  • Have you tried "Shea Moisture" products yet? I used ORS products too and the shampoos were pretty rough on my dreads. I've been using Shea Moisture's Retention Shampoo and Restorative Conditioner and they are good. The shampoo is sulfate-free and it cleans very nicely but at the same time leaves the hair very smooth feeling. The conditioner is equally nice - there's no directions on the bottle for how to use it but i leave it on for about an hour and then rinse.

  • OMG you hair grew soo much in 2008 it was all short and ugly now they are long and sexcii :)

  • i love the suds to darcy!<3

  • I love your videos

  • I thought you were a gay relieve year old boy but you cool tho .....very andro

  • i use the mango n lime n i hate how it b lik burnin me eyes lmao its strong n since this old can update on what do you do now cuz my daddy iz obsessed with my hair...

  • ur hair is bang'n

  • WHY DON'T YOU GO BACK TO YOUR REGULAR HAIR NOW THAT YOUR DREADS GREW LONG?

  • you are super sexy....just thought i would mention lol

  • go to target in atlantic teminal and ask for "just for girls" it grows hair "hopefully."

  • I wash my hair everyday...and I know it's not healthy for my hair but I go to the gym! And I sweat! Not showering is not an option because thats just gross -.-

Conditioner should not be on the scalp because if you don't wash it off right, it'll stay there and cause dandruff.

  • they got so skinny sense last time

  • @MrUrbanswagger365 they do get skinny over time so if u want to start growN dread start them off thick

  • help on locking my roots? after washing my hair at least an inch or 2 on some locs dont wanna lock up and my hair just recently hit a growth spert and the are down my chest. maybe i can put up picks and or videos so you can see

  • @859LilVTae Thats new growth. The roots is fresgh hair grown out of your scalp. As it grows it will lock and you wont even notice it.

  • #GetHip > Prophecy - Dreads (She Love My Dreads)> SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL IF YOUR FEELING THE TRACK > Also Follow Me On Twitter @ProphecyDMV & Facebook/Profa.Md

  • The Dollar Tree sells VO5 shampoos and conditioners that smell really good - plus, you can't beat the price =]

  • Love your dreads, just cut mine. :( yeah I miss them

  • I would recommend VO5 or Sauve. It's cheap and great quality. When using conditioner I put it in the strands and not really on my scalp----unless I'm doing a conditioner wash. Which is a rinse with conditioner. I figure my scalp produces it's own oils that I don't need to use conditioner on it. As far as shampoo. I use Dr. Bronner's Castille soap---diluted. And when using a shampoo that's when I wash my scalp & strands. Locs collect dirt and scalp needs clarifying. So yeah.

  • all over

  • :OOO your hair got so much longer! how do you retwist it now? cause i want my dreads to be that long some day but idk how to twist it when it gets that long :o

  • i would recommend Suave professionals the one with almonds

  • EEww i would never b with a girl with dreads U cant clean

that shit its KNOTS hello no matter wut u say i know ur lying lmao

If u wash it to much and have wax it will gor MOLD n break off !

  • @YoungKnoccOut u just showed me the true meaning of stupid and ignorant...thanks

  • @Brandon561

No i just showed u the meaning of Hygeine

I mean as a guy honestly I could get by wearin Dreads i mean

some I SAID VERY FEW women would like it

but women r suppose to have natural or clean permed relaxed hair

n i cant stand da Process

ur not suppose to wash hair until 2 weeks No such thing as conditioner

U cant even use Normal shampoo because of residue or build up like WTF

knots = tighted matted poop = DONT COMB HAIR

Imagine if strippers wore DREADS lmao = NOT lol

  • @YoungKnoccOut Imagine if strippers changed their LIVES around haha NOT. but SO necessary HAHA! -.-

  • @YoungKnoccOut Everyone is different. Not only that, but everyone is also entitled to their own opinion.

  • I use tresmme-deep cleanse shampoo but I for my dread but, I don't use conditionioner I only kem oil to condition my hair afterward.

  • haha wow yur funny, like really

  • dam u iz jus so fine

  • Isn't she just so cute ;)

  • Comment removed

  • wat shampoo n condotioners u use now. im 2 years in check out my vid. lemme kno ur produktz...

  • I am sure that you have found something by now... but BIOSILK has amazing line of products and they work wonders... People think it a white product... which is false.. i put on of my coworkers on it and he loves it... his locs are very healthy, and they never look dry... just a suggestion .

  • Lol dreads on deck!

  • DO ALL OF YOUR HAIR..... ND USE THE LIME CONDITIONER STUFF

  • DO ALL OF YOUR HAIR

  • did you call yourself a weirdo at :56

  • i wanna see your loc journeyyy !

  • nice lips girl friend

  • PINK OIL. :)

  • holy crap! at first i thought you didn't have a shirt on! got me all excited, lol! ;)

  • Do a hot oil treatment with pure olive oil (the greener the better), jojoba oil, tea tree oil, and whatever other essential oils that you want to use. Heat it in the microwave for a few seconds then rub it through your scalp and locs but not too much. I find that doing the conditioning first and then shampooing actually helps my hair.

  • ur fine ass heck

  • yo dreads sexy bruh

  • For regular hair , I usually do the bottom the most because , hmmm I don't really know , Lol . But , at times I do the whole thing because I just won't want to do it the next day , But I don't know how you do it with Dreads . Hope I helped :)

  • I am definatly subscribing! u are my inspiration i love your videos and u r super funny...your hair looks beautiful! I have dreads and they reach the middle of my back and im 13....i wanted to know what shampoo and conditioner you use?? because the ones i use dry my scalp and flake it.

  • Lol, yo locks are superb but I put conditioner in my hair in the roots and all thru my hair as well. You have had locks longer then me and I think you know more but I know how you feel, you always want that extra umph to make them look better even tho they already look good. Also I dont call mine "dreads" because of the negative origin. But anyway you good I use mango just like you.

  • r u naked

  • When I had dreads i'd go out to the beach and collect salt water in whatever containers I had and I kept re-filling a spray bottle and after I got out of the shower I'd spray it all over my head. :) I miss my dreads so much. ='[

  • ORS Olive Oil shampoo and conditioner or cantu products..

  • OH EM GEE!!! (sarcasm btw) I got my dreads on 6/15/10 because of yours! I can't wait until they lock. I've seen MILLIONS of dread tutorials and I couldn't decide if I really wanted them. But seeing yours grow over your videos is what really made me decide to get them. Wish me luck! Lol. What's it like being a teacher though? OH! OMG your art is awesome. So... Yeah.... Bye!

  • @toshloc03 We got ours started on the same day! Thats my birthday!

  • whats wrong with suds???

  • they usually represent harsh detergents like sodium lauryl sulfate which in the natural community is like... the devil lol it strips your scalp of some necessary natural oils aka sebum BUT with dreads I think it needs some sls so they can be thoroughly clean minus build up @aprilnc94

  • HAPPY 4 YEARS DREAD ANNIVERSARY!! :-)

  • well i cant really recommend anything else becuz i use mango and lime *cough* ur fault *cough* kidding ,,,but mostly commentin 2 say thanks i like d mango and lime IT FEELS TINGLEYYYYYYYYYYY lol

  • I use Organic Root Stimulator: Lock and Twist Gel, but i often interchange it with the Mango and Lime: Locking Gel... since the front of my hair has a mind of its own i use Soft Sheen Carson: Let's Jam Conditioning Gel, just to catch the random stray baby hairs

  • how do you get your dreads so small?

  • you're very beautiful :)

  • KeraCare

Dry & Itchy Scalp Moisturizing Conditioner

    Excellent! Has never failed me.

  • u look gud an so do ya dreads

  • u look gud ma

  • yo dreads r stright ppl haten on y

  • gurl ur locs are bangin! Please tell how long it took to get to the length you are now and fo you think starting off with a head full of hair increases the growth rate of your locs?

  • Wow.......you. are. beautiful. O.O

  • Wow, its like they've doubled in length over night. Beautiful. I think you should def. condition the scalp, and use more of a mild shampoo so it doesn't completely strip your scalp of all the natural oils. Its the reason why black hair tends to be dryer and more prone to breakage. So keep that scalp moisturized. I have no suggestions for products because... I make my own now.

  • horse shampoo & condition.... called (maine tail) in a yellow, blue&white bottle...the best........big ass diff in two week's i promise you...

  • i use lock & twisy gel for twistys

  • i wish mine would grow faster...

  • Do you use products with certains vitamins you prefer. like b12 or vitamin e?

  • The reason why the Aloe shampoo dries out your hair is because it's a clarifying shampoo, which is meant to be used once a month. Your dreads got longer since the last time i viewed one of your vids, which was probably August 09.

  • Got damn I ain't been on utube n 4 months girl I don't even like u but I give u yo props yo hair is long den a mf

  • thank you!!

  • lol... I like your videos...

anyways, Im simple with hair products I just use panteen pro-V cuz I like how it smells and it seems to do a good job. but I have hair down to my ass, so I was wonderin the same thing about the conditioning thing... then one day I read online about it and it was saying that its important to condition your scalp cuz the shampoo takes away natural oils in cleaning your hair. I used to put most of the conditioner on the ends, now Ive switched and it seems to be workin

  • does that lock and twist stuff you showed leave any residue in your hair?

  • how i do you take out dread with out cutting them

  • @MrTouchdownpackers you can soak them with conditioner and comb them out, just search for a "combing out locks". you will probably lose most of your length though. God bless

  • EMPRESS yuh lookin good!!!!

  • u so pretty... i love ur dreads

  • Believe it or not, Suave got this new Rosemary and Mint shampoo/conditioner deal that's been workin well for my dreads. Helps lay the roots down pretty good. Plus Murrays got creme beeswax that's cheap.

  • estas bonita

  • I can't believe how much your locs have grown. They are beautiful!!!!

  • great locs yu were my insperation 4 this set of locs..lol

as weird as that sound but check out my first dread loc journey vid..

  • What the f**k?!

i've been sleepin on your videos, your hair is twice as long, jeez

  • check out my videos to see wut shampoo i use if u want, they all work nice for me

  • Comment removed

  • Pantene Pro V Relaxed & Natural Intense Moisturizing Conditioner, I personally put much more on the tips

  • I like the Trader Joes Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner..... It's like 4 bucks and it feels wonderful on your scalp. It's really gentle too....

  • oops, I responded in the wrong comments section... sorry. Anyway, I like Palmer's Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner

  • Please dont cut them you will regret them like I do EVERYDAY!!!!

  • im starting mine this summer i cant wait to get them as long as yours!!!!!!

  • The ORS lock and Twist Gel is the BOMB!

  • The Suave Coconut Shampoo is nice. Its not organic but it makes my hair soft and helps with moisture especially if ur hair has colour.

  • im in my fourth month of locs and i was wondering should i keep getting them retwisted or no cause their not locked

  • u work ur conditioning thru ur hair from scalp 2 roots down to ur hair while u massage ur scalp u can use essential oils to condition ur hair the lock nd twist gel alot more gel for ur money but i find it to kinda heavy but it twist nd lock ur hair tighter than jamacian mango nd lime

    hope that helps

  • pantene i hope spelled right for women of color.

  • HOW long did it take u tew grow ur dreads

  • You are so beautiful, you look so natural

  • Ur gettin long they look good

  • I like the nasal nose too.

  • that lock gel is great stuff,I wear twist and that's the only product I use, just don't put too much in or it will turn white

  • Use Hair Mayonnaise! idk if u know

what it is or what it looks like,

but its orange [[[ :) yay orange ]]] and it

has a green cap. its in like... a jar type thing,

as opposed to a bottle.. it makes your

    hair really soft!

  • I put the conditioner all through my dreads... the scalp and the dreads.

  • wow girl your dreads r huge since the last time!!!!!!

  • most of the pple that use those olive products end up switching...check and see if alcohol or any agents that could dry your hair out are in there. Almond oil is a good scalp moisturizer.

  • aussie r cantu products r st. ives

  • I'm always trying something new. I use Suave conditioner. I start at the scalp and roots and work down the full length of my hair. As for shampoo, I stopped using anything with sulfate or ammonia or alcohol. I like BioInfusion. It's about $7 or $8 per bottle, but my hair and scalp respond well to it so far.

  • i love d the end you we like ..byee

  • ...beautiful girl!

  • I use Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap....I use it to wash my hair only and I don't usually use a conditionder....

  • dont use that stimulator cause when I went to get my hair dont my stylist said it makes a greasy residue in your roots totally gross so yea I have the same conditioner but I am thinking of a change as well...

  • well, it's all regular hair but I know what you meant. yeah, I condition all over, roots to ends, Moroccan Oil, shampoo and conditioner. Pricey but good.

  • all over!!! its still hair!!!

  • YEA i did the exact oppisite i stopped using lock & twist Gel and started using the jamaican mango and lime (rasta wax&gel)

  • I dont use conditioner anymore but i do hot oil conditioner treatments and for shampoo Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree shampoo is awesome.

  • love yo dreads

  • fa sho ma yo dreadks got long

  • YUH THE SWEETEST GAL I&I HAVE SET MY EYES ON!:D;)

hope yuh get the right shampoo or whatever...

  • Conditioner that works for me is Locafella. It smells nice, makes your hair REALLY soft and isn't anymore expensive than JML. TRY IT!!

  • i HIGHLY recommend oyin handmade honey hemp conditioner. unfortunately, unless youre in bmore you have to order online, and shipping is ridiculous. but i use it as a leave in (scalp and locs) and my hair is def softer. also, dr bronners liquid castille soap is great, cheap, smells nice, and they have it at target these days. dilute it with 1/2 water to avoid dryness.

  • i totally thought you were topless! lma0!

  • condition the hair, there's no need to condition the scalp ithink..

  • Coconut Milk by Organix and I condition the hair the most...

  • or i use peppermint shampoo, its castile soap its has blue and white writing on it and its like 18-1 soap but its excellent

  • i use mega care olive oil or tea tree oil and i just put it in right after I shampoo and get to twisting it really condtiions well

  • conditioner is for the entire shaft of the hair, not the scalp. it strengthens it. And the queen helene mayonaise conditioner is great.

  • trader joe's nourish shampoo. its the best. no sulfates. smells great. yes, i have locs

  • Why can't I get excited about a cute top?

  • sauve clarifing shampoo and sauve coconut conditioner . when i condition i do the roots and the tips

  • danggg your hair issuperrrr longggg now

  • you look hot now your deads are long

  • They are getting looooong! Good job!

  • i use the same lock & twist gel, i like it 'cause it doesn't flake.

the conditioner i use is organic root stimulator HAIR MAYONNAISE (not actually mayo)

    google it ! ;]

  • you should try the design essentials inti ith shampoo its really good and it smells great...they have conditioner as well the products are real good

  • itch*

  • i agree i use that too... along with taliah waajid products

  • I like using the conditioner from garnier fructis. Its the one made with avocado, shea butter, and... something else... I show it in my 12 month update. Also I really like neutragena shampoos. They rock my socks.

  • Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle(try saying that 3 times fast)

shampoo and conditioner like $3 each

it's amazing! the conditioner really moisturizes and they have no lauryl sulfates but are really sudsy

  • ive always said id trim mine once they got a certain length but when i look at it..i cant do it lol

  • i saw the one you made a few days ago but i mean one of u washing your hair and doing it

  • i saw the one you made a few days ago but i mean one of u washing your hair and doing it

  • you should go buy some doo grow

  • Your. Hair. Is. So. Long.

    Let me swim in it.

  • I tried that olive oil stuff too and my scalp got dry as hell too. and WOW Dari your hair is getting long

  • scalp shampoo, hair conditioner :)

  • AND.. don't focus on the scalp. You can also do a co-wash... shampoo tends to dry out your hair so wash with conditioner instead.

  • Aussie 3-minute conditioner is AMAZING!

  • vo5 girl cheap and the best for locks,i try not to condition too much

  • look good.. got hella long too.. keep em -1-

  • I dont have your type of hair, but from what I know, your scalp produces its own oils, so the hair closest to your scalp is usually the most conditioned and doesn't require conditioner. Hair dressers suggest that people actually only apply conditioner from the middle to the tips since its the farthest away from the scalp and the oldest and driest part of your hair.

  • WOW :-D, your dreads got long.

  • your dreads got super long ive been following you up on youtube dread club keep it up they look great are you ever gonna cut your hair i hope not

  • condition both, at least thats what i did. :D

  • I don't have locks but I'm natural and I condition the hair the most because the ends are the oldest part of your hair and it gets the least amount of nutrition.

  • you could use cream and nature shampoo and conditioner

it works for my hair but when I put in the conditioner I just rub it all over my head. I don't really know what to do with dreads

    SORRY
