To those from who knows how long ago on here, that say Arietta can not be attacked until the liger is defeated and those that say otherwise? When I first did the fight, I went STRAIGHT for Arietta. I whiped her out, and the liger was still alive aswell as the bird thing..so you CAN kill Arietta, without killing the Liger first.
I completly agree on that point. Typically, any character in the "Tales" Series who gets the Super Spell, INDIGNATION just kicks ass. That, and... well, the english VA for Jade.... just got the character down perfectly.
Guy was the greatest character in this game. He was Lloyd - 1 sword. He's so awesome he was remade in Tales of Vesperia :D. I had fun infinite combo-ing Van and Nebilim. :) Well, at least until they popped OL.
I used guy, tear, natalia and jade... Guy because he can use center to heal himself, Tear/natalia to serve as support and jade as a damage dealer. I don't like fighting with Guy AND luke on the same party, one of the two ends up going against the enemy's attacks and makes me waste my time healing. That's why I control one short-ranged char and have 3 long-ranged to help me. I now regret not having used Luke in this battle :<

it means Physical Attack, and you use the Capacity Cores to raise it, every level you gain with a C. Core equipped adds the stats listed on the core to your base stats (so find one with goo P. Atk and give it to a good physical attacker like Luke or Guy.) =)
Not true. Fon Master Ion gives you a C. Core on Luke and Tear as part of the story, and all characters that enter your party after that automatically have them. you also collect them over the course of the game, but thats a bit later

wait a sec...you should have your allies attack the spellcaster while you yourself keep up support and also interrupt the caster as much as possible....never died once through the whole game with tis strategy...perma-party of Luke, Anise, Tear, and Jade
haha i took my time and even found that wierdo monster that is almost impossible to beat on the 3rd battle with it and then u free its soul and get that badass sword and beat the game in less than 90 hours haha
Oh, the Sword Dancer? He was tough when I first encountered him, but then I was kinda overleveled on the last 2 battles. Still put up a great challenge though, but not as good as Nebilim.
same, i was only 64, so it was HARD lol, not nearly as hard as i thought it would be, but i had 3 life bottles so i had to rely on tear and ressurrection, i won, but with no lfe bottles, and i tapped out my lemon gels, then i realized, my guys didnt have any equips!
I actually go by a rule of no life bottles, which I break only if Tear goes down. At which point, each character is allowed to use one life bottle. This rule is invalid against the ultimate cameos, however.
I beat all three battles with jade, tear, luke and guy.
Me being Jade because one he is long range (less hits to me since I can move away), plus I can use healing items on characters when absolutely needed, without dying xD Fun battle! Love the song, thank you for posting
on my second playthrough i beat him using only Jade (I had all other teammates KOd before the fight) on Unknown mode. Then again, I gave Jade the CC that gives 4 to every stat at the beginning of the game and was at around lvl 200.
This fight is actually so simple. -.- I easily solo'd it with Guy.

When I heard the first one for the first time, I thought it had to be one of the most epic final boss themes ever.
Yeah, definitely beats out Meridian Dance, which I actually thought sounded similar to it.

you still need to kill Arietta first. if you kill the liger and the bird that are with her, Arietta will kill you.
you just have to try and work around them and focus everything on Arietta. save your life bottles for Tear (you need her for healing)

that cant be right, i defeated Arietta on my first try, taking her monsters as priority. i always kill the big boss last. i dunno how that works o.O

That isn't true. You SHOULD kill Arietta first; she's the spell caster, and also has the least amount of life.

im using a no-gel/bottles playthrough(except for panacea and status curing bottles OUTSIDE of battle...life bottles do not count :P).
