Nice attempt i used mega jiuce and did that to his 2 legs in the first 2 areas the last 2 i did his belly so hard he died before reaching the fort O.O and at start i bombed his head twice for the horn :D
lol u cant kill him in the first area me and my mate hacked for a laff and he was in first area being raped by high attack power (like 42000) infinite sharpness and ultimus heaven and earth lol and he stilll never died

to answer you a year late the lifespan of this judging from the time it takes to master a weapon type and considering there are 7 wep types int he MHF2 and MH2nd g which is an expansion of MHF2 prbbly 7-9 months if u rush it which is hard to do and about 1 year or so to do it right and its hard at first but with practice you'll get it :) its for those with patience determination and the ability to actually learn through experience mkay hope it helped even if it was 1a year overdue happy hunting!
Wouldn´t it be better to use the Wetstones when fighting the Lao instead of the Mini-Wetstones? I use the Minis only if I change the Area (to refresh sharpness) because when using normal wetstones you get maximum sharpness with using 1 (means more time to attack, right?).

nice video, though my question is, is there a purpose into tripping Lao? of course, you can kill elder lao with ES, but what about the strategy of hitting Lao's leg just below the tripping point, then when hes about to smack the fort, his his legs once to ruin his attack? may be useful for HR2 Lao and azure lao as well
It's a good idea to trip if you need that extra time to deal damage. My friend and I did Azure Lao a couple of times. The first time we didn't trip, and we had exactly one minute left. The second time, I tripped, and we had five minutes left.
2)polish all 10 stones. if none are a worn weapon, quit, dont save. then do 10 more quests.
3) if there is a worn weapon, count how many you had to polish to get it, minus that number by 1 (so if you got a worn weapon from the 5th polish the number would be 4), quit, dont save. then do that number of quests (so 4 quests, like raw meat gathering).
4)the next stone is definitely a worn weapon, so polish the second last ????? option at the crafting shop and it should be worn blades. upgrade it to ES

youre doing it wrong
