  • I am 52 years old and John Denver was so much a part of me growing up because of his music. The day he died I was having my own crisis with alcoholism....Needless to say it was his death that made me want to get help and I did. Miss and love you John.

  • as with all JD songs there is a story to tell .......and he does so so beautifully

  • They just don't make musicians like this anymore. His sound and creativity was just beautiful.

  • He only has to stand on his place and sing from his heart.

  • The Neil Young song is completely different and written by NY of course.

  • @edslides1 Yes, he wrote it when he had found his first guitar which was missing for a long time... or something

  • such a beautiful voice, calm, easy....just the best!

  • The world is worse off with the loss of such a good human being who happened to have a wonderful voice. I doubt he ever hurt a soul in his life. I liked this guy a lot. Im glad we still have all of your music to cherish John. Personally, I will miss you very much.

  • I always loved John Denver, from the very first time I heard him right up to now. He stood for something, and loved with his whole being. I think we could all learn alot from him.

  • Forgot about this song....beautiful!

  • During the late 70s, I lived in Aspen...and one fall afternoon I saw John Denver sing from the back of a flatbed truck in a sun-dappled meadow, performing for no money, but just to benefit the kids at a camp for deaf children. I tell you now, whether you like his songs or don't, every word John Denver sang came from his heart...every song was true to who he was. His music inspires me to try to be just a tiny fraction as genuine as he was. If that's what it means to be "uncool", sign me up!

  • his voice is so beautiful. so many people associate him with 1 or 2 songs, but he is SO much more.

  • John Denver is just a legend...

  • if michael jackson sold 800,000,000 units that means were 800,000,000 acts of unadulterated complete musical ignorance and retardation

  • It helps that John Denver was bron with a "pitch perfect" voice - once he tuned an RCA studio piano - using his voice - and a piano tuner that same day - said that every note was perfect on an oscillascope!!!!! So all John Denver did was sing of the things that he loved. He is also the 3rd highest selling singer of all time (240,000,000) - behind Elvis (1,600,000,000) and Michael Jackson (800,000,000)!!!!!!!!!

  • My favorite John Denver song...gives me goosebumps everytime RIP

  • The 1st time I heard this song 30 odd years ago I played it over and over ....the years have not dimed the great lyrics or guitar composition....for me.the real sign of a song writing master.

  • I saw John in concert three times thru the years. He was always a master entertainer and part comedian when he wanted to be.. He sold out ORU Mabee Center (Tulsa) several times. I have never seen anyone who could hold the attention of a crowd like this man. This Old Guitar was 100% pure John Denver

and my personal favorite. His Flagship song

  • Wow @johnyks55 This perticular version performed 06/18/88 Brisbane, Australia, Entertainment Center ..... I was at this very concert! .... Saw him three times in all. Two at Brisy Ent centre, and one at the Sydney Ent Centre. There'll never be another John Denver. Just like there will never be another Michael Jackson! Two very unique talents of immense ability!

  • OHHH HOW WE MISS YOU BROTHER JOHN

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

  • ONE OF MY LIFE'S REGRETS IS THAT I DID NOT GET TO SEE JOHN DENVER LIVE.

WHEN I HEAR HIS MUSIC A PART OF MY HEART IS SAD THAT I DID NOT GET

TO SEE HIM.................BUT HE IS HERE IN MY HEART AND YOURS TOO!!

    SEE YOU SOMEDAY, JOHN.

    STEVE

  • @johnyks55 This was performed during his 1988 tour or Australia. This perticular version was performed 06/18/88 Brisbane, Australia, Entertainment Center.

  • I am sadden by the passing of Mr. John Denver. Thank God for the recording industry. I can revisit him whenever I want. RIP -John, we lost a lot when you passed on.........

  • Hi folks, this a wonderful song ffrom John, that meets all the minds of singers and their guitars like me. Thank you John for this kindly tune. Redwanderer

  • miss yah man

  • Thank-you for sharing this video of John Denver. I am so happy he enjoyed singing

for all his fans & the stars up above . He had away with his words to touch your

heart deeply . Thank-you JohnDenver . Miss you always with my son I lost in 1994.

  • Beautiful. My equal favourite artist, Johnny Cash being the other.

Being 24, I'm just bummed both went before I had a chance to see them live/get into their music.

  • Yes JD is uncool - but cool is way overrated. Cool is for rap stars who preach sleaze and murder. John was and is a natural talent who could communicate like just about no one else. I love to hear him and see him smile.

  • I think John Denver is cool. and I'm 18.

  • @twilightstardust5 i thought the same since I was 15

  • @twilightstardust5 I think he's cool, and I'm 15 lol. No one wants to admit it, but he was (and still is) a great musician.

  • @ddddfffss124 I started listening to him when I was 7 years old, I am now 44. I was teased all through school for listening and it never stopped me...

  • @cliffc276 That's great. Forget about everyone else, he is amazing

  • @cliffc276 I was the same and at 44 years and here in Tasmania Australia I am still unashamed to say he was one of the worlds greatest singers

  • I was devastated at the news of JD's death. But I had been in the audience at the Royal Albert Hall when he gave a stunning performance ....

So much love .... so much loss .... I miss you still ....

  • ahhh, so was my mum

    shes a huuuugggeeee fan

she went for her birthday on 21-03-97

she misses him loads as well

  • That I not fan do not cancel my valid relation to his life and creativity.

Good country-musicians seldom visited the USSR and Russia. And in a city in which I lived at the time of the USSR them never would pass. So chances to hear it practically was not. :-)

    Excuse for my English.

  • Не могу сказать ничего определенного, поскольку не я вляюсь фаном Денвера. Мне просто понравилась песня ..

I can not say anything special, because i am not a Denver fan. I just liked the song ..

  • The beautifully seductive voice of John Denver imparts somthing to each chord...a glimmer of hope perhaps. So very talented!! I remember when it was very uncool to like John Denver...I always felt they judged him without listening to the merits of each song...a message...a touching song that imparts a sense of reality in the telling of the story!!!

  • I think that the best version of this song in youtube, Thanks for posting it¡

  • Thanks for sharing such a wonderufl clip of John singing !!!!

  • Thanks so much for this video! There's nothing like listening to just John and his guitar.
