if you have listen to the CD you will notice that on this version the tempo slows down at 1:22; on the album it does not (well accelerate progressively) because the pitch does not change i suppose that this version is made by massive attack for the internet ( keep in mind that the ieland of heligoland is known for the millions of false collector stamps end 19th )century )
I don't know if this crisis has been resolved yet, but for the people that keep complaining about the tempo: Yes, this is how it was intended to be, I have the album and it does change in tempo slightly. Some may love it, some may hate it, some may not even notice it is there, but everyone has to acknowledge that it is the original for better or worse.
@gisellecelestine Actually, I hate to say it, but the original version doesn't play with the tempo, at least not to this extreme. (Unless the version on iTunes just has the tempo equalized).
@unternimmdasnick Underrated? Yes. But if it became "rated" then everybody likes it. Then it becomes the mainstream which you so eagerly deride. Then people like you stamp your foot, say it got too commercial and it's not good anymore, then try and find something else that nobody knows about. New thing is found, you feel special and unique, recommend the underrated music.. Complain when it becomes popular and commercial. And thus the hipster circle of life continues...
@TCoops Well, it is the pursuit of becoming socially distinct that creates the 'hipster' you so speak of. This often happens with introverts who consistently analyze themselves.
@rococoness What he is saying, i think, Is that the mainstream that is out there at present sucks, so fuck that. If this was mainstream he wouldnt say fuck the mainstream. So dont be so quick to call someone fool if you dont understand their comment properly

@BellTollsForThee THANK YOU!! I just went around for few weeks playing it to all my friends, them going: WHAA? Your comment just made my day. That slow down is fucking phenomenal!
In 1998 we loved them and they loved us. Now they're irrelevant. Try harder. Stop relying on cliches. The studio works great if you have some idea of what you're doing before you get into it, but it's not an excuse for not having those ideas in the first place. Think about Pink Flag. You know what I mean. Or I hope you do.
@SuperiFox All their songs are identikits now. A kind of hammy pathos, just ready for a dodgy documentary soundtrack. If this is your definition of 'different' you're living in a very dull universe indeed.
@mookie2637 Lol.. dude don't be a pretentious douche. Relax. It's a good song, and imo it's unique. You don't need to critique my opinion, unless you have deep-rooted emotional issues.
@SuperiFox So only people with 'deep seated emotional issues' are allowed to disagree with you? It's not a good song, and it's not unique. They ran out of ideas on the album before this. You ran out of ideas when you called me a 'douche' tbh...
@mookie2637 Dude this album has nothing to do with their previous work, in every album they haven't ever let us down. This sounds more contemporary, and maybe thats why you think it isn't original but they definitely have their personal style that has long characterize them. But again that just my opinion just like it is your to think this is garbage, Im just happy that I am not disappointed.
Only people with deep seated emotional issues would think there's any point in trying to falsify another's opinion. I agree that this is a bit less inspiring then earlier stuff, but I still enjoy it and without even attempting to dig into any meaning they've seeded into this song (album) I am still bumping into my own meaning, inspired by their sentiments.
State your opinion. Ok, great. Disagree with mine, sure. Argue about it? You're both clueless.
@hunkyzombie Yes, at 1:22 it seems to have been slowed down. I have the album and it doesn't have the lag at that point. Seems to speed back up at 3:44. I do notice that even on the album the choice of backdrop organ used gives the impression of "slowing" down.
This is a awful quality version of the original. The static in the background at intro is way higher then in the CD version. Also the tempo change at 1:21 shouldn't be in the song but stems from a cruddy mp3 somewhere on the net. I this same crappy version in a torrent as well. However its not like this on the CD.
@StaticSelector Dude, you should learn about music before talking trash like that. The song drops in BPM which is NOT the case on the album. Maybe i'm just a better listener than you, (I strongly suspect it anyway) but one thing's for sure: it should NOT drop like that. So maybe you should take yourself a little swim, preferably with a couple of heavy weights around your ankles. Love
@StaticSelector and by the way, none of the other versions of this song that are on youtube drop in BPM, so I think you're on the wrong path here m'friend. Just sad that so few people actually hear it. A vast majority of the western worlds music listeners could just as well have anuses for ears...
