Check out Live videos on 1994 with Satriani, he outplays Ritchie at the time in every way.

Blackmore is not only a great guitarist but a great person as well. I've had the joy of talking to him personally... and he is just so like a regular guy as if he hadn't written the greatest riff in the history of music. He is clearly joking here... @rondoliomercutio In what way is that poor? If you want to say that it's poor because it is easy to play, think again. Anyone can play it but not compose it. Intro to Beethoven's 5th symphony is very simple and easy to play but it is still one of the best compositions ever. It is catchy and recognizable and, correct me if I'm wrong, that is the goal.

Blackmorewas the supreme practical joker in Purple and pulled a chair out from underneath Gillan who fell ten feet back into the orchestra pit and cracked his head - according to witnesses Gillan has never been the same since - Blackmore might be a great guitar player but he is a grade A+ asshole

@BartSmith85 sorry about the delayed response, I read it somewhere in a biography, the comment related to Gillan being affected psychologically by the fall, either way it was a really nasty thing to do to someone. It's kind of disappointing to hear that your hero has flaws. I love Blackmore's playing in the mark 2 lineup, although I did see them live in Adelaide on their perfect strangers tour and very disappointed with Ritchie, nice wig though hehe

He refused to and a bouncer was called in. So, being Blackmore, he decided to throw the whiskey in the guards face. -_- He ran, the guard caught up, and beat the shit out of him. Lol! He's majorly chilled out now that he's with Candice Night though. Doesn't forgive his young asshole self though. : /

THe wankers having their heads up Blackmore's ass, is thriving on this video though, it is obvious. Blackie deserve every jab Gillan has taken on him from 1993 until recent years. Don't blame the man one bit. As Jon Lord put it, Ritchie by the late 80's, had become the thorn in the band's foot. Check out Live videos on 1994 with Satriani, he outplays Ritchie at the time in every way.

The proof of what a wanker Blackmore had turned into by 1993. Glad he left the band, I don't miss him. Ritchie is a great guitarist, songwriter and improvisationist, but his personality has always been on the edge with the others in the band, especially Gillan, and later Coverdale.
