  • Hi friend thank you very much to share us! I love it!, God Bless u, Eduardo Neves from Brazil

  • awesome game made in Australia

  • I like how the player was getting impatient at around 2:22:35

  • Didnt know this game was on amiga.Played it on PC myself:)

  • ahhh ~ thnxs team cubex 55 :)

  • what was the point of naming him ken when he is joey in the end?

  • I love everything about this game. Loved to play this game, been searching for something like it since.

I wish I could forget this game and play it for the first time all over again

  • Gah, Use the key card on the "old fashioned lock"! Was stuck for so long here :P

  • lady permanent is the same one as the one in broken sword

  • sounds like the linc space theme is much shorter in this version.

  • Wait, is this the cd32 version or did the floppy amiga version actually have voice acting!?

  • @madcapoperator Must be CD normal on flopy dont heave it.

  • HAHAHA! I REMEMBER THIS ONE! :D

  • #LOL Give me an analysis, Joey #FTW

  • This game is as boring as I recalled (on PC). Those loading times are horrid and I never had to experience them. I would have preferred to play Monkey Island instead of this mediocre game.

The game sh... the trial had a couple of good one-liners.

  • micro-orgasms! lol\

  • I randomly chose 0:31 and saw a something about a sausage sandwich? what a perv game :D

  • I wasn't really into Amiga back in the days, but at this first look it seems as good as any point 'n click game from Lucas Arts. I have to watch the whole playthrough!

  • I know it's a cliché but they really don't make them like this anymore. The character and atmosphere of this game are unrivaled. Also it is really funny

  • i watched it to the end, and thats cause i have the game and used the video as a guide when i got stuck

  • isn't it micro-organism not micro-orgasm

  • One of my favorite games!!, just finished it on my ipod, such a great storyline!!

  • Six D-LINKs watched this longplay.

  • cubex55, perhaps you can help me with this... I can barely remember a PC game from my childhood, the main character was a deer which at the beginning loses a chess game to a rat and then has to find something called The Orb, along with another deer and a boar... Does it ring a bell, for you or for anyone here? I've been looking all over the Internet for it and still can't find anything. :(

  • @LucySkyz

Inherith the Earth is what you are looking for.

    Check Amiga Longplay 398

  • @cubex55 Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!! :) I knew you would answer!!!

  • @cubex55 By travelling around youtube is how i have found the games that i used to play as a little kid, and i have found a lot, i didn't know the names so it was hard but it totally worth it. Thanks to ppl like you that upload videos here, i can find these great games, so thank you man, thank you so much.

  • So that is what the music sounds like non-adlib.

  • I completed the PC version of this today. It has an extra scene in the court room which I think was removed from the Amiga version.

  • Impressive game! I had it, but never tried it really.. (ou know how it was with Amiga.. you had disks from friends of friends but you didn´t even know what was on them :P )

it seems awesome though! a lot of my friends were hooked on this game..

  • the dos and amiga version are very different

  • cubex55 Thanks you for ensering,I readed about your channel but, is littile compliceded man :)) i have an other questions,do i can added som movie not (game) in same size..? like 1h video..?

  • @TurkoF16

    Not possible, sorry :(

  • how you addes 2:50:35 size video..? can you tell me pls..??

  • @TurkoF16

    Read our channel FAQ :)

  • You can pick this game up for FREE for the PC (legally) from GoG.com. Looks the same graphically.

  • This game was so cool. I loved that and I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.

An equally cool, though somewhat scary game.

I miss point and click games.

    :(

  • Anita's voice is different on the pc version.

  • Wow 2 effing hours, WTF man?? lol, kidding, I know I know read the FAQ =) Awsome game by the way, and to everyone that wants to try this game for free and legal, go to GOG .com, bad ass site if you want to get some old school PC games for cheap, and with no DRM crap. No this is not an automated message, lol. Man I miss games like this. Is it so hard to marry awesome 2-d gameplay like the Bionic Comando Re-Armed or Flashback with the adventure genre style of gameplay like this? Dream Game =)

  • wtf men 2 hours????

  • @BLADEedge27

    Read our channel FAQ :)

  • Lamb sounds like bo selectas crag david lol

  • I had this on the amiga 1200 with about 50 floppy disks i had no idea there was music or voice in the game.

  • @robhimself82 it came on the CD version of the game. I know it was on the DOS version, not sure about a CD amiga version...

  • If they ever made a movie of this then Peter Kay could play Gilbert Lamb.

  • great game, i miss the amiga.

  • By the way this is on ipod now. Pretty identical to this....

  • Comment removed

  • As far as adventure gaming goes, I can't stand those that aren't produced by LucasArts. However, this was an exception. Extraordinary game...

  • Micro orgasms?

  • You never finished it! damn good game though the graphics we're really impressive for the time too. Does anyone know if they are gonna remake this game?

  • Comment removed

  • I say, put Joey's circuit board into a T1000.

  • The iPod/iPhone version is wonderful, and only cost 59p when I got it. Truly, truly a masterpiece.

  • (Ugh..damn...accidentally removed my other comment)

Awesome game, and along with Escape from Monkey Island my favorite AMIGA game.

  • Comment removed

  • I love this game. But there are some part where you really get a headache for not knowing what to do. The finest example is where you use the computer interface. Another thing is that you can get killed. A lot. :X Had to read 2 or 3 times in the walkthrough, which really doesn't happen often to me when playing adventure games. :X

An last but not least - great video.

PS: The game is officially a freeware for a couple of years now.

  • This in that time?! Adorable work from developers. Looks great

  • how did they get all this audio+visual data on just floppy disks? How many disks are we talking here? Or was this for some amiga cd rom thing???

  • this is a really great GAME, pretty IMPRESSIVE demonstration of what the AMIGA was capable of

  • lol, 11:40 "micro-orgasms".

  • This is game is free to download at Good old games.

  • rumour that there's a second one coming out

  • I have it on SCUMMVM with voices. Just 72 MB.

  • i had this on the amiga, it was like 15 disks!!

  • probably save 30 minutes in loading time alone, lol.

  • LOL at 4:00

  • 15:59 Haha! :)

  • I've been playing the remake on my iPod. It's ridiculously awesome and remarkably faithful to the original game (and ridiculously cheap, like 4 dollars).

...as if somebody didn't know already.

  • playing in ipod touch now! great game

  • Playing it on the iPhone now...those memories :D

  • I just downloaded this game from Good Old Games for free!

  • same here...and so far its a good game

  • It's no spam! I just wanted to let everybody know :(.

    This game is free now.

  • The PC version is better. But argh, the Abandonia version can't save, and some of the sounds and all of the voices don't work for some reason.

  • google scummvm ... you can also dl this game on their website. works perfect

  • by the way ... id like to have a schreibman port, please

  • who watch this movie to the end? :D

  • I do! absolute worthless to see.:)

  • "It's a 30mm wrench... And you can keep it away from my nuts!"

    Priceless :D

  • I never knew Dave Gibbons Did the comic and the background art for this.

  • Yes I know my post looks like spam but its not, i just got it

  • NOTE TO ALL VIEWERS!

This game IS FREE on GoG. c om! Go get it!

  • Guys, this ain't spam. It's true, you can also buy all sorts of Good old Games like Fallout for only 6 or 10 bucks.

  • Its also on the scummvm site.

  • @SilencerLX we don't give a shit we already own it there

  • @CommanderMeaty Dude. That comment was 12 months old. Go troll somewhere else douche.

  • @SilencerLX it's not to read that kind of shit if i go to comment section

  • @SilencerLX note to fucking you, this game is also free on the scummvm website and basically any abandonware site in existance because the game was released as FREEWARE in 2003.

  • ok im just asking u this becasuse your the most recent comment, step one the key and wd40 i know there pointless items but i think the key could have been used in the recycling plant in the barrel lift room at the back of the room there is a key hole but no key,2...read on someone elses post they reckon the wd40 could have been used in the spare room were u get the garden scissors theres a machine that aprently may have been able to be fixed with wd40,what are your thoughts if u haveany in it?

  • I can complete this in under a hour. Awesome game. Best PC Game i've ever played. Far better then Hiting the road ect

  • Watching this makes me realize that there were so many great epic games out there before the Playstation and Xbox I grew up with... o_O

I'm gonna put this on my DS so I can enjoy it anywhere! :D

  • im running this on ScummVM, but there is no voice acting,.....its just words appearing.

  • This game is freeware.

You can google ScummVM, that's a program that lets you play a lot of old graphic adventures.

The publisher allowed this game and a couple others to be freely downloaded.

I play it on the Nintendo DS :)

    Very cool game.

  • Is this amiga cd32 version or pc version?

  • It's the Amiga CD32 version, it has better sound&music than the PC-one, but lacks the 'comic book introduction' for some reason.

  • Alright, thanks.

  • if a buy copy of this game off ebay, will it run ok on a modern note book?

  • Not the amiga version you'll need an amiga or an amiga emulator for that.

  • I ment the PC version, but what amiga emulator would you recommend? My experience with emulators is that I can never get them to work.

  • manta, the game is actually freeware now, so no need to get it from eBay. It can be run on the adventure game emulator "ScummVM", which also runs many other similar games like Monkey Island. It ran fine even on my old laptop.

If you google: ScummVM and go to the downloads page, you can get the emulator, as well as a download of this game about halfway down the downloads page under the heading "extras, game downloads". The CD version is the one with the voice acting. Enjoy.

  • Comment removed

  • Where can one get an Amiga emulator that works? I tried Winuae and it wouldn't boot

  • You need to set it up correctly - google for it, or join our IRC chat for help.

  • Okay, thankies!

  • SCUMMVM is also a great emulator. That's the way I've played BASS. Memories...

  • @PyramidHead2000 ScummVM is pretty good.

  • 51:32

"How do I get a SCHRIEBMANN PORT?"

"Well, you'd have to undergo SURGERY."

"I need THAT like I need a HOLE in the HEAD!"

"The Scriebmann port IS a hole in the head!"

  • This is one of the best games I've ever played. THX for these memories.

  • Wasn't there a prequel to this one?

  • i love old games like this :)

  • haha, those fools confused the colours of the german flag. (k, maybe a deliberate insult...)

  • I've always wanted to play this. I found it as freeware a couple times and downloaded it on 2 seperate occasions. But both times I got to a part where the game would crash. One of the pitfalls of PC gaming, I guess.

  • I had this on the Amiga. I remember spending what seemed like a lot of money on this one birthday a looong time ago, only to find out one of the disks was broke hours into the game :( other than that, I loved it...

  • I love the swung LINC-space theme... the rest of the music in this version's a bit meh though, due to being shortened drastically (I guess hardware constraints, since the Amiga version was programmed for the 1meg OCS... speaking of which, I need to get it at some point)

  • Well, I guess that compared with the OPL3s that most PCs were equipped with at the time, the actual sound quality would have been better... but what I meant is that by comparison the PC version's music has a lot more to it (extra parts and sections etc)

  • Can i get this on mi DS??

  • Try Scummvm.

  • ScummVM DS exists, that's how I play it.

You need one of those flash carts that lets you play homebrew games, etc.

  • why i dont get that option when im triying to talk to the hologram? im stuck in the part where u have to enter.

  • Great video :)

Thanks for leaving the funny stuff in, I really enjoyed the jokes :)

  • how to hell do you get the video to become so longggggggggggggg

  • Read the FAQQQQQQQQ :)

  • All I can find is that it can be 10 minutes max. And if it's too long you need to make it shorter ;)

    Something I'm missing?

  • Oops... just saw the FAQ on your profile:

Q: How can you upload videos longer than 10 minutes?

A: Anyone who registered a directors account in 2006 can upload videos of any length.

Never mind my question then ;)

  • 11:43 ...micro-orgasms???

  • heheh never picked up on that when i played it..n1 ;p

  • xD

Very funny. I always gave the sandwitch to Lamb ;)

  • OMG!

  • tätä pelattiin intissä vimmalla. :)

  • mitenkäs se siellä onnistuu?

  • oli kannettava mukana :)

  • long video is long , ven longer than that 1 hour pokemon one agrgrhgrgrgh

  • This game was ace. Anybody willing to make a Source Mod about it?

Also , Saying about a revamp... I'm doing proper remixes of the songs...

  • A 2D adventure remake in a 3D engine - horrible idea :P

Try Adventure Game Studio instead - its a freeware P&C adventure engine :)

  • My idea is to change it. To make it 3d, Not point and click.

Honestly , It would be good. Or , if all fails k, We could make it 2d - 3d. That is , 3d , except it is a sidescroller. But you have yet to see anything mister.

  • It seems like that a sequel of "Beneath A Steel Sky" is is in development by Revolution Software.

  • The first part (with the robot) was the best.

  • I just know it inspired PIXAR for Wall-E.

  • Would be nice if the voices had followed the text - or opposite.

  • I am glad I have the dos flopy version because the talke version has bad voice acting. But still a great game. i bought it because I played myst, sam and max, and day of the tenticle, asswell as kings quest 6 and 7. i wanted to play one of the moe obscure games and i loved it so far.

  • Really loved this game.

    Thanks for uploading this video

  • Loved this game, my all-time favourite!

  • After Monkey island this was one of my favourites

    Truly amazing game.

  • one of the best point and click games

  • I DL'ed this yesterday, great game!

  • you could edit out the load times too

    bravo, great game, nice vid.

  • I didn't cut the loading times as the music would just be interrupted then, wouldn't sound good/smooth. If however there were no music when there was loading, I would have cut the loading. It wouldn't make a good movie if the music were constantly skipped (imo).

  • davve u just completed a fantastic feat!Congrats!

  • wow, I cant beileve i watched the whole thing.

  • Lol awesome. I was so bad at this game.. I couldn't figure out how to get out of the first building when I was a kid!

  • Joey's first shell is so cute. Gotta love him.

  • Hi guys someone help me please/ I played the DOS version of this game years ago...the one with no voice acting and I dunno if it just me, but the music for the intro was different (for the DOS version). I am very keen to dl it...can anyone help me out please? I have the SCUMVM version and DOS version (cant get DOS to ork on XP) and is there any way to rip the music?

  • I love this game! It's the mutt's nuts!

  • This game ROCKS!!!!

  • great game,i played the dos version so i didnt get the voices

  • play it on scummvm

  • OMFG

i actually physically love this game,

    it's wowowow good

    joey makes me laugh :)

  • One of best games ever played in my life...

  • Did you use an actual CD32 to run this? On mine, I find the voices take a while to load, but here it seems faster.

  • IMHO the best adventure game ever, It was funny, It had an epic story, good music and great ending! Robert Foster lives in our heart!!!

  • Exactly. Such a great dystopian world reminiscent of both '1984' and Soviet communism :D

I wish they did a TV series upon this

  • great game but maybe a bit too short. i still own the cd verion :)

  • I didn't know that the Amiga version had voice. I thought it was text only.

  • This is the cd 32 version

  • THX for posting, now I can continue playing it ^^

  • Wow, thanks for uploading this. I remember playing this, but the version I had didn't have voice acting. Now I can hear what I missed. Stellar adventure game though.

  • Has anybody here played half life two , because I am thinking of starting a Beneath a Steel Sky Source mod. I need some music so I can remix it into cooler , nmore suitable music. anybody up for it?

  • wow can you do that? keep me posted

  • Sure. As I said , all I'll need is sheet music of various areas in the game.

I can make and do a decent remix on Propellerhead's REASON 4

But I will try my best to start a mod

  • this was the most great game in the post apocalyptic section, also was so stylish and great vision.

    i adore this game.

  • This doesn't have the explaining comic at the start.

Anyway , Robert Foster was found in the GAP from a crashed Helicopter. He actually named him foster since they fostered him.

  • Could've been the Foster beer in the comic too :p

  • he is named foster because of the beer, but the shown beer logo differs from country to country afaik

  • best game of all human history.

  • This game is one of my alltime classics. :)

  • THEY NEED A STEEL SKY 2
