This is my second favorite Coheed song and I wish they would play it more often. I totally understand Claudio having a slip up. It happens to literally every vocalist at one point or another. Here's to hoping for more Good Apollo 1 songs live now that Josh is back!
We shouldn't bash Claudio for making a few mistakes. He had to play around 40 songs, a lot of which are the length of 3 songs. He also had to deal with his vocal problem during these shows. Claudio is a once in a life time artist. Appreciate him while you can. That man has a lot more balls than a lot of singers who cancel their shows or get other people to sing the songs just because they have vocal problems. Claudio has balls.
I still think it is a great performace, If I was one of the people that were in the concert I would have sung from beginning to end with all my power...
are u serious? i dont hear anybody singing for claudio's fuckups! then might i be his guest? :)
the gIIiive and gOOooo of mOOoost your memories! ...but i'm NOT THE WUUHOOone that they neED PRAYED FOOoor! ...If i've GOT IT ALLHaall then what DOES... ah-doooo-ah! a-leave it alooone! ^D^
This is easily my favorite Coheed song. First time I watched Neverender I was deeply disappointed that Claudio messed up. Then I lol'd and had an eargasm.
first, i live in finland, so: i ordered the neverender box from usa berore it was released. the box was like 30 dollars or something and the export into finland like 60 euros. when it used to come, i got e-mail that my package was in customs (i was like "oh my god") then, when this box finally came.....THERE WASN'T THE NIGHT 3!!! THERE WAS TWO NO WORLD FOR TOMORROWS!!! well, i still love coheed and cambria, we all do mistakes
Damn i fucken love this jam and fuck it he messed up he still remembered ALL the SONGS from his first FOUR ablums and hes still the man sooooo..... fuck you.
Bought the DVD yesterday, haven't stopped watching it yet, it's that awesome. Can't wait to see them in March :D Plus who cares if he messed up, it shows he's on of us humans too :P
so was night three the weakest for you new yorkers? i reckon over here in london night 3 was the fucking best, im almost certain there was not one mistake or flaw and he was vocally perfect, which is odd seeing as at the time good apollo was the weakest album i thought. but these days it's my fav =)
I think it's just something about this song, to be honest. I find myself accidentally doing the second verse first a lot when I sing it too. That said, there's something oddly charming about him messing up and then asking the crowd to help him out.
Claudio messed up cause he was having really bad acid reflex that night. He said it in an interview. Night III wasn't the best of the 4. But he's still fuckin awesome
Travis should've saved this by busting into a solo for the whole first verse, Gravemakers style. Nobody gives this guy enough credit for all the catchy leads he comes up with. Too bad his sound isn't as present in the newer albums.
@MrFranciscoCalza so true man, travis and claudio's styles compliment eachothers so well. It's what makes songs like 'willing well iii' and 'mother may i' so incredible
How can u say claudio didn't mess this song up he wanted the crowd to sing it haha if u knew this song at all seems like u don't. Claudio started singing the second verse first. He fucked up cause they never play this song on tour Period
I can't believe claudio started the song on the second verse lol I love the melodys in this song guitar solo awsome I think I like Travis on guitar bettr than claudio this may be their best song it's so underrated my top five fav coheed song
Claudio messing up only shows that he's human. Without those little slip ups I would be suspicious that he was crafted in the heaven's and sent down from above to grace all with his talent.
@ScottXC91 I can't play and sing a lot of his songs at the same time. Actually his vocal range is really close to mine and I still can't hit a few notes all the time without playing lol.
Anyone from Cobalt and Calcium forums can call me out on this one...but this may be the first time they performed this track. He gets put off by starting the song from the second verse, but maintains cool by asking the audience for help: "C'mon I'm gonna need your help here c'mon!"
Then he giggles when the second verse starts and he's singing the right bit. It's one of my favourite Neverender moments
@loseronparade And? Coheed are brilliant, they are so uplifting and energetic I'd jump around going mental to them any day. Have you seen the live Neverender: In Keeping Secrets video? You ain't seen nothing until you have mate :)
it's funny that people assume he forgot the lyrics when this band is so direct and on point with the skill of each performance.... it'd be easier for this guy to forget how to count than forget the lyrics to any song he's written.
this song is just wow...the title is so ironic for me...the girl who just dumped me today was named erica and i found out she'd been lying to me and she still loves her ex...i went home and found this in my recomendations box...
He messed up because the song is hard to sing. I don't mean it's hard TECHNICALLY, but I mean, it's just like how he explained how hard singing Justice in Murder was... it's a REALLY hard memory to re-interpret.
let's just say I wanted to take a lady friend with me to see coheed live. is there anywhere for non marshers to stand so we don't get slammed into and touched by other people so much?
who cares...they are legends and dont need to prove anything to anybody... trip ups happen ...they cant practice for every song on their record and perfectly perform it ...its not possible
have you seen the welcome home performance they did for Taylor? he got all screwed up on the 2nd verse got like one line right, lol. i like seeing claudio's mess ups. reminds me he's human, lol
its not even so much that the songs hard to sing while playing it, its that he sung the wrong verse at first and then got confused. these things happen, he still rocked the place down to the floor
@guitartist22 Because the crowd always take it upon themselves to sing the harmony lines?
A hell of a lot of Coheed songs have excellent harmony lines, sometimes the songs sound quite empty without them. I think the backing singers are a great addition to them live.
when he said 'need your help here', he was talkin to the audience! The 'backup singers' are there for harmonies and for bits like the female voice in 'the suffering'! Can't blaim them, nice of one to try though.
The reason he messed up in the beginning is because the guitar part is actually quite hard and has really fast chord transitions. Weird rhythm too. He actually messes up in a lot of their live videos on this song. He even gets angry at the so called "back up" singers. I don't like them honestly.
It was actually 4 nights straight, once a week, every week for a month, plus the instrumental sets, and a show in Tempe, AZ right before the LA shows. Freaking ridiculous schedule

:D. 1:21. Mic looking at chris haha. Makes me happy for some reason. This song is amazingly chill and amazing. Who cares if Claudio messed up. No, he didn't. He just wanted people to enjoy the music for a little bit then bring in the vocals later.
i think he did want to sing. But forgot lyrics. therefore he said "come on im gonna need ur help here" But neither the girls nor most part of the audience was singing so Claudio asked them to help a bit :D but meh. love it anyway :D <3
Actually I think the real reason is just cause he's so fucking tired. If you listen to Night 3 his voice is really giving out and who can blame him after three nights?
I blame Erica Court. That dirty slut.
