@ejshu17 I would say right now most of the hate bandwagon resides in Montreal at the moment do to the playoff series which is going on right now (which is getting really exciting, not going to lie) and people have a tendency to notice the things that other team's franchise players do more than any other players. Its just that when he gets emotional and crosschecks people after the buzzer, or breaks his stick on the opposing teams goal post, even if its under frustration, it stands out to people.
The Canadiens have played half good hockey/half skilless trash. But, it's game 7. We'll see what happens. It is pretty amazing what they have done.
Anyways, the whole stick thing was stupid, but I think it's a little overblown. Again, it's like people just watch the game to scrutinize his every movement. He didn't pull a Keith Ballard. No real harm done (besides he was left without a stick).
@ejshu17 yeah but the Canadiens have absolutely no outstanding players in their roster. They weren't supposed to beat washington, and they weren't supposed to compete with pittsburgh. Right now it all comes down to whether or not Pittsburgh can beat Halak and the Montreal Coaching staff, both of which seem to be working miracles. I wouldn't say any of their hockey has been SKILLESS though, its hard to compete with a goaltender like fleury and a first line with Crosby and Malkin.
They have played some skilless hockey during some games. Game 6 was not a good example. At times, they have just played Penalty Kill Hockey at full strength, and just plain laid out in front of Halak. I think the last 8th Seed to make it to the Cup was the 1990-91 Minnesota North Stars. I don't think the Habs can do it (I think they lose game 7), but you never know. Let it be a good match up. And if you lose, I commend you guys. You have this playoff season interesting.

He is barely mentioned in Canada because he has little to no respect when it comes to his attitude. Montreal right now is putting 2 defensemen on him everytime he enters the offensive zone, and they play really rough with him and he hasn't "cried" once. He's a target. That's why it appears to always be him. Watch Divechkin for once and you'll see some crybaby diving and crying about things that he's never even been involved in.

In the montreal series right now, he has broken his stick on the goal post because he got poke checked, whined at the ref at least 10 times, dove, tripped 3 players without a penalty call (and even the announcers said "and the referees seem to miss yet another call on number 87) and hasn't scored a goal yet because he is too worried about bitching. He could be so much better, all he needs to do is play hockey.. I wish he would realize that the water is frozen and stop trying to dive.

I wish they had more information on the poll than just the percentage. There should be more than just "whining." Much of that was during his rookie year, and might have skewed the results for the kind of player he is now. You have one piece of evidence, that's all. No real, substantiated pattern outside of his growing year. So stop your bull about being a TRUE hockey fan. Jump off the bandwagon.

I think Cooke's a bit of a douche (on-ice, he is a good guy off of it), and I never like Jarkko Ruutu when he played for us (really dirty player). @ejshu17 I would say right now most of the hate bandwagon resides in Montreal at the moment do to the playoff series which is going on right now (which is getting really exciting, not going to lie) and people have a tendency to notice the things that other team's franchise players do more than any other players. Its just that when he gets emotional and crosschecks people after the buzzer, or breaks his stick on the opposing teams goal post, even if its under frustration, it stands out to people.

Anyways, the whole stick thing was stupid, but I think it's a little overblown. Again, it's like people just watch the game to scrutinize his every movement. He didn't pull a Keith Ballard. No real harm done (besides he was left without a stick).

@ejshu17 yeah but the Canadiens have absolutely no outstanding players in their roster. They weren't supposed to beat washington, and they weren't supposed to compete with pittsburgh. Right now it all comes down to whether or not Pittsburgh can beat Halak and the Montreal Coaching staff, both of which seem to be working miracles. I wouldn't say any of their hockey has been SKILLESS though, its hard to compete with a goaltender like fleury and a first line with Crosby and Malkin.

They have played some skilless hockey during some games. Game 6 was not a good example. At times, they have just played Penalty Kill Hockey at full strength, and just plain laid out in front of Halak. I think the last 8th Seed to make it to the Cup was the 1990-91 Minnesota North Stars. I don't think the Habs can do it (I think they lose game 7), but you never know. Let it be a good match up. And if you lose, I commend you guys. You have this playoff season interesting.
