  • I was the biggest skeptic for the new edition. But I tried it and it really isn't bad. After playing one campaign in 4 and going back to 3.5 with another group.I felt like the old edition was boring. And you don't even need a computer-its only for people who find it easier to keep up with stats and such with a word processor.

It really isn't that bad so everyone quit moaning about it.

This video showed how every edition had its good and bad points and 4.0 changed for the times like the others.

  • So. It's more complex, but now we use a laptop? Nice.

  • hey noooobs y dont u start with wow? d&d sucks!

  • wow has nothing on D&D

  • Because D&D may take 1 day at week, au contraire WoW can take 7 on 7 days.

    Ciao.

  • I wish wizards would give a discount for 4e if we had 3.5e books.. I dont' want to shell out hundreds of pounds more :(

  • omg, i can't wait!

  • ...I don't want to buy new books :(

  • Do we really need a new ed? We just got 3.5, after like 20 someodd years between 2&3! Good lord! Let's let one get a few scuff marks before trading it in asshats.

  • ..Why do we need a new edition? Didn't we JUST get 3.5? with like 20 someodd years between 2 and 3? Good lord! Slow the frell down.

  • Great idea to have a set up that show the earlier edition, but heck, all the jokes fall flat.

Their set up of the 4th edition remind me of a production meeting at the office, with the the laptop and all. Not really tempting so far.

  • Lame City. Next time, get professionals to do your presentation.

  • Wow. That was one giant nerd joke. Which, of course, I got. I groaned aloud when he wanted to grapple... Speaking of nerd jokes, those trolls will all be fine.

  • the nerd kingdom shall forever be in turmoil

    at least, til 2008

  • Please send me the video: DUNGEONS & DRAGONS 4th Edition:Teaser.

    It's Beautiful.

    Thanks

  • I will certainly take a look at 4E but unless it seriously impresses I don't see a conversion in my future. I really believe this is just WOTC trying to rake in more profits from our game.

  • So umm...someone told me 4th edition uses a d30. Please tell me this is not true :(

  • Though some of the situations did parallel our games, it wasn't really funny.

  • Couldn't Wizards like, implement tools for character creation & customizeable tiles for the 3.5 edition? I mean the only reason it is slow is because it's so messy with all those references.

    Computer assistance = good

Computer dependency = KILL IT WITH FIRE!

    (like that troll)

  • Okay, to all the boneheads who haven't figured it out yet... YOU DON'T NEED TO USE A COMPUTER. It's an optional thing, for if someone can't attend the game, cuz they're out of town or something. It IS OPTIONAL! Quit whining, give it a chance, have some fun.

  • Well, I'm intrigued. I recently heard about 4.0, and I'm definitely going to get the books, but I'm not so sure I'm gonna convert. Only problem is that I heard it's supposed to be "easier" than 3.5, which of course completely ruins the entire purpose of DnD: the complexity weens(sp?) out those who aren't willing to learn the rules of play.

  • why do we need a 4th edition? the 3rd was only four years ago!

as for the video... um, did they delibarately choose a guy with a really bad accent to be politically correct?

  • Worst promo video EVAR!

Ok, buy into our latest gimmik. We've heard this all before...and the dork with the accent isn't doing ANYTHING to convince me otherwise. If anything, he's irritating me and I find his accent both annoying and distracting. I guess this person is supposed to make the game seem refined, and sophisticated.

  • so? our characters will be stronger and we will decapitate all trolls? role play is not only dice and rules it is in your head this dnd thing is just a commercial effort not about roleplaying

  • this is really good lol

  • Looking at the stuff I've seen about 4th edition so far, it feels like 1st edition, but moves faster and smoother than any D&D there's ever been. Yes, Wizards of the Coast wants to make money. What business doesn't? Nobody has a business and says "Boy, I hope it fails." All I'm saying is give it a chance, try it out. You might actually have fun in the process.

  • So... they promote the new edition, by dissing the previous editions?

  • UGGGHHHHH!!!! Damnit...WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER EDITION!

  • I am a shame to be a part of the RPGA.Why did they do this to me.There are more than sixty lore books for 3 and 3.5 ed.More than sixty!Actualy close to a hundred.I'm taking a piss in Larry's coffee mug for this.

  • That new logo is bad

  • If I could receive free laptop within the game setting, maybe it COULD look so futuristic "game play" :D

  • this is the stupidest waste of time, what a boaring video

  • If i didnt find the link to this from the D&D Wizards site i would swear it was a piss-take.

I agree with sp33dd3wd. This is no way to "sell" the hobby i love. Ithink i need to talk to my GM about can we not convert????

  • 2nd rules!

    3,5th is good!

4th ruins it man! Ruins it!

  • What I personally find sad is that Wotc is probably going for "nice&sweet&generic" worlds like Greyhawk and Forgotten Realms in the most über-magic way as possible with magic shops around every corner.

I really, really miss Planescape and Dark Sun and it's unforgivable that Wotc abandoned the fans there...

  • NOt funny. An unresearched attempt at humor. You are THE TROLL for defacing a game that is more clasic than the classics, themselves.

You owe all serious gamers an apology.

  • The real problem is that WOC deals too much with boards an miniatures and rules. The game was never intended to be this way. It's NOT a board game. That was the beauty of D&D...

It feels like they are just finding new ways to profit, that are empty of content.

I hope I would be surprised to see that it's not that way.

I just don't really buy that "the game will remain the same" slogan ...

  • Indeed, I got the D&D basic game and it only owrked with the nefty pieces in the box (minature, tiles and all). Which are really fine play aid, this most not the other way around where the accessories take the lead.

Anyway, we'll see about this one...

  • I don't know if I'm as negative about 4E as some people are... 3E can be really messy at times, and I'm quite excited about smoother and fairer gameplay. If SW Saga is anything of a preview, characters seem to be more 'open' and less restrictive - in 3E they seem born for their one role in that party - as if 50% of the character classes have no social skills... Still, I'll buy the core rule books, not the onlibe D&D tools subscription, I don't really like the idea of laptops at the gaming table.

  • Gee this video makes me want to go run out and re-buy all my books for $35 a piece... not. 4th edition the role playing game version of new Coca cola. Well one good thing come out of this, I won't have to spend a ton of money buying new 3rd edition books.

  • Maldita porquería, regresen nos 2a!!!!!!!!!

    Malditos idiotas ¬¬

  • when you having your brains in your head the game play is clear ,and the rules are good when you will read ph dmg lots of fucking times. otherwise this game is saint this GAME IS LEGEND

  • the blond try to kill as many trols he can from 1978 til 1989?

  • Hey why didn't they admit that 3rd edition was unplayable BEFORE 4th edition's imminent release? It's almost enough to make you cynical.

  • Wizards just buys successful stuff and milks it for every penny. MTG=ruined D&D=ruined.

Just wait for these v.4 books to hit p2p and snatch them for a WOTC worthy p2p price. Print your own MTG cards on regular paper and stuff them in sleeves. They play just as good. Screw WOTC and the net ($) version of D&D

  • I have never understood what was so darn hard about grappling or attacks of opportunity based on movement or anything. IT WAS EASY!!

  • Exactly! It' sall just opposed checks!

  • Save your Dungeons and Dragons! when asked say no to 4th Edition!

  • Deep storylines and amazing roleplaying? I must've been playing with the wrong group. And Destriarch, you have to roll for Balance first. The lint is dangerously close on the edge of a trash bin.

  • i have played all three previous additions of D&D, i loved all three. this streamlined 4th crap is retarded. playing from you laptop?! some people dont have laptops?! why not just play WoW?! what is wizard think? that well buy the 10,000 4th books? right. hear me now fans of D&D 1st, 2nd or 3rd, boycott this blaspheme! dont play this rip of WoW! D&D is suppose to be the god of the gaming world. 4th will make it a joke.

  • I hate the idea of a World of Warcraft style D&D, 3.5 worked, second ed worked PLAY THE OLD SCHOOL STUFF.

  • this is the death of D&D, its getting closer to playing a video game, and its taking the imagination out of the process! I dungeon master way better than that geek...

  • Is this the paper version of D&D or the miniature version. For anyone who actually cares, I got into the miniature version recently.

  • What's up with the accent?

  • WIzards is a corporation, corporations outsource, it' ssublte hints at the fact that your games are being mass produced in sweat shops.

  • In short, the game is molded to fit the gamers...since we are coming along in a very computer dominating world and people can't always find the players they need in their neighborhood.

Though I agree that pen and paper is quite fun, since that's what I use ever since I discovered D&D just before 3rd edition came out.

P.S.: My favorite part of D&D is actually writing the background for my character and living out the story, not bashing randomly on monsters.

  • The pathhhion wathhh there man. I-twathhh theeere

  • The narrator here is going to scare everyone away from the game... Who was the idiot that thought this guy should be in the video?

  • Can anyone get a clearer image on that bit where they show the characters on that bit of the teaser where they show their classes (3.32 out of 4.10)?

I am assuming 2 of them are fighters, a warlord I'm not sure of the other...

  • I had no problem with his accent, I just thought they should have used the lint!

So there's a thief, a fighter and a cleric in the first game?

In the 2nd still a fighter, a thief and...?

Grapple? where's the mage and the fireball..?

I like the game table, just hope I can get to use it before I get charged for the privilege so I can find out if its worth it... and god do I hope it will be worth it!

  • Great!

  • The commentator was very annoying. Fake accent

  • the problem whit the net suscriptions is than in a country like mexico, the consumer only can pay whit credit card.

  • Aside from the occasional strange rules, grapple, sunder, and especially bull rush, I think 3.5 works just fine.

Oh and the whole polymorph/wild shape erratta was long overdue, it was so bad orginally, druids took like an hour to make up.

  • Ok... I have to say it. Cutting a troll's head off does not deal lethal damage to it!

  • I am SOOO glad I never got into 3rd edition. This video is self destructive. Why switch editions if the "game will remain the same"? First Edition was around for 11 years, Second edition for 14. Now after 8 years they have the nerve to make you all switch again. My group just switch from second edition to Kenzer and Company's Hackmaster system, that was just a revised second edition. Sorry you all have to live through this again.

  • I have played all editions of the rules. I have bought all editions of the rules. I have enjoyed all editions of the rules. Yet, nothing beats Dungeons and Dragons as it was when it was first edition. Today it is a totally commercial sell, I will definitely agree with that. That is the problem with the new D&D.

  • nooooooooooooooooo i buy the 3.5 and this happens!

  • F***ing grapple rules...

Seriously though, it's like they're trying to reassure us. We'll see WotC...we'll see.

  • the worst enemies of roleplayers are in fact roleplayers, though i was an old school player with second edition dnd, it really sucked rules wise, third edition was good and my wallet got in the way of most of the stuff for 3.5, gave it a chaance and it was good.

  • Why is he french? Seriously, is there a huge untapped market of vaguely eurotrash gamers wandering around the US bemoaning the lack of market focus on them?

  • I think Id like to put on my +20 shirt of smiting and smit the fake french narrorator of the video.

The game has not remained the same since wizards of the coast bought out TSR! Hell WOTC couldn't even pay the artists that illustrated the Magic the gathering cards. I will not be playing 4th edition. 3.5 books are already costing me an arm and a leg. Still with +20 shirt on I smite WOTC! and I hit for one gillion points of damage.

  • ill just stick with my 3.5 tankyou very much. Oh and screw attacking the lint, throw a rock at a great wyrm... thats where the funs at!

  • LMAO "I grapple the Troll!"

  • How stupid.

  • This kindna make wanna go play DnD 3rd edithion where did I left my dices???

  • Our trolls regenerated..... you had pussy trolls.

  • laptop role playing might as well be WoW. pen and paper is the only way to play DnD.

  • oh and zskatez

I am a nerd I watch anime and play magic as well XD

  • Wouldn't playing on a computer limit the possible actions?

  • its finally nice to see people who actually PLAY d&d making fun of themselves that part about the grapple move and everyone looking through their books was priceless. rad vid

  • O hellz yeah.

Looks pretty great. Can't wait to bust out the Rogue/Shadowdancer/Assassin again. That guy was Ninja to the max!

  • as a seasoned vet and female gamer (back off boys...) I am very eager to see this new set-up, the streamlined computer integration aspect is fascinating and should make the job of the DM far less stressful. I look forward to starting my own campaign using this new system. D&D forever!

  • Boo hiss Wizards. Shame on you. A fourth edition? already? Third Ed. hasn't even been out that long let alone 3.5. Just gouging us for money.

  • he grapples the troll well its obvious that he will be attacked by an attack of opportunity . the point is: dont grapple the troll or you gonna hurt , D&D rules are clear enough otherwise we are old school D&D players hail, and hail the forgotten realms :)

  • that dude sounded a little like fez from that 70 show!!!

  • second edition all the way. f%&k this crap, wizards of the coast at it again to make a buck. tsr did a great job, bring em back, did wizard buy em out??

  • How is grapple a hard concept?

  • 3rd edition and 3.5 look all weak; like some gay Japanese anime rpg bullshit.

2nd edition (AD&D) art was the shit, it used to give nightmares.

Of course 3rd edition has very good and easy rules.

  • Maybe it is time for me to drag out my 1970s white box edition (that would be the original set), just for kicks and giggles.

This "teaser" does nothing to get me interested in forking over hundreds of dollars for yet another edition. The group I am playing with now currently uses 3.0 rules with some of the newer supplements incorporated in on a very limited basis.

stupid video with a stupider front "man".

  • omfg a mofo, learn to speak english..

  • ...the gameplay was deep???

Heck with this, I am attacking the LINT!

  • I'm with you on that one, mate!

  • you too...? :)

  • even though DnD Tactics for PSP looks good

  • I just dug out my 1st Edition DMG & PH, and started a campaign using those rules.

Of course, we'll be making our own modifications.

    OLD SCHOOL, YO.

  • I just dug out my 1st Edition DMG & PH, and started a campaign using those rules.

Of course, we'll be making our own modifications.

    OLD SCHOOL, YO.

  • This is preposturous. Both the video and the idea of yet another version of D&D. It's to the point where all they are coming out with a new versions for is to make yet more money off another set of 50 or so related books. This is apparently to include a internet version now as well...awsome, kill D&D a bit more and take away the imagination and true roleplaying that made D&D what it was. A farce I say, screw Wizards and their money grubbing ways.

  • Spot on man, to qoute the laughable french guy "there is room for refinement" my answer - its called HOUSE RULES. I have a large amount of the third edition books, worth in total £120 +. Now WoTc want me to buy all new books? screw that !

  • 2nd edition rules...

    This shit sucks... :P

  • :P

This shit sucks... I prefer to play Temple of Elemental Evil on my PC...

    ououououououo...... bliah....

    2nd edition RULES!!!!

  • Yes, the Haze Brothers and their Bean Counters are going to for the hard sell here. And then I have to watch this "promotional" vid! It makes DnD - and the players -- look utterly retarded. Thanks guys! WotC advertising drones missed Advertising 101: To sell something, you associate it with something POSITIVE. I.e not not that pack of dressed-up clueless chimps. I can't wait for next year, when I'll see French Mutant diss 4E in favour of 5E, which is what all the "cool kids" will be playing.

  • Ok, so lemme get this straight...they're moving to digital content...a new edition a mere 4 years after 3.5, and basically just raping our wallets again? Yeah...where the hell do I sign up?

    So glad I don't play D&D anymore.

  • Was THAT a teaser ? well if it was than it was the worst one I've ever watched :) Truly it is not "teasing" it was frustrating.

  • stuff this for a game of soldiers ill stick with 3.5

DnD 4 the quest for more money

  • Yeah this is kind of crap. We've spent a small fortune on books for crying out loud! I like the "book smell" to quote Giles from Buffy and I won't be techno-ed out. Although, if 3.5 is getting phased out, then maybe I can load up on tons of clearance D&D books since I know my group is sticking to 3.5.

  • Praise 4th edition!!!!!

Easy flame-ready friends. I'm just excited that 3.5e books should come down in price :D Otherwise, I have no use at all for this "4th" edition.

  • 1978-1989 okay almost 11 years, 1989-2003 cool! about 14 years, Now WHAT? 2003-2008? only 5 little years? WHAT THE FUCK? Its WAY too soon

  • This su**s! :-(

  • By my count (using the dates given in the above commercials):

    1st-2nd Edition: 11 years

    2nd-3rd Edition: 14 years

    3rd-4th Edition: 5 years

...not to mention the 3-3.5 gap...

  • ummm... 3e came out in 1999... it's 2007. 8 years. 3.5 was a simple revision, not a new edition. Get with the program.

  • Angry remark.

Comparison between Wizards and Microsoft, unless Wizards just capsizes instead and drags D&D with it.

    Muttered disparagement concerning Wizards' parentage.

    Please view accompanying hand gesture.

  • wowo this made me pissed those players are idiots and only an idiot would play real DnD ON A COMP SERIOUSLY IT SHOULD STAY ON PENCIL PAPER AND BOOKS NOT ON A STUPID COMPUTER(but i have nothing against computers)

  • 1st of all WE are NOT that stupid players and DMs. 2nd , a normal charachter (human - elf) with no extra str or divine-arcane power CAN GRAPPLE A TROLL!

as a rule mode , no middle size can grapple a large size.(logically) 3rd , what does this video give us about 4th Edition? I don't see anything... As a personal opinion , 3,5 edition was making the game more like a power play video game. I mean the spells was so powerful and spell belongings was changed unwisely.

  • first off goddamn that narrator needs to be smacked

2nd, this is disgusting, completely ruining the game...

its not a game n e more nows its just a way to make money...

  • Now those of us who never switched from original D&D get to see you 3etards whine. Shakespeare was right, "Thus the whirligig of time brings in his revenges." Ha-ha!

  • And those of us who've kept current get to laught at you for being a message board troll who misquotes Shakespeare and mocks others to feel superior.

  • just bang the troll XD chaaaarge

that's not grapple it's more like a hug xD

  • The best way to take care of a troll is to make a tumble check to roll through its legs. Then you make a climb check to climb its hairy back. You then have to wait a turn because it took 2 actions to do this so far. Make a balance check if the troll tries swatiing you off. When it gets to your turn again, Pumel its brains out with a furry of blows.

    Monks Rule!!!!

  • Try fireball or flaming sphere or burning hands but most importantly cast by someone else so you can peper it with arrows or set fire to a floor that has been soaked with flasks of oil so it has to go throught the flames to reach you and it still allows you to run away at least far enough to set up another trap/ambush without it getting into reach and thats even more important!

  • WTF. Now I really don't want to touch 4E. What is this crap?

  • I'm willing to bet this exact same kind of doomsaying that's so prevalent here probably also took place when second edition was announced. And we know it did when third was. And yet none of those have killed/ruined D&D, despite what the whiners profess.

The edition people are most accustomed to is always the "best" to them. Anything else is THE END OF TEH WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!

  • Yeah it'll remain the same... kill things to get their loot to buy bigger weapons to kill bigger things to get their loot to buy bigger weapons to kill bigger things to get their loot to buy bigger weapons... oh and dragons in a dungeon!

  • 14 years ... 11 years ... 4 years

    What next, 6 months?

  • Look people, modern players use computers, it's a fact of the game. If you started playing in like 1989 or something, stick with what you like. But mine young. Highschool aged, modern, and forward-thinking. My table has been figureing out ways to incorperate computers since we realized it was easier to mess with a Char. Sheet on a laptop. And honestly, what the narrator says is true "Its the same game". They're just stremlineing it.

  • I'm into 3.5, I think 4th edition is just a way to make more money from the sales of new books and stuff.

  • whats the addrees of the internet books?

  • someone does a page where I can find the books?

  • I grapple the troll! Bitch I got improved grapple and 3 levels in reaping mauler PrC *Chokeslam of death!!"

  • Now that was pretty funny, especially the THAC0 comment and book searching! But two things, one why use trolls when decrapitaing them does nothing...except for the one dude with the flameing sword that didn't actually get to go. And B, what's with that halfass accent??

  • Start the revolution. Back to 1st edition. Make up your rules, feets and all the other silly nonsense. Use your imagination to run your campaign as a DM. Why do you need 3.5 anyway.

  • I don't know why everyone voted so low, and why everyone is whining so bad. I mean, I'm just gonna hit the store and but the 4.0 PHB right away. Read it, and if I prefer 3.5, simple, I play 3.5. If I don't I will learn 4.0 and convert 3.5 to 4.0 for a bit where I find it nessicary.

3.5 consisted only out of books. They just want the ease of digitalization, and I understand and support that.

    The video was awesome, imo.

  • I haven't played D&D in a few years, so I don't know what the changes are in 4.0, but this teaser video was fantastic. Lovvved the narrator, too.

  • lol D&D is boring either way.....people take the game far to seriously......retarded xD

  • Awesome! This means all the 3.5 books I havent got are about to become real cheap. However, I'm not paying these unclef**kers another cent for a rehash of the same old books. The guys in the video should grapple the annoying wad in the video and cram that laptop up his chute

  • Hahah, THAC0.

  • Seriously. I've already spent what, $100 on the 3.5 rulebooks. 3.5 is complicated enough, and hell, if this isn't EXTREMELY different, I'm not upgrading.

  • Grapple...LOL! it takes him so long to decide.....like my friend LEO!!!!!! LEV!!!! LEV !!! YES ITS MEEE!!! HAHAHAA

  • WTF?...They are going to make Dungeons&Dragons into computer game? I thought they are going to change the rulles because some of them are annoying and not realistic, but what is the point in gathering your friends at friday evening to play a PC game?...assholes...

  • Sticking with my 3.5. If I wanted to play a computer game version of D&D I would play THE computer game D&D. They aren't taking it anywhere but down by making this dick move.

  • Why would you want to grapple a troll in the first place?

  • yeah thats not a smart idea

  • Well...I'm sticking with 3.5 and self-written adventures from now on.

As long as they don't stop printing the books I need for my campaign until after I've bought them.

  • same here, i only got the stuff like a year ago

  • yea dude, I prefer pen and paper DnD anyday....

  • What kind of shitty DM doesn't know how to work grappling? I mean, come on, dude. And if it's that hard, buck the rules and do what DMs have ALWAYS done: make something up.

  • What? Creativity getting in the way of standardization? Blasphemy! ;)

  • DM's make stuff up me and my friends just recently started playing and Im the DM for a campaign I rote and I always do everything bye the rules because I didnt know you could bend the rules.

  • do u and all your nerdy friends have lives???

  • Mhmm

  • haha genius genius

  • hahah dropping the d-20 system that's a good one!

  • I just got back into D&D since I played when Advanced Dungeons and Dragons was still in norm, and now i got this 4th edition coming up to deal with, boy and here I thought that since cancelling Dragon as a print magazine Wizards couldn't mess things up more. Boy! do I hate the narrator of this clip.

  • WoTC are probably under a great deal of pressure from Hasbro to make D&D more profitable, since Hasbro clearly never understood that RPGs are not inherently high-return-on-investment items. So they'll work D&D over until one day it resembles HeroQuest unless someone else acquires ownership of D&D.

  • Are you kidding me? This is a waste of 4:10 minutes. This isn't a teaser. lame.

  • After 3.0, and especially 3.5, I believe D&D was slain.... Corporate Entities > Nerds.

  • Dude 3.5 is awsome its this 4.0 shit that sucks damn it d and d is a table top roleplay you dont need a fucking computer to enjoy it all you need is friends and a imagination and they fucking say americans are over weight all this is another reason for people to spend endless hours infront of a computer getting fat.

  • Great, now i have to spend more money to get the 4th Edition..... *Looks at huge pile of 3.5 books* damn...

  • Screw 4th Edition.

  • WoW, they make it look like a real evolution.

    :D moah hah hah

  • Bah, any self-respecting D&D player knows how to grapple...

I am looking forward to some of the stuff Wizards promises, but I'm not just going to plop down another $90 for three more core rulebooks lightly.

  • I like how they just brush over 3.5 like it didn't exist, which made the game fine enough.

  • god that guy is irritating. could'nt they get a guy who speaks propper english. I was frustraded with 4ed before. now i'm totaly pissed off.

  • I am flat out boycotting 4E. I've spent plenty on 3.5 and was mad enough when they went from 3.0 to 3.5. It's one thing to upgrade and have some degree of compatibility. It's another thing to tell me I need to junk all my old gear. No way, Hasbro, oh kings of selling us the same thing twice. 3.5 is gonna do me for a long time to come.

  • I don't know what to say. Their advertising plan escapes me. This reminds me of the terrible M:TG ads they used to run on TV. The French guy is annoying as all hell, just making a bad thing worse, IMHO.

  • Hah, I took a look at that with no voices and the guy reporting seemed annoying still. Well, I'm happy with my 3.5 Books, they're varied enough. And the ones I'd still maybe like won't be off the market too soon I belive. I must admit, 4th Edition seems like some effing joke. And WoTC's marketing department... They really suck it seems.

  • This video does absolutely nothing to show how the less often used rules of v3.5 will be solved. A graphic of troll heads flying? Well, how does that solve the issue of knowing how to grapple that they presented in the 2003 skit? And a laptop at the gaming table? That's advancement? Not for many gaming groups, especially my own. Personally, sounds like they're dumbing the game down to their miniature rules and then providing online tools for combat management (which really aren't needed).

  • you gotta don some fishhook armor and hug your opponent. its friendly and it gets the job done.

  • ok what to say.. well i hate having a cpu with dnd.. i just don't like it.. and hell dnd is better then any and all mmo's combined.. but nooo not 4th i don't want new rules.. i like knowing 2nd 3rd and 3.5 rules... oh well... and what they don't listen i answer questions and tell them wait to release 4.0 but nooo hopfully they will make the tarrasque mini

  • Its my understanding they are improving the rules.I am disappointed that with the introduction of eberron the new edition will make my books obsolete. I spent so much money. If the updates are software only i will be really diappointed. This is as dumb as canceling Dragon & Dungeon magazine, and making them internet only. You guys suck! Oh and by the way our group is much cooler than the closet dorks you show in the video.

  • With all the Elder Elemental Eye...<.< who saw this one coming? When 3rd edition came out it was dued to ye ole Orcus...=D

  • Just remember nothing at this point is set in stone. they are still playtesting and working out the "bugs".

  • NO MORE BARD!!! YAY!!!!

  • roofles! and meh @ the haters... 'tis a fun winter hobby

  • 4:10 that I may never get back.
