There's this cafe that sprung up in a city near my own run by this hate-encouraging preacher who likes yelling about how evil gay people are. Only about a week after the news covered his "grand opening" (luckily not skimping on the details on his views and how harmful they could be, thank f*&k), it was found that the manager he hired was a sex offender that hadn't registered. It's sickening.

Yes there have been many horrible sexual abuse cases in the Catholic church and it's very wrong but I think it's a bad stereotype to say all Catholics or the church is bad, do u think it's the only abuse in a christian church. I think it's just such a large one and therefore there are so many more cases. Many like the pack-one-pack-all approach when referring to the Roman Catholic Church. If one finds fault from among the people of the Church, he then concludes that all of them do or tolerate such fault. One may even become too much harsh and unfair by just saying mockery against the Church. Question now, "is that act (mockery) good and righteous?" Anyways, the Church is not just for saints, but also for sinners. why not pray for them the sinners? Please don't get astray with pride and greed.

It cannot be proven that the Catholic Church is solely responsible for the gathering and selection of the New Testament books. In fact, it can be shown that the New Testament books were gathered into one volume and were in circulation long before the Catholic Church claims to have taken its action in 390 at the council of Hippo.

Their writings did not need to be deemed worthy of inclusion in the Canon of Scripture by a later group of men in the so-called Roman Catholic Church. To make such a claim is, in effect, to usurp the natural power and authority of God himself.

Even if that were not the case, Paul's neglect at mentioning Peter, in Romans 16, is INEXCUSABLE, if Peter were Head of the Church. There is no evidence for the Papacy from Peter himself.

Matthew 16:18 has been quoted repeatedly over the centuries to try to support this position. But it is just that: one verse. And there are varying interpretations of it. Why would God call rome both "rome" and "babylon"?

The thing that irks me at this whole thing is the attitude the Catholic Church and frankly many Catholics have taken. Apologies and statements of 'regret' are not good enough, nor is simply expecting the victims to forgive and forget. Only criminal prosecutions for those found guilty will represent justice. Why the hell should clergy be above the law as certain Catholics seem to argue? If the Papacy really wants to improve its image then it will accept that the guilty must meet legal justice.
