I knew there was reverse discrimination in racing! Marc Davis is a supporter of the Word Network Channel and that Brendan was pissed off because Marc is a cheater in all races!

As to racism, I've seen enough reverse racism that I don't want to hear it. I've seen black girls walk four wide so that my 70 yr old mother had to step off the curb to keep going. I told her when they were walking toward her that they would not let her pass and she didn't believe me. My mother had smiled at them and said hello and that's the answer she received. So, who's racist? There are so many blacks that just need to grow up and learn to live in society like everyone else.

I totally agree with you, that's hypocrisy at it's finest right there. They have no problem calling each those other words or listening to those words in their music, but when somebody else says it they get all pissed off. The way I see it, Marc's team is trying to make this a racism issue rather than apologize for their mistake.

Gaughan's crew chief was wrong for not watching what he was saying(that is if he did say it....)but you can't blame him or the rest of the crew for being pissed.Davis's spotter should of cleared him before letting him hang the left to the garage...so overall it was just a racing deal.

I can appreciate your sentiments and agree with them in some respect. The crew chief does deserve to be suspended (it is yet to be determined if he will be fired). But I think your comments also put you in the same category as Gaughan's suspended crew chief. Except you can't be fired for making those comments. On the other hand, I don't think you should refrain from speaking your mind. Obviously Gaughan's crew chief wasn't watching his mouth....but he is free to do that just like you. Peace.

If you have ever met Brendan, he is a very fan friendly person. I've seen him bend over backward to speak to a handicaped child. Marc and his spotter are at fault here. They cost a top ten (points) team a top 15 finish. Go #62

He wasn't very friendly when he and his team came up to Marc yelling and cussing at him and using inappropriate language and yelling over the radio about making Marc stay at the track. Marc isn't a want-to-be college graduate, he is only 18 years old and hasn't even had the chance to go to college yet. I know one of Marc's primary sponsors, WHUR, wasn't very pleased with what Brendan had to say about getting a better degree at Georgetown. The whole incident is in NASCAR's hands now anyways.

Actually, according to the NASCAR official rule book, a car isn't allowed to pass another car on the left side going down pit road. Marc's car was running poorly due to an electrical problem (the alternator wire connected to the battery was fried) hence the fact he was running such slow lap times towards the end. Marc was told on the radio to bring it in to the garage and shut it down seeing no position would be gained or lost for him if he did or did not finish the race.

This happened to Randy Lajoie in the Bisch race in 1999 at Talladega. He west to pit and Ed Berrier took a hard left into the garage and Lajoie got a hunge chunk of his bumper damaged. Not quite as severe as this one, but same situation.
