hello, My name is Lucy, I have just recently got a pair of Land Rollers and I am having heaps of trouble getting it right?? I want to run my dog with them as well. Is it just continuous practice to become good at it, or is there are secret method??
great video. Thanks for sharing it with us. Im getting these so that I can go faster with my dog, she hates how slow I walk and this will help me go faster
he he, i know how that is. I'm actually bummed now because my tan dog in the video isn't into it as much as my border collie was - lost her last month to cancer, it was VERY hard on me-and it really bummed me out that when i mustered up the drive to go out and skate with the dogs again, Bella - the mixed breed just isn't into it. :(
@akyramoto I really don't know how to use any kind of skates but these look to me like they are more secure, right? I mean, seems like you are less likely to fall from these than the other ones. I would love to try them.
they are more stable in the sense that you can roll into the grass if you need to make an emergency stop, you're not as likely to fall if you run over a rock or a stick. So I would say yes they are more secure to ride in or learn in. with reg skates you take more of a chance of falling running into those things.
oh, wonderful! i've been looking at these for awhile, strictly for making a high-energy dog easier to deal with. do you think the brakes are strong enough to help if a dog gets out of control? are your dogs trained to stop on command, or do they simply follow your lead?
i actually took my brake off. It was in the way for me personally. I only take them one at a time now just for that reason. They know the whoa command & I've taught them that when they're on a slip lead that means no pull ( if they have a harness that means pull). It depends on your skill level & the attitude of your dog :) Overall though, these are wonderful skates, I love them, they're very comfortable & easy to skate in.
A clearer view would be awesome to be honest, I mean like maybe get a friend to run along side or just record stationary? I just can't see whats going on here or how fast your going. Would be awesome. Great vid though, interested in a pair myself. Just not sure, because I do want speed to be honest, but I like the look of these as I'm not a very skilled blader.
honestly they're really not built for speed. they do go pretty fast. I kinda limit myself so far since I'm still new to them.
i thought that using the quickpod would give an interesting point of view, there are some other vids on youtube of the landrollers that are from a stationary p.o.v. that might give you a better idea of how they 'roll'
Use harness! poor dogs

@A145084
I'd go up a size, personally I like to be able to wiggle my toes in skates :)

are these hard to skate on? I'm thinking of getting a pair.

@elfontherun
Nope, just like rollerblades, except the front and back wheel stick out more, so crossovers are a little different

Great ! Do the wheels need to be replaced often? Thank you.

@PBC2807
I have not needed to replace my wheels yet. Although I would like to upgrade to their faster bearings some day.

Whee! Random. Right now my sister is outside running with our dog. I can't even roller blade. I ALWAYS use the grass. My dad isn't fond of that. LOL

what's the difference between landrollers and inline skates?? ..besides price or wheel size..??
frekijsimpson 2 years ago
not much really. mostly it gives you the ability to not live in fear of cracks or anything else on the surface!! LOL
I actually think they're more comfortable than any inlines I've owned. But skating wise, they're very similar.

I have LandRoller Mojos also. As you know they were released last year just as the cold weather approached, so I haven't taken them for a good spin.
I enjoy your vids and hope to get as good as you are soon.
