  • Would you recommend this, or the trail np?

  • @55Outdoortrail

I found this to be a better gun out of the box.. Not my trail shoots really great, but only after I tuned it, replaced the barrel joint bushings, modified the trigger, etc.. all I had to do with the gamo is mount the scope and shoot it..

    Cheers

    Rick

  • What do you think would be the effective range in terms of power? Also with accuracy? Is the nitro piston upgrade worth the extra money? Do springs really not work well in the cold weather?

  • @55Outdoortrail

Take a look at my recent Take Aim on small game hunting with an air gun. It will help with the first part of your question. As for a nitro piston in cold weather vs a spring.. I'm not sure. I think a lot of it has to do with the quality of the spring. It also depends on the lubricant used to assemble the gun. Some will thicken significantly under certain temperatures and therefore affect the guns performance.

  • Whats the difference between this and the silent stalker IGT?

  • @cdoggy007

This has the whisper front end..

    Rick

  • Thinking of ordering this rifle, but how do you determine when you're getting the SAT trigger, and when you're getting the older trigger? They're selling both versions.

  • @mysman1

I'm not sure.. That's a good question. I must have gotten one of the newer models.

    Rick

  • i didnt get that trigger with my silent stalker whisper got the old one

  • Hey Rick can the new IGT system be fitted to the Gamo CFX ? if not where can i find a gas ram piston for the cfx.

  • @gbletas1

I believe Pyramyd Air will put one in for you.. I'm not 100% positive, but I think they will.

    cheers

    Rick

  • Could you do a review of the Gamo Silent Cat?

  • @Pigeonhunter31

It will be up to Gamo.. but I can certainly ask for one.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb If you get your hands on one i will most certainly watch it

  • @Pigeonhunter31

    I will pass it along!

    cheers

    Rick

  • I know this is off the topic of the rifle in the video, I'm thinking of getting a rifle, a springer, I live in the UK so it needs to follow the 12 ftlb law, I only have a budget of £100-£190 ($150-$250) and I wish to do small game hunting (rabbits/squirrels) what rifle should I purchase?

  • @ElCkelly

Look for a Gamo CFX or BSA Polaris.. they are good 12 FT pound guns..

    Cheers

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb cheers, and what about a scope if I were to buy one?

    Thankyou very much

    ~Connor

  • @ElCkelly

I would mount a Leapers 3-12x40 AO, MD, IR scope on the gun. That would be a really awesome package.

    Rick

  • this rifle is hold sensitive?

  • @victorgonzalezd1

It is somewhat yes. What's nice about the shape of the forearm of the stock it that it lends itself to you holding it in the same place every time which really helps.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • I will buy another gamo when they arent all plastic.

  • @Igunsmart its not plastic its composite (what the m24 stock is made of) and its a ton loads lighter

  • @TheBuckyHD

Very good point. Actually Gamo's composite stocks are really nice. If there is an area of caution with the use of composites, its in the breach. I'll be shooting this rifle a lot to see how it holds up with use.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • Hey rick I think ur video r helpful. Thank man

  • Great review Rick. May I put in some constructive criticism?

I suggest you use the cheap Gamo targets. Reason being because the paper is thicker and makes clean holes. Your targets just aren't cutting it, no pun intended. Your targets rip too easily.

Thanks for the video and wow, three vids in one day? You're on a roll! :D

  • @lambchops1493

I'll give it a shot.. also.. no pun in tended ;). I want to find some paper stock that works better. I'm between a rock and a hard place with folks want to have easy reference to the size of the groups as well.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • Hi Rick, re Hatsan, I'm looking foreward to seeing how the Dominator 200 s does..it would be awesome if you could get hold of one..it looks very nice in both the wood and synthetic, just hoping it performs as well as it looks..might be my next airgun. Cheers !

    Mark.

  • @MrMarcusx5

If all goes well I may have one sometime next month.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • now I wana sea the cfx updatetd

  • Im glad to hear Gamo has stepped up to the plate with the concerns we had. This new IGT STALKER is on my list to buy. Thanks Rick fir testing the .22

  • Now lets see if crosman can step up.

  • @ModernMan316

That a long step.. but I hope it will make them raise their game.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb yea my cousin went to the shot show and took some pics of the new crosman equipment and guns.

  • @ModernMan316

I don't think that Crosman's new guns for 2012 stands up to Gamo's new offering. The wild card for me is Hatsan's full line up no available here in the USA. I met with the CEO and have been on the phone with him a few times. I've got some products coming very soon. I'm excited to see how their products compare and stand up over time.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb Im looking at hastans products on pyramydair and wonder how well tht sniper .25 cal break barrel performs.

  • @ModernMan316

I have the mod 125 Sniper coming in tomorrow.. .25 cal. I'm also very interested to see how it does.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb it looks pretty cool and may be put down on my to buy airgun list

  • w/ the new improvements, why that stock? (i hate that stock)

  • @homeagent

The stock is the biggest improvement.. they are using the Socom Tactical type stock which I love, on some of them. They also have a new suppressor called the "Bull Whisper." On some guns they have an improved barrel joint as well.. As you can imagine.. I can't wait to get one in. Oh.. and even better.. at least 4 models will ship with an AO scope vs the standard 3-9x40.

    cheers

    Rick

  • i cant beleave how cheap these guns are in the usa! i love gas rams! i fitted a "theoben" uk made ram to my bsa supersport and have never looked back! in usa money it cost me about $100 mind. but worth every penny/cent.

  • Looks like a nice gun! I don't care for the stock all that much, does it come with any other stock ? Nice review! Thanks

  • @yohhon

They have some new models that have a standard stock.. I can't wait to get my hands on one!

    Rick

  • I have my eyes set on that Marauder in the back.

  • Nice rifle. I want to upgrade my whisper to a gas ram. My mainspring broke in 10 months of purchase and it took 15weeks for repair turn around.

Im kinda hesitant to send it back out for upgrades. ^.^

  • @roque257

Get with PyramydAir about installing a gas ram in your Whisper.. it makes a huge difference and they have a very quick turnaround.

    Cheers

    Rick
