  • cool vid dude

  • hey tony d, or anyone else, what kind of clear coat can you use on enamel paint?

  • This worked great on my Arcade machine! Thanks!

  • WOW! I did this on a race car 48 years ago. Nice Trick.

It started out by spraying a few base coats on a car and pulling it out of the garage to dry and it drizzled out, and when I saw it I immediately thought of the affect it would leave if I sprayed another color over the rain drops. Great Minds Think Alike! Yes I am that old and was doing custom painting since I was 16 years old

in 1963 That's where the Lace painting affect came from etc. Still have my original Binks Air Brush.

  • splendid

  • I'll be damned.....

  • can you use createx for this pleaseeee respond i really wonna knowww ='(

  • rly? why enamel why not water based

  • @homes24 water based paint wint float on the water. it will mix into the water drops and youll just have big black dots everywhere.

  • OMFG!!!! THANKS!!!!

  • you should be on the discovery channel ....with nubs

  • @cityboy19751 Nubs is probably using the same effects I used 48 years ago.

Yeah I'm that old, was sixteen at that time and painted in my dads Auto Body Shop.

Did allot of custom paint tricks on Bikes and Custom Cars the good old days when you used Real

Lacquer and Dupont Acrylic Lacquer, and went home stoned before you knew better...David

  • Can I set my bike-body on Fire, to get Fire Texture on my Bike?

  • @eyupstyle67 yes its the best way to do it

  • @eyupstyle67 Yes

  • @eyupstyle67 o-o.....

  • @eyupstyle67 lol no but thats a good equivalent to his lava effect.

  • this is freakin amazing.. simply awesome

  • As far as using enamel paint on this, perhaps using flat finish is better than gloss, so you can use an auto poly finish over it. Otherwise you would have to remove the gloss of the enamel so the clear would adhere better.

  • Awesome effect! Obviously you cant use this technique on a curved panel, so how do you do it?

  • Thanks for sharing nice job

  • how long need to take the water to dry...

  • Only problem is, ya can't put a good automotive clear with UV protection over enamel....

  • Comment removed

  • can I do this on lexan RC car body?

  • @braco222 yeah youst do it so that the place u want to paint is nice and even and level so that the water doesnt run :D

  • @braco222 yes u can :D

  • lol

  • you have got to be shitting me

  • It doesn't have to be enamel paint... Ive seen this same effect happen in my garage when im sanding a car down, Its very humid where i live, so its common for water to build up on glass in the morning... When im sanding, the dust collects in the droplets and causes this effect when it dries... Not to mention that there are other videos that explain how to do this, that do not require Enamel paint

  • hello air brush tricks!!!

i tried painting my waterdroplets on my hood of my suv and it came out very poorly.what to do???

  • i made this on a piece of blue plastic - painted it white - added water - and misted it black GOOOD IT LOOKS AWSOME :D

  • @hanzithaking hello there, can you give me some pointers on how to do my suv hood?? the hood is nblack and it has two yellow stripes i want the water effect like on the video or like yous came out,but i tried and it sucks!!! any ideas?? do i have to repaint the hood black all over??? and start from scratch???

  • @nightswan1984 u can keep the black and youst with a spray can mist it from about 1-1½ feet away u might not see it when the paint stil is wet but u need a heat source to make the water evaperate cuite fast and that should do the trick :D and u need to remove the old water effect

  • @hanzithaking hello, thanks for the input do tyou have pics of your work??? can we exchange emails so that i can see the results of your work?? also i do not have a heat lamp and heat gun is a no no right??

  • @nightswan1984 yeah i can send u some pics of my works but u need something or somewhere its hot enough to make the water evaperate

  • @hanzithaking i am doing the paintin g on my truck on my garage is that place ok to work in??

  • @nightswan1984 yeah if youst it isnt to cold that could make the clear paint faint or not cure right and remember to cover the truck before doing this

  • @hanzithaking my email is reneal@live,.com

hope we can share airbrushing pics' and hope my project turns out better the second time around

  • @nightswan1984 yeah good luck and send me your mail then ill send some of my creations :D

  • any idea on how long it will take for the droplets to evaporate in like 70 -80 degrees

  • @LikeABossAirsoft The drying time is going to totally depend on heat, ventilation, humidity and size of water droplets but at 70-80 fahrenheit it should not take too long.

Easy way to test, put a drop of water on a piece of plastic and leave it. See how long it takes.

  • How wet does the water need to be?

  • Should I use Dasani or Evian wich is the best?

  • amaizing :)

  • this is coool.!!!

  • dude! that wuz a hot trick.

  • going to spray my tractor and moped. Any tips?

  • @KarpeDiemRapper Spray the Tractor pink! You will get mad respect from the other farmers. haha.

  • dude that is EPIC!!!

  • Use distilled water .....not sure what he meant by regular lol

  • cool, nice work

  • that gave me a boner

  • u dont u get itn from the tap lol

  • Any suggestions on how to do this effect on canvas??

  • Wow, I think I saw Chip Foose do it that way on a car on OverHualin TV show, looks easy, and it looks awesome!

  • LOL! How can Ed Hubbs do it better when this is just a quick demo?

As it happens I was watching Mr Hubbs demo yesterday

  • Ed Hubbs does it better.......

  • Only cos Ed used an airbrush with which he could control the psi and a spray can you can't do that you usually have a choice of just high or low pressure....

  • @BowerBomB ,Cool.I stand corrected,Cheers

  • sothen does it have much texture to it?

  • you should mention not to move it! let it dry completely!

  • Badass

  • sick camo in the background

  • @stopcraponutube nice one:))

  • @stopcraponutube what for ur house ddd its free

  • @stopcraponutube haha classic man.

  • @stopcraponutube a paint shop?

  • Have you used multi-colors from different angles?

I have a navy blue shelf and want to create this effect on the entire shelf. What colors do you recommend for an explosive effect?

  • i've done a dark blue before maybe not a navy but if you start with a light silver (and i meen light, dont over do it), and then finish with white pops really well. also try gray's and white etc.... all paints around that end of the spectrum look sweet (and in my opinion the only to go for with a blue)

  • wow this is a nice water effect

  • can you do this effect on a cardboard backboard

  • Thanx a lot

  • why use enamel paint?

what happends if i use regular spray paint?

it's important for me, pls let me know

  • If you wetten the surface wit water, you have to use non-waterbased colours. Otherwise the paint would mix with the water.

  • He means make sure you use an oil based paint. If it says enamel on the can its most definately oil based. All spraycans are oil that I know of. He was stressing that for people who use an airbrush or airless setup because you can use waterbased acrylics with those. Peez out

  • For a t shirt. I'd try making drops of someting with bigger particles. Like glycerine. Idk if that wud work. But that's wut I wud try

  • For "T" shirts and other clothing you spray or wash in NikWax water repellent as used for ski clothing which will make the water bead. Then the fogging of the paint and drying will work in a very similar fashion.

  • What do you mean by at the end... Used a clear coat..? what should be used..?

  • Looks awesome! im gonna spray my table like that :)

  • Thatz cool....Say... Imma T shirt artist... How wood I do dis onna t shirt?

  • @Neeff89 if you can find out a way to keep the water drops from soaking in to the shirt then you'r good to go, i could be done i guees with putting water on a already painted surface of the t-shirt so the water doesnt soak in

  • I think this is a simple technique with a stunning effect, it looks really good, well done.

  • don't fucking dis rattle can spray paint

  • what clear coat u use what paint what would i need to ask for???

  • 007ecosse you make a very good point. Its not stupid at all. And uneekspark your attitude stinks. He says on there you can use a air brush. I think this is an awsome and simple affect very well explained. Thanks Airbrushtricks :D

  • thanks!!

  • Too much paint.

  • what is the texture of the surface after its all done?? is it smooth or bumpy?

  • smooth

  • why would it be smooth if it has water on the surface???

  • the water evaporates leaving the appearence of water drops

  • sry i didnt pay atention to the stuff.,sry :)

  • @spawnron2 - i think once you put a few layers of clear coat it smoothens out. i did a 360 controller the other day, and the texture went away after about the 3rd layer of clear coat.

  • @spawnron2 clearcoat> wetsand> clearcoat= smooth

  • @spawnron2 Well imo if you clear coat it a few times (i'm assuming you ask for a car or similar), put a good few layers on then flat it back for a glassy finish like any other panel, it'll come out smooth!

  • @spawnron2 its smooth

  • Very nice indeed, just thinking though wouldn't a fine spray from the opposite direction in a lighter trnsparent shade make it stand out and look more like the light source the shadows came from? Just a thought, probably a stupid one though.

  • where can i get some clear coat

  • anywhere that sells spray paint should sell clear coat

  • wats the bame of the song ? cool work!

  • that was cool, subscribed!

  • If you moved your finger over the 'drops' would they eventually wear off. Say i used this effect on an xbox 360 controller, will those drops chip/wear off?

  • The water gets wiped off its not a 3d thing just a 3d look.

  • the water doesn't get wiped off, it is allowed to evaporate either by putting the painted piece under a heat lamp or by just allowing it to sit over night. wiping the water off would do nothing more than smear the paint and ruin the effect.

  • yes they will wear off. To make it so they dont wear off let the paint dry then add a clearcoat.

  • not if you put on a clear coat....i mean if you drop it or scratch it that would be different .

  • do you thnk blue and white would look good?

  • whats Nemo paint help pls?
