Ouch. I've got a sneaking suspicion the pair of them were stoned. The guy explaining how to ride the bike is almost entirely to blame, he basically told the learner rider to pull the clutch lever to stop. Didn't anyone tell him where the brake lever was?

Another way to tell if the bike is in neutral is when its off and NOT running try to move it forward if the tires roll its in neutral...never rely on a neutral light.

mate lots of harsh comments! some deserved of course ;-) but i learnt to ride on a mates GSXR750 in a (bigger) car park (though i had a lid on) and i nearly did the same thing. if youve NEVER had a go on a bike before your brain just freezes and you shoot off very fast!!! glad you only got a sore beak out of it. dont let it put you off!
