Despite how bloody and scary it is, there's a lot of dark humor in it, which makes it a bit funny at the same time. I love how the theme looks childish but is taken to the extreme.

I love House of the Dead, but CarnEvil has a more colorful theme.

it's an arcade game that came out on halloween of 98'. they made the emulator for the pc but other than that it's just an arcade game. i got the arcade version from our arcade at the mall for christmas. it was a big surprise for me christmas day. LOL!!

Easy way to reload in these arade games is to hold your finger over the lens instead of aiming offscreen to reload. The game just has to not see any color of the screen to reload, so blocking the light woks great. this is what lest you keep your aim steady and reload, all the while reloading asap.

It's available via the latest 'MAME' emulation for PC,Mac & Linux. Besides the MAME emulator you'll need carnevil.zip (~20Kb) and the laserdisc image, carnevil.chd (1.6Gig). There out there, but it's unplayable with kbd, so joystick will be needed guys :-)
