i had this phone for a few days and i really didnt like how bulky it was so i switched and got the eris..i love it so much more then the moto droid. just my opinion.

The fact that it has th least dropped calls is totally irrelevant. I don't know the exact figure, but let's say 10% of their call are dropped and they have 100 customers, that's 10 dropped calls; now let's say another company has 5% of their calls dropped, and they have 1000 customers, that's 20 dropped calls even though their percent is better. My point is, you can't really judge service based on that. But, I lol at the ATT commercial which groundlessly make the verizon map fall apart XD.
@Sds3245 - The ATT Map is for 2G (EDGE) Coverage. The Verizon map is for 3G Coverage. ATT is still getting slammed by Verizon. Verizon has and will continue to have the most of everything because corporate Verizon has more money at its disposal, more markets developed. AT&T Shut down several towers in various states recently to cut costs.

A Washington Post article written on 12/23/09 states that the $99 tomtom navigation app for the iphone with the CAR DOCKING 4 THE IPHONE WHICH ENHANCES SIGNAL experienced dropped in service (at&t).
While the Droid with Google Navigation (FREE) just with the handset without a CAR KIT of any kind, had no drop in service (VERIZON).
Also GN app is better designed than tomtom.

Most likely your Droid will be in sleep mode. Just give it a quick click on the power button (upper right). This'll wake up the Droid. Then press & hold the same button until you see a pop up screen. Touch one the "Power Off". That's it.

Posting from my Droid now. It is pretty sweet actually. Touchscreen rules... if you want pinch and zoom you can have it. Voice recognition search/dialing/navigation is awesome. It reads my emails to me... and next week you can buy an app that allows you to speak emails, texts, IMs and almost anything else. Android rules. Droid is nice. Passion is probably what you all will really want.
I love the design and functionality, but by playing with the droid personally, the physical keypad buttons are hard to press which changed my mind about buying the phone.
well it could look way prettier. the things i hate about the way it looks it's that it's edges are too squared and the back of the phone is ugly, when you slide out the keyboard the track pad is ugly and it takes room from the right side of the phone so it makes it be more to the left side. just watch another video about the droid with more details and you'll see the difference. i'm chosing between the droid or the blackberry storm 2(that's a beautiful phone) for christmas

Besides, AT&T has shitty service and doesn't get anywhere NEAR the amount of coverage Verizon does. AT&T may be able to download things faster from their so-called "3G Network" but what would be the point if the coverage is limited? And fyi, I'm a T-mobile fan, not a Verizon fan.
Verizon claims to have nationwide coverage however with my experience on both providers. At&t service has serviced me better. T-Mobile has the most affordable phones with is something I like, but I feel like their phone feel like toys.
From my personal experience, 4 years w/ at&t, nextel, and Verizon along with close friends whom I talk to very often using tmobile, cricket, boost, the worse of them all would be boost closely followed by at&t.
@ajl260 I agree that some of the models of phones that T-Mobile sales aren't so appealing as the Droid or iPhone. The only reason I go with T-Mobile is because it seems like no matter where I go I have coverage. And sometimes I've even been able to pick up service off AT&T, Cellular One, and Sprint depending on where I'm at.

What Li-ion battery doesn't need to be charged? Technically, you're not supposed to charge your phone fully and then wait for it to hit 5 percent because the battery doesn't like that. Studies have shown that Li-ion batteries should be charged frequently and calibrated (fully charging and then letting die and then fully charging) once every one to two weeks.
Uhhh you must be dumb, the iPhone had widgets. There is no need for a message bar because it pops up and tells you on the iPhone so they both have the same features. Limited multitasking. (And I said besides the multitasking.)

And having a notification bar will organize your messages a lot more because they're all RIGHT THERE. You don't have to close an app, go to messaging to view your messages and then exit out of messaging and go to E-Mail. On Droid, you can check it all right from the notification bar.

WiFi is definitely a big feature. In my book, a smartphone should have Wifi. As for the Droids keyboard, im sure you could get used to it. There is also the Eris, which has a keyboard like the iPhone.

Posting from my Droid now. It is pretty sweet actually. Touchscreen rules... if you want pinch and zoom you can have it. Voice recognition search/dialing/navigation is awesome. It reads my emails to me... and next week you can buy an app that allows you to speak emails, texts, IMs and almost anything else. Android rules. Droid is nice. Passion is probably what you all will really want.

well it could look way prettier. the things i hate about the way it looks it's that it's edges are too squared and the back of the phone is ugly, when you slide out the keyboard the track pad is ugly and it takes room from the right side of the phone so it makes it be more to the left side. just watch another video about the droid with more details and you'll see the difference. i'm chosing between the droid or the blackberry storm 2(that's a beautiful phone) for christmas

anyone can have an Iphone Xaviorist, its the fact that we dont want the shitty ass AT&T service that goes along with it. I admit the Iphone is a little better then my droid, but I rather take a Droid on Verizon and have full coverage and 3G everywhere then have an Iphone on shitty AT&T on 1 percent of the US coverage. Iphones biggest downfall is AT&T. Verizon has the best coverage, and service hands down, Statics dont lie.

Probably because everyone doesn't have a rich mommy and daddy like you do to go out and buy an iPhone for them. Besides, AT&T has shitty service and doesn't get anywhere NEAR the amount of coverage Verizon does. AT&T may be able to download things faster from their so-called "3G Network" but what would be the point if the coverage is limited? And fyi, I'm a T-mobile fan, not a Verizon fan.

Verizon claims to have nationwide coverage however with my experience on both providers. At&t service has serviced me better. T-Mobile has the most affordable phones with is something I like, but I feel like their phone feel like toys.

The only reason I go with T-Mobile is because it seems like no matter where I go I have coverage. And sometimes I've even been able to pick up service off AT&T, Cellular One, and Sprint depending on where I'm at.

Make sure you read about the drop signal (at&t crappy network) experienced by iphone's tomtom...with the car kit that's suppose to enhance signal strength against just the Droid handset.

This phones battery life sucks my friend. You have to charge it every single day. And if you use it alot you have to charge it multiple times a day.

What Li-ion battery doesn't need to be charged? Technically, you're not supposed to charge your phone fully and then wait for it to hit 5 percent because the battery doesn't like that. Studies have shown that Li-ion batteries should be charged frequently and calibrated (fully charging and then letting die and then fully charging) once every one to two weeks.

And having a notification bar will organize your messages a lot more because they're all RIGHT THERE. You don't have to close an app, go to messaging to view your messages and then exit out of messaging and go to E-Mail. On Droid, you can check it all right from the notification bar.

WiFi is definitely a big feature. In my book, a smartphone should have Wifi. As for the Droids keyboard, im sure you could get used to it. There is also the Eris, which has a keyboard like the iPhone.
