A tornado was headed for Greensburg this year but thankfully the tornado passed them over. I saw this on the discovory channel.

tht night was horrible me and my dad are storm chasers and we were stunned at the magnitude and deavestation of the tornado

they had 2 make a new scale 4 that tornado it was an f6. & torando scales only go up 2 F5's which my dad has been through

what? no they didn't....the Enhanced ("new") scale was in effect before this tornado even occurred...the Greensburg tornado was, however, the first to be declared an EF-5 using the new scale...

i live very close to greensburg!!! and that tornado is actualy the biggest tornado ever bigger than the one in 1999

i live bout 20 miles from greensburg. well my real house. it was headin for us but it took a different path before hittin us. i was on the road and literally barely missed the monster when it went up by great bend. i almost got hit. me and the tornado were in the same area. i was actually seeing debris. but i came out of it okay. was coming home from girlfriends house. it was scary but amazingly awesome

i live about 50 - 100 maybe 200 miles from greensburg but i still live in kansas ( north east kansas) and that night there was a tornado warning in my town and it was wierd. the tornado actually was about to hit then it moved around my city. that night we had the north eastern kansas record for lightning strikes

That was a great video. I've never seen video footage of the actual tornado, so it was nice to be able to see it. It would have been nicer if the video was longer or showed some of the aftermath, but overall it was great!

Like everybody else, that was a terrible day. I remeber wakeing up and hearing about it on the news the next day.

I remember that night I could not go to sleep, sure I was 300 miles northeast of it in Saint George but everyone in Greensburg became our neighbors our friends and our hearts go to those who were effected by this storm.

at least they had a warning unlike some places. and a tornado Emergency is not something the national weather service does not use very often. if anyone had a family who died in the Greensburg tornado, don't forget them! I pray for those people everyday. :'(

I remember that day. I'll never forget the grave tones of the weathermen's voices when they said Greensburg took a direct hit. Everyone who lived thru the Hesston Tornado knows how they feel.
