  • Thanks Cal

  • He also did it without steroids

  • @theenforcer1977 he was my childhood idol. Where have the players like Ripken and Gwynn gone? They had more than #'s. They played the game right and looked good doing it . They had more than #'s they had class...You never heard about these guys having off the field exploits. i honestly cant remember ever hearing a negative thing about either.

  • Cal Ripken Jr. My favorite player of all time and the greatest player of all time.

  • This video is awful. there are spelling errors and most of the pictures are crappy.

  • cal ripkens beast but the orioles suck ass

  • It's too bad he's mainly remembered for his streak. He was an excellent defender and very good hitter (for a shortstop, at least). His 1991 season was one of the greatest seasons for a shortstop ever.

  • Great video, but when you were posting his stats, you mentioned the 2 All Star MVP's, but forgot to mention his 2 LEAGUE MVP titles!!!

I didn't read all 5 pages of comments, so if it's already been discussed, my apologies. Not too hard to re-edit that in if you want. Thanks for posting.

  • We had sooo many GREAT times with Thomas Lanahan & our daughter! Thanks, Cal!!! Tom was on the same baseball team @ Aberdeen High School in Maryland

  • Thank you. I great tribute for a great player

  • He is still the best, what a great player and role model.. We need more players like this.

  • After many years at age 25, I finally accomplished my childhood dream of getting Cal Ripken's autograph. He personally signed a picture for me. He was my childhood hero and my favorite baseball player. Thanks to an old childhood friend of mine who now works for Cal Ripken, I was able to get his autograph. I've seen Cal play in Baltimore, at Miluakee's old stadium, and in Seattle. I came so close to getting his autograph a couple of times, and now I finally have it.

  • The best player of the past 30 years, and one of the few unblemished players of the steriod era. An inspiration to every kid that played ball...miss you # 8!!!

  • great vid! they retired his number the night of his last game

  • One of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE PLAYERS. I'm glad he's in the HALL OF FAME, but i want to know if the Baltimore Orioles retired his number (#8) already.

  • Miss seeing him on the field . Awesome tribute .Go O's...

  • your gay this is a tribute to CAL RIPKEN!!!

  • kidney guy get your stuff straight so you dont look so stupid... Not only did they win the world series while Cal was playing..83 he was alos rookie of the year the same year.. Heres another oriole fact for ya.. The only team in history to have not one not two but FOUR twenty game winners on the same team in the same year... THats right in the same year..Palmer,Mcnally,Dobson and Cuellar

  • ummm dude Cal was Rookie of the Year in 1982....not 1983....

  • But he was Al MVP in 1983

  • true but irrelevant. The guy had his years wrong.

  • tell you what Kidneyguy, go to work for 2600+ straight days, then we'll talk!

  • I agree, but also add in the days the days they didn't have games and he was at practice for, and then well the number is well beyond 2,600!!

  • . kidneyguy (3 days ago)

so what if you had one great game? where are your world series championships, huh? have you even been to the world series? NO! When you have three world series titles, 7 AL pennants, and 6 hall of famers, then we'll talk!

Are you saying that the orioles have never won a world series. They have won like 5 world series so dont give me that b.s. We have like 9 al pennants and like 20 hall of famers so i think that it is you we have to wait for.
