  • I don't recognise the brand, but the tone arm and brake look like those made by Thorens. This company often supplied parts to smaller companies and retailers who had cabinets made, and put their own name to them. You may find the motor is marked Thorens, or has a picture of an anchor (Thorens' trademark) on the bottom. The "Cresendo soundbox may not(?) be original to this machine though- these are usually seen on a Decca "Junior" Portable, but they also used parts from Thorens.

  • Thank you all for taking the time..

I looked at the motor and it has the same logo like the one on the cabinet. An oval With a "s" in it and a cross or a "t". I found out that it's bought in J. Ad. Fogelquists shop in Norrkôping or Lindkôping, Sweden (mr Fogelquist had two shops)

Any Swedish companies with the initials "S.T" ?

  • Much like the Victrolas of American - probably late teens to mid 20's....You did well on the purchase I think, at least it look all original..

  • I could think that is from the 1920´s. That´s all I know. Very cool gramophone.

  • I bought this gramophone a couple of days a go. The former owner didn't have any information about this. I wonder if any of you experts on youtube know anything about it. The only info I can find is that it's made in Switzerland and there is a number 77 under the box

By the way, the singer on this record is the norwegian opera star Dagny Constanse Knutsen
