Biphasics deliver currents in two directions. current moves from one pad to the other and reverses direction. they also use less energy as compared to monophasics hence decreasing the chance of burns.
Every defibrillator in the hospital, ambulance, or anywhere, should have a daily check, & everything properly tested to make sure that it is where it needs to be, the batteries ARE CHARGE AND READY, the monitor is working, the printer is supplied with enough paper, and working properly, the warning lights are functioning, the buttons are not nicked, etc.

BUT, you need to change that monitor battery.
