People, IT IS A GLITCH, there is obviously a problem with the shadow casting, because normally luigi is standing and walking around in the level area in one coded assortment, and when he goes to the phone, he does a completely different pose and what not, and the casted shadow is based off the empty frame of luigi's default shadow cast when in the areas where you move around.

On top of that, the only thing unusual about it is the fact that it's off the ground. It's hard to tell because of the crappy quality and the fact that there's a big-ass text block obscuring your view, but his head is very much intact in the shadow. It starts near the the top of the wooden arc that's on the bottom of the wall. His so-called "arms" aren't actually his arms either, but part of the vacuum (particularly the hose). On the right side of the shadow this is unmistakeable.

Actually, that looks a lot like like the common "reference pose" which is often used when creating three-dimensional models and the like. People who have played Team Fortress 2 is probably familiar with the "civilian glitch."

No, he's not being hanged, the game doesn't have a proper shadow for the way he's posed, or can't access it, as such it uses the default reference pose.

Besides, if he was hanging, why would his feet be positioned as if he was standing?

This has already been debunked. He's not being hanged. The light from the

lightening strike is actually dependent on the camera angle. His shadow is normally connected to his legs, but, as I said, that is dependent on a specific camera angle. Once the camera moves farther down it no longer displays the shadow correctly.

Just an oversight on Nintendo's part.

I know what it is. I got to thinking about it for a while, That shadow that is cast that looks like his arm sticking straight out? That would be the hose from the Poltergeist 3000. If you look at the other features it looks exactly like the weay he is standing and the way it would be cast on the wall by light at that angle. As for the fact that it is hovering above the ground, that was more than likely just a bug in the shadow development. The shadows are so complex is was probably overlooked.

This "glitch" occurs because the shadows are dynamically generated in relations with the direction of the camera. The camera was lower than Luigi, thus casting a shadow that would appear above the floor. Simple as that.

Do you know what a T-Pose is? It's the pose all game characters go into when they're being developed. His shadow must've glitched and went into the T-Pose.

Anyway, crappyfilmproduction is correct. In the suggestions, there should be a video entitled, "A Luigi's Mansion Suicide - What It Actually Is". Watch it. It will explain the shadowing and camera angle.

Did you even watch the video that proved it was just a glitch? The shadow coming off of Luigi's body is supposed to be dynamic, meaning that the shadow is placed according to lighting and the camera angle. If the camera angle is below his body, it will make it look like his shadow is floating.

As for the shadow not looking like Luigi, please refer to the T-Pose explanation.
