Love her voice, although the pianist was rude and overpowering at times. He was literally hammering the keyboard at times. Notwithstanding good job on behalf of the singer!
listen honey, i know you can sing and you really can but have u considered trying alto instead of soprano trust me im a soprano and i've sang this song and u just arent doin it right and please stand straight you make me nervouse and sad for you u look uncomfortable anyways good job
hi my name is autumn i am i 13 i just wanted to say thank you so much i am doin something called honor choir and i had to learn this song it was so confusing i had no idea what i was supposed to be singing. then i listened to your video and it helped me so much i actually learned the song i have not tried out yet, but i will tell you when i have. i also wanted to say u have a beautiful voice and i hope mine developes into something at least close to yours
You have an amazing voice.. Wow... I am singing this on Sunday for an Organ fundraiser for a local church. Thank you for your help. I have never sang this song nor have I ever heard it before. Gorgeous voice :)
uh, actually, the word in there is "getreuen", so she obviously was correct to pronounce a "g"...but i still think someone should teach her how german is pronounced. like maybe a german speaker.
I'm sorry but this has been bothering me: Don't slouch, you look like you are scared infront of the audience and you can't get half as much of the air you need if you are not standing up straight, on the other hand you had amazing vowel sounds and ur german is very crisp.
You were a bit flat in a few places. You need to fix your posture, loosen up your shoulders and neck. I know it makes a difference because I carry a lot of my tension in my shoulders and neck, and when I finally loosened up, I could access notes that I had only dreamed of hitting. Also open your mouth more, and work on more steady breathing. You have a nice instrument and with a bit more work I see you going places.
Your pitch isn't very good on the minor notes as well as the high notes. You should keep a straight back and breath nice and high before you sing at the start of every phrase, make sure your the one whose leading not the pianist his only the accompianist remember.
You need to sing in pitch and keep a good posture your hunched a bit. And also make sure you lead not the pianist. Don't push the top note just let it happen.
Nice voice, but slightly off-key at one or two occasions. Still a very good rendition. The accompanist seemed a little too brusque, but on the whole four stars from me. Best wishes, Ben.
We did this in our chorus concert and we had a german girl in the class so it was easier. Thats amazing!!!! Are you really German or were you just singing it in German?Your pronunciation was AMAZING!!!!
wow thats high. just a tip try to stand up stragiter and open your motuth. you'll get the notes a little better. we sing this for our 6th grade chorus.and were actualy good. haha. ut good job:)
a good effort overall however here's a few suggestions: you're breathing is good, but keep your breath connected to your abdomen and keep your abdominal muscles engaged, this will help you put more effort into the sound without harming your voice. you're letting a little too much air through (the raspy sound), this is helped by keeping the abs engaged and putting more effort into the sound without forcing breath.
Excellent distinction between nuch and ich. Good Vibrato, a little pitchy (the g i think) but nothing a good voice teacher cant help you with. Remember to relax your jaw and keep the sound forward. You don't want to get it lost in the back of your throat.
Excellent job, i know the recording is a little old. Your German is off to a good start. Watch your vowels, your [a] vowels need to be a bit brighter.
I also noticed that you arch a little forward. Remember that your body is your instrument and you need to create a solid frame to achieve great sound.
I am going to use this song as one of my songs to get into the Manhattan Academy of Music. I need an Italian song, an English song, and a German or French song.
i am about to do this song feb7th for solo and ensemble and i just wanted to that you for being the video that helped me to learn the lyrics without being bored to tears lol... i hope that my solo is as great as yours was... dont worry ppl mine will be on here to criticise too :D
I'm singing this song right now, and I know, it is not the easiest song to sing. This song is very dependent upon breathing(especially for the high notes) The diaphragm is the best tool that I have. Bist du bei mir (en: "If you are with me") (BWV 508) is an aria by the German composer Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel. The piece is often mistakenly attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach due to its inclusion in the 1725 Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach.
I agree with some of the above commenters that your voice is very good, but your technique needs work. Also, if at all possible, please work with a vocal coach to correct your German pronunciation. Nothing kills the mood faster for anyone with experience in a language than an overt American accent. (I as an American feel so.)
Overall pretty good job, though. I do wish to reiterate my praise over my criticism, because I do think that with work, you could develop into a very fine singer.
You have a beautiful voice and you sing very musically, but your technique really needs some work, like the way you hold your head, and you don't really have any support in your voice (you can especially hear this in your high notes)
Please keep on singing because you have a beautiful voice, and try working on your technique!
I think this is the only version here that I can listen to over and over! God you're voice is gorgeous! So mellow and sweet and innocent and straightforward. You're relaxed tone was so full and beautiful, that it constantly inspired me to sing along. Reminded me a little of Kelly Clarkson. You're very highest notes were breathtakingly beautiful, but need to be streignthened - just a BIT more - not too much though, and from the top down of course, like the best methods - and never mind liquidshl
Posture is key to singing correctly. Pretend you are a proud mama bird: chest forward (not necessarily high), and breath low into the abdomen and back. No spreading the mouth. Your mouth should ALWAYS be rounded, no matter what vowel you sing.
This should at least be close to it If Thou art near when life is closing All joyful shall I fall asleep, Be Thou with me as I awaken, And claim my soul when I arise If Thou art near when life is closing, All joyful shall I fall asleep, Ah, how serene, were thus my passing, Thy tender hand upraised in blessing Would sanctify my slumber deep Be Thou with me, as I awaken And claim my soul when I arise
The makings of a nice voice. MOUTH MUST BE OPENED ATLEAST THREE TIMES AS MUCH IN SINGING THAN IN SPEAKING. DOING tHIS WILL MAKE AN EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE AS OPPOSED TO A SO SO ONE.

Ich war vergnugt beim zuhören. Wirklich schon. Apart from the pronounciation of ö and ü (which isn't of any REAL importance) it was realy quite good. I enjoyed it, thanks for uploading.
Very nice voice - no problem there. For the parts that are a little bit off, I recommend more space in the back of your mouth and remember to breathe. But again, very well done.
Very well done. Don't worry too much on the pronounciation of the German words, if you have been speaking English all your life, German pronounciation is bound to trip anyone. Besides, no one save Germans would notice ;). The "ch" combination catches most people up.
The sheet music from which this song was sung did say Bach. However, a google search reveals a discrepancy over who the actual composer was. Some, such as Sheet Music Plus, say Bach; others Stolzel. We have decided to exclude a composer's name, since we have no way of verifying its accuracy. Thanks for pointing this out to us.
Bach included this song in his 'Notebook for Anna Magdalena' and is therefore credited for composing it (BWV 508). The real composer is not certain, but Stölzel is generally accepted.
Woaw you have a really nice clear voice. I'm a countertenor by myself and now that it's a very hard song to sing. Work on the clearness of the high notes and you'll be a great singer!
hey she has a good voice needs some work thou but for the most part good singing dont lean when your trying to be exspresive it dose nothing but mess up your alinment and work on the acent of germen words are right just they dont sound completly right cause of the accent
