i cant wait!

  • o yeah it leaked off myspace and there knoxville area demos as well, being in alabama, i have a pipeway to that shit man, anyone in the southeast should, thats were they love the most

  • Yeah I'm way off.

  • When was it released?

  • When was this album released?

  • this version is much harder than the one in the album

  • Well no asked you now did we?

  • this songs is amazing! i don't know if it's better than the version now, but this is definately one of their greatest songs

  • i wish i had it. i love the songs from that album that i've heard. do they still sell it?

  • they never realesed this one on anything, it leaked out of ther knoxville recording studio and then started to circle, still better than the original, and the lyrics are different in some parts

  • this version is fucking awesome!

  • i found out that this version was put on the album accidently for some copies.

  • did you really?

    if so how?

  • its on wikipedia and one of the band members wrote that some copies of the cd had this version on it

  • Did you happen to get one of these?

  • sadly no

  • Like this one much better than the album track. PAY THE PRICE screaming in the background is the best part.

  • They really should have used this version.

  • I know! I already tabbed this song when I thought it was the album version (which, to me it was). Well can anyone send me the actual album version?

  • What's the difference between this Demo and the album version?

  • this version is a lot darker, so to speak, than the album version. there's no screaming on the album. I like this one better

  • love the screamo in the bg

  • That is not what it is called, it is just called screaming, Screamo is a sub-genre of rock music, not a sound, screaming is a style of vocals, please do not act stupid.

Oh yeah and 10 Years is Alternative Metal, just clearing that up.

  • i love this song

  • can you send me this?

this one is so much better than

    the album version they actually

    show their talents here

  • I think the song does stick out regardless of re-recording it. They should have stuck with this version in my opinion.

  • I agree, and this version is a bit better, Jesse agreed but the rest of the band members all voted for the new one.

  • .. So why did they?

  • I think this is better than the album version

  • Sounds kinda like Tool's stuff from early 90s :)

Awesome song, best on the album IMO.

  • who is screamin jesse?

  • Their new album is quite good but I still find myself listening much more to The Autumn Effect and Killing All That Holds You. Just because they're a little heavier and I find that more of my taste. However, I don't understand the band's overall change in appearance, and I'm not just referring to Jesse's haircut, who goes to concert wearing a tie(?). Not too long ago they looked more "grunge", more "rock"-like. Now they look as thought they're trying to appeal to 13-year-old girls.

  • Who wants to hear the same album over and over from the same band? I don't. I like where they went with "Division" and it shows that they are not a 1-dimensional band.

In regards to your statement about Jesse wearing a tie. This is what he said about it. "It is in regards to the song '11 am.' It's showing that there are a lot of people who are stuck in dead in jobs from 9-5. I wear the suit and tie on stage cause I'm saying, 'Yeah, I'm wearing a suit and tie as well, but look at my job...'"

  • I adore the demo version, I like the album version as well though. Both have a slightly different version of the lyrics. I dunno, jury is out on this one, I can't tell which I like more.

But I can definitely say I love their new album, and I don't care that they toned it down a bit, because a lot of people never quite understood the message of TAE. With Division they can get their message out, and have people understand it at the same time.

    ♥10 Years♥

  • Man, this demo version is better than the album version. Three reasons why I think...

    1. They took the double bass drum out of Chorus which starts when he says "price" and "demise."

    2. They took the screams out of the bridge.

    3. It is slightly less heavy overall...which i'm just gonna be picky about;)

It's still an excellent album, and I think it and TAE are about the same in my mind, different, but I like each equally.

    Stupid Universal though....

  • lol its not the label's fault..i listened to their rockline interview and they said that they changed it because they thought it fit better with the flow of the album...but Jesse liked the demo better lol (so do i)

  • Yep sorry everybody...I ignorantly blamed the label for influencing the change. That interview explains the change very well. But....I still like this one better;) hehe

  • I completely agree. I prefer the demo over the CD version. But they are both nice to listen to, and if I'm feeling in the mood for mellow music, I'd go for the Album version. I guess it all really depends on the mood. =P

  • I am still a little skeptical of this new album. Anyone else? It seems as though the record company has made 10 Years "conform" to the corporate rock formula, thus stealing a little of 10 Years' creativity.

  • I kind of agree, check their myspace and read the latest interview on their blog where they said wanted a different sounding album than the autumn effect but with easier lyrics to understand

I also think thats part of the reason why its called division

  • The album version is way different...I think I rather the demo version better.

  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time!!! I love it so much, but I can't find it on LimeWire, ugh!

  • Ya know what sucks? this demo is better than the actual version that made the record. I was worried that they would tweak this demo a little bit, and unfortunately, they tweaked it for the worse.

  • This is true...this version is totally different then the album version...Although the one on the album is very nice. This one rocks more.

  • totally agree...it just makes you wonder WHY they decide to change things; like..who decided that in this situation? the band? the producer? the label? lol

  • Ya im pretty pissed actually lol...I hope they release the other one...In good quality..this one is just ripped in shitty quality.

  • i dont know how you guys come up with such great music. it really makes me want to be able to see you guys again...jesse, you have the best voice a band could ask for, the drummer, the Guitarist, the bass player, it all comes together perfectly, you guys really are an awesome band, i look forward to the future album...

  • once i heard this song, i instantly fell in love with it. it is an awsome song, great lyrics, and amazing vocals, can't wait for their albume to come out so i can buy it.

  • I have Killing All that holds you if someone wants to download it from a torrent. Great band by the way!

  • I still think thats their best album.

All the songs i heard from it are amazing.

  • I definitely have to get this when it comes out.

  • 10 years is an amazing band. Tool / APC are two of my favorite bands and if the person who was talking so disgustingly toward everyone on here really listened to tool then they wouldn't be talking down to everyone, this person is simply proving a point in tools song "right in two" . . "silly monkeys give them thumbs they forge a blade and where there's one your bound to divide it right in two." if you really listened to tool you'd know this and wouldnt sound so pathetic.

  • Wasn't talking down to anyone if you mean me.

  • Tool and APC are both great bands. Why are people comparing 10 Years to two of the greatest bands ever? I don't think its fair to them. However I'm going to go ahead and do it too anyway...I don't think they sound much like Tool but they do sound similar to APC. I also don't think they are a rip of of either but are their own thing and sound great. Does anyone know where to get or if its possible to still get Killing All That Holds?

  • Dude, I've been looking for Killing All That Holds You and it's driving me freaking nuts because I can't find it anywhere. I've only heard two songs off of that album, and both songs blew me away. Absolutely crazy, man.

But I wish you the best of luck finding the album. =)

  • If it's so sickening, why are you still here? Go away.

  • I love tool, but you're an idiot. 10 Years has far better lyrics than most bands today, not cliché.

  • 10 years is no comparison to tool. find me a song better than aenima or eulogy

  • I can easily find a song better than Eulogy: At A Loss is a much better song than Eulogy. I haven't heard Aenima, so I can't say for sure, but if it's anything like Eulogy, than I'm pretty sure that At A Loss is much better. 10 Years is better than Tool, in my opinion.

  • 10 years is just another band like all the others you hear on the radio. Same corny and cliche lyrics that don't mean anything. I like 10 years too, but it's just downright insulting to tool to be compared to a mediocre band like 10 years. sorry bro

  • Yes, but it's also downright insulting to compare SlipknoT to Megadeth, it's the people that do it. I have never heard 10 Years comepare themselves to Tool. Fans (of both bands) have compared sounds and lyrics of both bands. I am a huge fan of 10 Years and you can't say that their lyrics don't have a meaning. And I haven't quite heard as many bands like 10 Years as you imply. 'All the other bands?' I haven't heard but one: APC. As much as you'd hate to admit it, APC does sound a bit like 10Y....

  • Who the hell compared slipknot to megadeth? That's a horrible comparison

  • Some idiot on a SlipknoT video on YouTube.... but that's not the point. The point is that people come up with stupid comparisons. Once I even heard someone compare Simon and Garfunkel to MuDvAyNe. People will be people and they will always compare the wrong two things. In my opinion, 10 Years is more like APC than Tool, and I don't think Jesse's voice is anything like Maynard's. Maynard's is more strong. Jesse's is pretty soft and melodic. Sound similar but not enough for the two to be compared.

  • I'm a TOol lover, and a 10 years Lover, fu all who think ones better than the other. Get a life and stop dissing

  • Im a fan of tool, a fan of APC. yea, 10 years was influenced by them, but 10 years has their own style, and arent similar to Tool or APC. lizzard, by you running off at the mouth, you are giving 2 very good bands a bad rep. People like you need to stifle your lips with a gag, or some other foreign object

  • i dont know about tool, but a perfect circle and 10 years are really good. i mostly listen to metal but Brian Vodinh is one of my favorite drummers.

and just so you dont seem like an idiot, there are TONS of bands better than tool.(bet you cant guess who that comment was for *rolls eyes*)

  • tools pretty decent not really my style of metal though.

the are a bit like apc but still again nothing musically other than the whole ambient feels the get going.

prefer 10 years but all 3 bands are great when i dont feel like listening to heavier stuff

  • i know what you mean, i only listen to a few apc songs, but the ones i listen to i love, and even though i mostly listen to heavy metal, 10 years is one of my favorite bands.

  • Tool, A Perfect Circle, and 10 Years are really good bands.

Can't wait to get the album.

  • I love 10 years and tool. But they sound nothing alike I dont know why they think that but no, nothing alike

  • I have heard this song has changed for the new album, which has been delayed until may 13th

  • This is amazing, I can not write songs as good as these guys, its unbelieveable what some can do

  • This song is pure..Poetry!...I love it so much!

  • When I first heard All Your Lies I absolutely loved it. Then I heard Beautiful. In my opinion, Beautiful knocked All Your Lies out, but Still have room in my heart for both. :)

  • Yeah, amazing.

The songs they sing says alot about them.

  • Song is off the chain.. Cant wait to get the Cd

  • WELL THEN I HAVE TO LOCK THE CHAIN UP! just kidding 10 years penetrates Tools. Meaning 10 years is way better!

  • Ok...you like Tool better than 10 Years-we get it.

    YAY CAPS LOCK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ahahahaha, ur gay dude, raeshanna's got ur number buddy

  • all this talk about how much better tool is and u have jimmy eats world videos posted all over yer pro? 10 years is an awesome band as is tool. they will draw comparisons due the their lyrical content and great vocalists, btw i was in HS when opiate first came out ty

as far as comparison who is better. its a toss up. tool went through that odd phase and i lost respect for their live shows. it was refreshing to see 10,000 days come out and put them back where they belong. both are great bands

  • Your English has been pardoned. This band is amazing, you are right. Pure poetry.

  • Jesse Hasek is a beastly vocalist and lyricist... I love all of his work that he has done with this band so far... This is my favorite song from them by far...

  • kick-ass song...awesome fucking band

  • these guys rule in concert. i saw them in new orleans at the house of bules with evans blue. sick show.

  • I really like "Beautiful" but I think this should have been their 1st single instead.

You can hear the influence in this song from touring with all those heavier bands last year.

  • this song rocks harder, but beautiful has a very "hit" charm into it as a new single.

  • Great band, great song! Hope that the new album will be great too!

  • aqesome fucking song

  • I can't wait until April! I'm desperate to hear more of their songs

  • i like beautiful and all

but i like this 1 hella better!!!

10 years is the best band out there

  • dude let me get this on lime wire man!

  • i jus got this song offa limewire yesterday

  • Liar! i tried to do it and the song didn't appear on lime wire! it was a fraud!

  • ok umm.... no? i got the song on my ipod. maybe u didnt put in the same words as me? but i got it. i dont no how the hell ur gonna kall me a liar. u had best check urself.

  • What words did you use?

  • ♥I love this song! Can't wait until the album comes out. I wish they would set up a tour in Canada soon.

  • These guys are awesome, can't wait for a new tour!

I heard this song when they first put it up on their MySpace page a few months ago but I'm still loving it.

  • This is a great song and I am sooooo excited for the album to come out! Thank you!
