This car used to belong to Nancy and Gordon Gimbel (sp?). Nancy passed away some years ago. Can anyone tell me who the current owner is? That's not Gordon's car hauler it's parked behind in this video.
Was that car at Monterey this year? They had a great Dan Gurney display, but that car wasn't in it. I thought I remembered seeing it on track though.
Well the original Lotus 19 tail lights were minimal.
With a different, pointy nose and a rear spoiler this car ran the 1965 Daytona 2000 km race, with a 325 cid engine putting out 425 hp. It lead for 8 hours until the Colatti gearbox packed up.
So it NEEDED better lights for night racing, because nothing there could out brake it.... daylight or dark

Great blend between 427 engine power and a classic Lotus style chassis,usually light and nicely performing for a good handling.
I guess it was not an easy car though...
