  • yea tomas1440 the myscubastory site has more dive stories! Type myscubastory into google and its the first one i think ..

  • wow..ive seen them multple times..they are kinda scary when they are swimming towards you

  • 4:44 "it is a very wild environment and respect is crucial"...lol...you mean bringing a spear gun

As someone once said about diving with White sharks, "an animal that size is going to make all the decisions"

  • Surely it would attack during a crash or sinking due to the amount of ferrous materials and the amount of blood being spilled, rather than down to the alleged aggression it has?

  • @Hexxedchild

No, it due to the Oceanic Whitetip's ecological niche. Namely, these sharks captialize on whatever resources are available. When people are stranded in maritime disasters, they are helpless and defenseless...and quite edible. If anything, the sharks are likely drawn to the commotion of the sinking shark. The "aggression" comes during feeding frenzies. These sharks are ruthless, ruthless sharks.

  • The famous story of when the US Air Craft Carrier sunk during WW2 (it was a secret mission so no one knew where the ship was let alone that it had sunk) Anyways The Oceanic White Sharks came in thousands and devoured hundreds of soldiers very horrible story look it up. They even talk about the story in Jaws

  • @attaqproductionz The correction probably isn't needed, but the ship sunk was the U.S.S. Indianapolis, a Cruiser, not an Aircraft Carrier.

  • I think I am officially learning more about sharks than I ever intended. My three year old nephew loves sharks. So he I look them up online for him to look at, and I like that its educational and keeps him entertained. Thanks for posting this stuff on youtube!

  • Very nice video but if this shark is "much less timid than other more dangerous sharks" then doesn't this fact make this shark more dangerous than the "other more dangerous sharks"? I am not trying to give anyone a hard time but I am only trying to learn more about sharks. I have ALWAYS had a fascination with them and this shark . . .seems lees is known 'bout it. Thanks!

  • Well you are right in some point.

As a diver it's far more dangerous to meet such a sherk than a great white because its less timid...(but it is still more dangerous to use a zebra crossing)

But in this rating they relate to the potential danger not to the real danger.

And because Tiger sharks and great whites are bigger and bite harder etc the oceanic white tip is not in the top 3.

(hope by bad english did its job and helpt you a bit)

  • Having studied sharks most of my life, pls allow me 2 chip in: Recent, & mostly yet unpublished studies show that - as opposed 2 Great White, Bull & Tiger - the Oceanic White Tip will KEEP COMING BACK after it has tasted u. This is due to the fact that the other 3 generally live close to fish-rich reefs (even tho some travel long distances) while White Tips live in open water where food is scarce.

Unfortunately, even though the trio will taste and leave, they TASTE with their mouths.

  • ohh thank you GOD, this is the shark that was about 6 feet or so away from me, I was deep in the water with my body board in ocean city, I was so triffid, I know it was a shark but I couldn't tall what shark I was, but any ways thank you GOD.

  • You are very very lucky - see my comment above. And good luck in the future!!!

    :)

  • I know, after knowing what at white tip relay is, I'm not just lucky I'm very very very luck, I think what saved me is I know not to panic

  • beautiful... great... & sweety:)
