Astute and compelling brief. What's the chance a thesis like Engdahl's would have ever seen the light of day without the internet? Answer: Zilch! The very fact that we can now listen to critics like this is symptomatic of the ongoing JudeoAmerican eclipse in the world. I am so SICK of mainstream (Jewish) blather.
Party and it was very socialist/communist oriented. The reason why the CP and the unions eventually freaked out and helped De Gaulle's right-wing government to quell the unrest before it degenerates into all out revolution was because 1. they felt that they weren't in control as it was so huge and spontaneous and 2. the CP was aligned with the USSR, while most of the rank and file movement was influenced by more anarchism-oriented ideologies and was very hostile to the dictatorial Soviet model.
His implying that the 1968 revolt in France was a CIA plot is a bit over the board though... It's possible that the CIA had a hand in the some of the radical students movements that sparked the fighting in Paris but when two thirds of the French workforce went at once on a wildcat full general strike for two whole weeks- these definitely weren't all CIA agents! The movement was led by hard left student activists opposing the Vietnam war, and by the radical labor unions and the French Communist
easily one of my new favorite authors... although i am extremely curious what Engdahl has to say about Antony Sutton's "Wall Street and The Rise of Bolshevism".
We need more analysts like Engdahl.

very fine piece of journalism, on both sides. Engdahl knows what he's talking about, and James did a great work to let him do so.
Always a pleasure, James.
