A much more statesman like message delivered by Dr Nelson, especially by comparison to his New Year Message which was patronising in my opinion. I suppose he was on holidays and didn't pack a suit for the New Year and his speech reflected it.
well Dr. Brendan Nelson as nice of a bloke you are I can asure you Australia will be a better place in 2008 than it was in 2007 now that we have a Labor government in charge
I hope that Brendon gets off to a good, calm, strong start in the big chair. I will tune in to parliament when it resumes - gee things will look so different!
Labor voters are such dumbasses! they thought all they had to do was vote for Kevin Rudd, and all their woes would disappear overnight!- petrol and grocery prices, rent, interest rates, etc., would all start coming down. Well, HULLO??? dumbass Labor voters, it doesn't work that way, lol! JH said to think long and hard before changing the govt, because if in 3 months time you decide you've got it wrong, you can't just change it back again. But you didn't listen did you!
But Labor will no doubt be popular for a while, while they're throwing money around like it's going out of style at this problem and that; decimating the nations wealth and prosperity that Howard painstakingly built up over 11.5 years in the process; until the piggy bank's finally empty, and they start scratching their heads wondering how to fill it again. Then voters will finally get to see that Labor doesn't have a clue when it comes to economic management.
But that's just the thing ... you've made a great point here! When the piggy bank is empty they return a Liberal Government and because we have to behave like parents, punishing naughty children who have raided the cookie jar, they turn on you. Liberals have no heart ... Liberals don't care about people ... boo hoo. But they expect them to get them out of the shit every time and then berate Liberals for saving their arses. I get wholeheartedly sick of hearing it.

I suppose he was just trying to 'share' the holiday mood with his fellow Aussies.
