  • that bro talking about the influence of Prince on early house was music was absolutely right. I mean there were a ton of ingredients to house - disco + post-disco (i.e. Levan-type stuff), synthesizer funk + boogie, Kraftwerk + Moroder + early italo, synth-pop, + on + on, but Prince was definitely one. anyone who listens to this + can't hear that ain't listening. electronic soul music you know.

  • House Music will never die.

  • Such a tune - timeless classic ( check out the Obama shirt @ 2 mins :)

  • Prince is obviously a heavy influence on the Chicago House music scene in the 80's. Listen to Jamie Priciple / Frankie Knuckles- Baby wants to ride and you'll hear elements of Erotic City ...

  • @jhunter1021

I have to disagree with you Jhunter1021 with the prince comment..

  • @jhunter1021 U know u got that backwards, right?

  • Paradise Garage, whatever!!! You should have come to Chicago. The Music Box, LaMirage, Medusas, Mendel, and The Warehouse!

  • nice....but it ain't no PARADISE GARAGE on Saturday night in the late 70's with Larry Levan and that SYSTEM !!!

  • @dirtyedna Larry played on a Richard Long system. Uhh, The Music Box & Warehouse BOTH had Richard Long Systems...so what are you really talking about as of THAT system. RLA System is the proper name of it.

As of House Music...the start is Chicago and the only common thread between New York & Chicago is - Richard Long EXCEPT Ron Hardy did modifications to the RLA that was unherd of, even by Richard himself.

  • @lrmxr1 Hey those are the initials in my name! RLA! and, you're my FB friend! :-)

  • BEST VERSION! THANKS!!!!

    thanks again man

  • Actually, being from Chi, I know that there was some beef betwen Frankie, jamie, Hatchett, etc. This song was supposed to be "outing" Frankie as some rumors about his sexuality were floating (although, the later proved true) Then Frankie was supposed to have come out with a reply(remix). Ronnie pumped it 1st alot of cats didnt know about the beef, they just went F@#$KIN crazy when Ronnie played it. Same for "Your Love".
