  • Where did you get this kit?

  • I have used for 18 months this gun as a sapper reconnaissance. This is the best AK clone.(This is the best AK)

  • Thanks for the info

  • Could you use a normal AK receiver on the AMD-65 inorder to use a Romanian wire stock?

  • @TheLeech123

qood question, yes, the front ends are basically identical

  • @TheLeech123 AMD-65 = HUNGARIAN

  • good to see the Hungarian AK.

  • how much do these go for?

  • @MonsterCanReviews

I got mine for 450 at a gunshow....pretty good rifle.

  • @MrTexasPothead thanks for the info

  • thanks for posting this vid, im about to build And AMD, whats up with the missing parts in your kit? im buying mine from Atlantic Arms, Do you just kind of get what you get due to the kit you chose?

  • its a us kit build with a milled out single stack feg sa85 receiver kinda like a wasr10

feg receivers have become hard to find in recent years Global Trades imported

they never imported semiauto amd65 assembled

  • Just bought this rifle, so very inexperienced. I can add, however, that the stock swing-out release button on mine has a slot in it. With a screwdriver, I turned the release button counter clockwise, about 5 turns, and it did make the release button much easier to push in. I can now do it with one hand. The stock looks cheap in all the pictures. It really isn't. I bought this for $800 (probably too much), but it is very nice w/Hungarian receiver.

  • can any one help me find a safety lever for my sa-85?

  • i need a safety lever for my hungarian sa-85m. any tips?

  • ah so that fixed brake is why it's not considered a SBR!? been wondering how a 14.5" barrel ak is so easy to buy... good vid. Did they ever get those missing parts to you?

  • ak folding stock

  • i prefer my AMD phenom II

  • How much did that cost?

  • DO I need an FFL for a parts kit??? I just wanna built a blank firing model.

  • @agumon12 im almost sure you dont i know a guy on here you can ask

(if you still have the question)

  • @crazyguy705

turns out i don't. bought a romanian kit since it was cheaper than the AMD. I'm still building it though, my first receiver was shit. so i gotta wait for the other one to ship through the mail. -.-

  • good vid -- I love 65's

  • Could you add a solid stock on the AMD-65 to replace the wire folder?

  • @Taymacke

While anything is possible, no, that would be quite difficult

  • @GunWebsites my ak looks just like that but it says AM0. it does say where it is made?

  • @Taymacke get an AMD-63 instead, its fairly similar but with the solid wood stock

  • @Taymacke a fixed stock version was made believe it was called the amd-63

  • @Taymacke yes you can, really easy too. go to krebs custom and go to custom parts and find the adapter trunnion and that allows you to put any ace stock or normal ak stock. you can search amd 65 project part one on luvoffreedoms page he has it on his

  • y r u wearing gloves

  • @86turkishman

    that is how I roll

  • would you get this amd 65 or the polish tantal by century arms compared in vercitility and finish of guns

  • @jigglejack100

sorry I am a big fan of both, too hard to choose there IMO

Good news is you'll win either way

  • @GunWebsites thanks well with the polish tantal can you use regular ak lower hanguards or you have to have polish tantal compatible also i heard that they dont have any aftermarket upper handguards for the polish tantal is that true?

  • @jigglejack100

nope, both of those are odd sizes and have few options

  • @GunWebsites thanks

  • @GunWebsites would you think its safe to say i should get an arsenal if i want to modify the furniture an ak

  • @jigglejack100

I would not offer that advice.. I am not saying it's true or false, I just would never offer that advice

  • @GunWebsites thanks

  • mmmh i know theres a foregrip, but why theres still no heatcover?

  • @Gumpa2

    no need for it

  • You're wrong. The AK-55 is the hungarian version of the AK-47. The AMD-65 is more a stand-alone, AKM like rifle, since it's the later, compact version of the AKM-63 ;).

  • how much is a parts kit

  • Will the rear trunnion accept a solid butt stock instead?

  • @EquipaPatriot

no, the cuts and rivet holes are different

  • mi a picsának fikázza?

  • jó vele lőni,nem piskóta előtte nem szivesen álnék .AK74,

  • im thinking about buying one of these kits to build my own. I found one for $170 with no revciever or barrel. I can get a flat reciever for $25. Not sure how much barrels cost. Will it cost much to get the reciever bent into working condition or have the gun assembled for me? Im obviously trying to go as cheap as possible : /

  • @dontdrinkthec00laid

Building an AK is NOT cheap, it is NOT a way to save money.. it is a hobby. once you are an expert and have all the tools you can finally save a few dollars on your 3rd or 4th build .. if you are lucky

  • due to michigan's idiotc "30 inch" law the AMD is all but illegal here.

  • @agricola

we know a bunch of you Michigan-ers, we feel your pain, and we are all rooting for your laws to change sooner than later

  • @agricola just found that out, went to go put mine on a lay-way from Dunhams (was on sale for $400) and in the ad it said "Not to be sold in Michigan" was wondering what that was about.

  • @agricola I'm pretty sure that you can register an AMD as a pistol in Michigan as long as it has the pinned barrel extension and pinned brake and teh folded length is 26" minimum.

  • Excellent video guys! But I just hate it when the kits are not complete, they always seem to be missing SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bigbunsnightrunner

I know exactly what you mean, LOL

  • My father shot the AMD with the people's republic time in hungary! (I'm from hungary-Magyarország)

  • Can you put together these kits with only your hands?

  • @stupidi5fun

nope, you'll need a large array of tools & lots of time

  • how do u fit an ak barrel to the receiver? do u need a press?

  • @davism4a1

not easy, a press helps, but it can be done without one

  • That folding stock is fugly.

  • I got this AMD for $350 from Buds gun shop online and its awsome! Im trying to post my vid but its awsome!

  • Can't you just use the double hook trigger group they send with the rifle and buy a receiver with the top rail step down and its full auto? Because you have to get rid of the trigger group anyway plus it counts as like five points on the scale to be legal. I'm pretty sure anyway because the receivers with the top rail step down are marked "for full auto builds."

  • @ChisumTK

    no

  • Two of my friends are Prison Guards here in Hungary. They use this weapon and told me Its awesome...

  • Were can i purchase this kit??

  • @Str8UpVandalism

Arms of America might still have some left

  • @Str8UpVandalism J & G has full assembled AMD-65s for about 400 right now...with the conversion away from the SBR barrel length already done (added length flash hider, permanently attached)

  • What tools (cheap as possible) would be required to assemble a kit? To put the rivets in I've seen a modifed vise grip.

  • I like the amd but that folding wire its ugly as hell man. Nice video 5/5, shorter barrel hell yeah since they are allowed on my "state" without the 200$ stamp, trying to get a nice price on a draco to put a stock on it :)

  • If western civilization came to an end is it possible to make this gun full auto

  • nope

  • @FoxtrotDelta6 yes it is possible to make it full auto u need full auto trigger group with auto dear drill third hole for auto sear cut hole in guide rail and full auto bolt carrier its illegal but possible but when civilization comes to an end who cares right ha do some research knowledge is power

  • @FoxtrotDelta6 if you have the machines to make the parts nesecary to do that conversion you can really build one from scratch

  • @TheKentuckykid9513 you don't have to make any parts dumbass

  • @sabbath465 rereading it your right with a parts kit build from scratch no but to make an ak built from the start as a semi auto then what i said is correct, common courtasy is not something to be over looked just because were on the internet doesnt mean you should just insult people

  • @TheKentuckykid9513 Remove the magazine from the receiver. Remove the Receiver Cover by holding in the square button that sticks out the back of the cover. Slide the Return Spring and the Bolt-Carrier with Piston assembly out of the rifle. Using the twist-tie, tie the second Sear back to the pin that runs through the receiver of the rifle.

  • @TheKentuckykid9513 Using the twist-tie, tie the second Sear back to the pin that runs through the receiver of the rifle. Now reassemble the weapon. Slide the Piston and Bolt-Carrier back into the rifle. Slide the Return Spring back into the Bolt-Carrier and slide the other end of it into its guide slot. Push the "button" end of the Return Spring while settling the Receiver Cover back into place.

  • @TheKentuckykid9513 that is how you make a already semi auto ak fully auto though you will have to file your firing pin to set off some primers

  • @sabbath465 ok yi guess you no whAt talking about or you just copied and pasted it off the anarchist cookbook, wont really belive till you make a video, i work as a tactical team member for the atf and ive never seen that in 15 years, i really dont care you can bake to playing with your dolls watching your cartoons splurting out your conspiracy theories, and hating minorities, im all for white pride but what on your wrote is just racist

  • @TheKentuckykid9513 believe me I know what I'm talking about, I truly doubt that judging by the grammar you use, you honestly think I would do such a thing? a video of me doing something such as that? a felony? LOL don't think so buddy...

  • Which assembled AMD 65 would you recommend buying? I see a couple different companies offering them.

  • Those made in Hungary IMO

  • Is it possible to put an AMD-63 style fixed wooden stock on a '65? I notice the receivers are different. The '65 is notched specifically for that folding T-stock but does it accept ANY other type of stock without modification? Perhaps one of those loop-shaped Romanian or East German tanker side-folders?

  • @ IggyHazard

You are right about the stocks, I think the rivet pattern would be wrong too, so not an easy conversion

The AMD is NOT the same as any of the other stocks you mentioned.. of course anything can be made to work, but it would take drilling ... not something i would ever do

  • @GunWebsites - You could just swap out the receiver with a standard AK receiver and attach whatever stock you wanted. Or you could bubba-rig it with tube steel. Or you could just get used to positioning it low on the cheek (but it'll never feel quite as natural).

  • @IggyHazard, how could you do this to me? How could you call it an AMD-63? :(

There is NO such thing as an AMD-63. You've disappointed me.

  • @wolfgoblin

Some info must have gotten lost in translation. I was talking about building an AMD-63/65 hybrid.

  • @IggyHazard I repeat there is NO AMD-63. Hungary has never built any kind of firearm with that name.

What you're thinking of is an AKM-63. Common misconception thanks to US importers (and the Tokoi AK variants book)

  • @wolfgoblin ... i`m hungarian. my father USED AMD 63 vhen he was in the army. so go fuck yourself

  • @shadowgn I'm hungarian too, and you're an idiot.

  • I don't think it is that easy..

There are a lot of types of 'Romanian' so you'd have to be more specific

  • What I'm curious about is how TGI can import these rifles with a Hungarian FEG made receiver and have a fully imported weapon minus the trigger group and the magazine. The Import Ban of 1989 banned fully assembled "assault weapons" from being imported into the country, but my understanding is that receivers and other parts can be imported individually. Because TGI's AMD-65's and Saiga's converted AK's are the most authentic, how do they get past all these ridiculous import laws?

  • I have an AMD-65 just like yours. My muzzle brake came loose where it is threaded to the barrel. I got it re-tacked at the weld and it came loose again. Are these muzzle brakes glued to the threads or if you were to removed the tack weld would they unscrew?

  • Federal law requires a non-registered firearm have a barrel longer than 16 inches

keep it welded, or go get it pinned

  • I am under 18 years old, can i order an ak parts kit since the receiver isnt included and is not a complete rifle?

  • since it is just parts, sure

However the receiver is another story

  • is there a good site to find different buttstocks?

  • I am not aware of any other stocks for the AMD

  • who made that receiver? ewbanks? i have 2 NDS-1 that look much better custom serial numbers a amd65 and romyG kit under 100$ each a few years ago 10$ hand select i have a different break on the AMD65 and standard rear trunion east german side folder i should sell the orginal rear trunion buttstock on gunbr*ker things only cost what people are willing to pay just like on eb@y
  • Ewbanks has been out of business for many years

  • depends on who made them and when

  • I have a kit , reicever plus screwkit. Do you prefer rivets?

I've been sittin' on this and 3 romainiankits for about 2 yearsnow..I cant belive how much they've gone up!

  • If screws worked to build AKs well, the Russians would have used them..

That's usually how I answer questions about 'screw builds' I am not a fan of them

  • gunbr***r seems to have too many robbers. what other sites do you recomend ? or are some of yours for sale ? the furniture isn't much of a bit deal i gues b/c i can alway swap out. i want a folder with a decent receiver that's put together to start with. sooo many choices. thanks for any help you can give me and sorry for trouble.

  • we don't sell guns or anything else really

AKs have many options keep researching

  • ship me a ak47 to britain

  • sorry, no

  • Id reccomend a Polish Tantal. Its an Ak 74 with a wire sidefolder. J and G sales has them for $430

  • no offense intended. i just heard some bad things how they are slopped together by certain manufacturers. i just recently started looking into ak 47's and will learn everything i can before i make a purchase. i did that with my sks and wound up with a wonderful piece. all i know is that i want 7.62, under or wire side folder. i like the idea of the 1.5 or.6 mm receiver.. wish i could AFFORD a milled. what's your opinion on the yugo m70 ab2's? and next, a manuf. that won't jack up the price

  • all what?

  • i think he means how much did this all cost

  • why do you buy the parts kits? isn't the rifle from straight from a U.S. manufacturer (hackshop)? do you prefer the original parts vs the us made ?

  • What?

only a few US manufacturers are "hackshops"

Please don't insult US manufacturing abilities

There are only 5 or 6 US parts on a "US Made" AK .. and they are as well made as the originals for the most part

The rest of the parts are all "original"

  • That is most definitely the best looking ak I have ever seen, I thought the Black Widow ak's were sweet but the one you have on display there is a beauty! Can these be had easily? Id like to replace my yugo sks with something a little lighter lol. A+ review

  • no special restrictions on this one, you can get one just as easy as any other AK

  • what kind of receiver would I have to use for one of these?

  • an AMD65 cut receiver

  • AMMO BROS. at city of Cerritos sells this kind of AK AMD65. I got one from them for $699.00 brand new.

  • Or you could buy them at Tucson Guns who sells them for $675 and they support our videos and websites

The one in the video is from them BTW

  • Thanks for the making this video I just bought a moss 500A (2nd firearm) but next year i want to get an AK with a folding stock and I was wondering how is the recoil with this type of folding stock/ also comfort, because TMHonfire101(youtube page) just got an Allied Armament Polish AKMS under folder and Im debating between the 2 Thanks again!

  • there is hardly any recoil from an AMD65 (AK47) so it's just there for support

As I mention in the video it is not like a typical hunting rifle, so if you can deal with it it's a great stock (strong and folds away)

I prefer it more than underfolders, but I know other people have other opinions

  • Thanks for the reply! Im leaning towards this kind because it also has a rubber padding on the stock.

  • the AMD-65 is one cool looking AK

  • US made rifles are also made from parts kits.. few parts kits include any US parts, yes that is up to the owner to deal with

  • where do you buy the Parts Kits????

  • fewer places sell them now

  • like gunshops or the web????

  • few if any gunshops sell ak parts kits

  • i want 1 maybe
