I remember this commercial. Pretty much sums up the worst aspect of US culture - you're way cooler and respectable if you have nice expensive stuff. Of course there are those of us who see someone driving a Hummer and think "dickhead".

@ugioslevak123 Personally, I agree with nongthip. I instantly think anyone driving a Hummer is a moron.
Sure you're free to buy one, just as you're free to buy "truck nuts" or to walk around with one of those baseball hats with the fake piece of poop on them. It doesn't mean I'm going to respect your intelligence.
Oh, and I own two vehicles both about as expensive as a Hummer (one moreso), but they're nicer and vastly more efficient.

@boulderbum7 then you are closed minded and ignorant. any person of any intelligence can drive any car they want. and there is a never ending list of things a h2 can do that your "nicer" cars can not do. you're just another ignorant person talking trash about a car you know NOTHING about, and no doubt have never driven. @ugioslevak123 Actually, I know a fair deal. The H2 gets about 9-11 MPG in real world reviewer tests (BIG polluter). Its aerodynamics are ridiculously poor, a tax loophole meant to assist small business owners purchasing semis had the US gov picking up 30% of the purchase price for many unscrupulous owners, and its sheer size sometimes kills the drivers of cars the Hummer runs into.
Sure you're "free" to drive a tank to pick up groceries, but it doesn't mean you're not a moron for doing so.

@boulderbum7 people dont drive hummers for gas mileage. they buy hummers for their size and off road ability. as far as killing the people you hit, better them than you. a small percentage of new hummer drivers had help from the government, does that mean its fair to call all hummer drivers dickheads when the majority bought them themselves. in fact, half the people driving hummers today bought them used. there are alot of asshole people out there, not all assholes drive hummers, look at you.
