i've seen crashes like that before, but can you pull this one off: hit the wall at daytona off of turn 2 (speedway) and get tagged in the bumper to knock your car completely sideways, then turn it completely sideways the other way before you hit the inside wall, then get back on track and slide back and forth 7 times each time getting at least 45 degrees sideways each slide and then save the car and go on to win the race. I did this truly accidentaly earlier today.

I did race on the weekends when I was in the Army (enlisted), and Gran Turismo is just an exaggeration of some of the characteristics of those cars, but taken often, too far. I paid $300 for the chance to drive a REAL ford GT around a track in georgia, and it was nothing like what turismo puts it as, even on Pro physics.

Yea, you can check the official GT website. On the news section about GT5, there's one thing that talks about the new features and some of them being damage to ALL cars and rollover as well
If the roll over feature is true, that is awesome. Have been dealing with those unrealistic "flat plain" body movements when the cars go airborne for way too long.
GT needs these kind of evolutionary features. Otherwise it risks just becoming " The Ultimate Driving Picture Show". Lots of polished glamor, but no beef.

while damage modeling would be great, I dont see how GT (or any game) not having it is necessarily detrimental. In the real world, anything other than a slight bump would render a car undriveable. If GT had damage modeling thats realistic, people would complain its too annoying, if it had damage modeling that is Forza-esque, people would deride its lack of realism. Lose-lose situation there.
FM3...no shift animations (all the modern games with cockpit view have it!!), still 8 miserable cars per race (even for le mans), no day/night, no weather. Good video... but tyre sounds and engine noise (some not all) are rubbish tinny and harsh sounding. Demand BETTER SOUND IN GT5

@shit311 Consequences are what makes dangerous activities exciting. Remove the danger, and the excitement goes with it. Why would anyone make a fuss about driving 200mph if you could hit something dead on, and nothing broke or got hurt? It would be what we all drove on the highway if that was the case...

while damage modeling would be great, I dont see how GT (or any game) not having it is necessarily detrimental. In the real world, anything other than a slight bump would render a car undriveable. If GT had damage modeling thats realistic, people would complain its too annoying, if it had damage modeling that is Forza-esque, people would deride its lack of realism. Lose-lose situation there.

Actually, GT5 has a damage system. The prologue came out before the damage system was created. That's why there are no crashes in GT5:P

FM3...no shift animations (all the modern games with cockpit view have it!!), still 8 miserable cars per race (even for le mans), no day/night, no weather. The "definitive racing game of this generation"? FAIL! You know why they didn't include all that stuff? Because otherwise the game couldn't run at 60 FPS. Double failure!
