dude it doesnt even bother me that the audio is slightly different (at only about 4 times that is relatively noticeable).. this is amazing...HTL4L!!!!!!!
theres a reason why colin was lead and nick was backup. i recently saw hit the lights at the lost horizon and they were fuckin awesome but nick isnt great live. ive seen HTL live twice but am sad i never got to see colin live
Colin is the better vocalist. That's my opinion, but Nick is the man. I met him a few days ago at warped, and he is so chill. I asked him if I could get a picture with him. He responds with "FUCK YEAH!" Such a cool guy.
BTW, where was 1:54 taken at. When I saw them, there was probably 30 people. 40 tops. But it was funny because they were all like "3OH!3 who?" because they were playing at the same time. haha
I really do like Nick's voice, but I think that Colin's nasaly edge kind of trademarked the band...Kind of like New Found Glory's singer. Either way, they're still amazing.
i dont think ones really better over the other. i believe colin was better live, but i give nick props for steppin up to lead vocals. they still put on an amazing show and i love nick so much so didnt get me wrong. live i still think colin had a more solid voice. maybe nick will get into a routine and get his voice adjusted to having to sing every night and become better live but hes still a bit rusty in my opinion
"nasally and whiny" is about the dumbest bunch of bullshit i've ever heard from anyone. Nick is good, but he isn't even in the same league as Colin vocally. Colin's range is far superior, and he has a distinctive voice...Nick can sing, don't get me wrong, but its on the verge of boring and monotonous...there really is no edge. Colin, on the other hand, has one of the best voices I've ever heard...right next to Patrick Stump and Alex Garskarth. Have your opinion, but I think its a shitty one..
Colin's voice was amazing, don't get me wrong, but I just prefer Nick. His vocals sound more clean in my opinion, whereas Colin's seem a bit more nasally. Whiny definitely wasn't the correct word, I'm sorry for that. But whatever, opinions are opinions. Alex Gaskarth does have an amazing voice though. Hearing him acoustic is fucking incredible.
Listen to the AP interview that they did and the acoustic performances. Nick sang 3 songs, and he was horrible in all of them...but the worst was on Save Your Breath. You can tell that he really can't come close to Colin's vocal talents at all. I was actually thoroughly disappointed cuz I thought he was better than he really is.
I already have. I agree he sounded pretty bad on Save Your Breath, but that song was written specifically for Colin. On Stay Out and Tell Me Where You Are I thought he sounded fantastic though.
Kudos for mentioning Alex Garskarth :D My favorite to be quite honest. But Anyway, both of them have very distinctive voices and both can sing very well. But I think the better voice is just down to personal opinion. I like both albums that they have made. To be honest they both have their strength and weaknesses.
In my opinion, Colin has the most distinctive voice and his voice is way unique. However Nick is also great too. Nick is personally better but Colin is very close by.
Finally, someone recognizes Patrick Stump as an amazing vocalist. This kind of reminds me of Craig Mabbit leaving Blessthefall and getting replaced by Beau Bokan. Craig had a much farther range but Beau is producing pretty good music with them now though. In my opinion, Hit the lights isn't quite the same without Colin. His voice was so damn original
where did you get this?!?!?!

You did very well on this. Thanks for the message, and I'm glad I could help :D
Hearing this video reassured me that Nick is the better frontman. Colin was awesome, but his voice is pretty nasally and whiny.
