actualy in first two seasons it was "the rest", not until they went to color did it become"the porfessor and mary ann"

It was actually just the first season that said "the rest." Both the second and third seasons were in color and said "the professor and Mary Ann."

@they65 To the best of my memory only the 1st season was shot in B&W. The change in lyrics came at the demand of Bob Denver on contract renewal, who felt the professor & mary ann deserved equal credit with the rest of the cast in the theme song in season 2. I grew up at 6-8 years old seeing this series & remember a # of tv interviews and commentaries NOT quoted in Wiki. Research deeper dear freind. I've actually seen the true never aired pilot to this with a quite different cast.
