man today i was at an airbase where a german phantom took of with after burners, we were standing 9ft from runway and we needed special thinkgs for our ears or they would snap and we would be death, belive me when ur close and with afterburner that thing is the most noisy thing alive, a F16 with after burner ( and even F-18) aren't that loud

Yes, F-16 and F-18 use turbofan engines, which are more "quietly" than the turbojets fitted on F-4

@AGRejects Uhm well what do you expect? it has 4 afterburning engines doesnt take a rocket sienctist to figure out why lol,But my friend was at an airshow and at 7 in the morning was buzzed by a B-1 and it woke everyone up

@BBQFanNo1 Concorde wouldnt perform at airshows but the B-58 would be very very loud but an F-14 full afterburner is loud the B-58 would be more than any ear to handle but the valkrie never performed at airshows ever so you cant really say its louder.

@1bearcatf8f It did man. I was 23 years old when it performed at the air show that year. It was also the last year the Vulcan Bomber ever performed at the annual air show. I live in Toronto all my life and went to the annual air shows every year since I was 10.
