I need a guitar with emg or black outs DAMN even with the gain at 10 (and other metal perks pertaining to the EQ) on this amp with my strat (only guitar) i can't a metal tone like. I NEED ACTIVE
Yeh to be fair any decent humbuckers will do it with the JSX, i got a Jackson RR5 with seymour duncans and it sounds great, i got a 7 string ibanez with the standard ibanez pick ups it sounds alright
but ive played a strat with lace sensor pickups through it and even that had a kick to it !
its one of the riffs out of trivium - rain pretty easy riff man !
Dude i didnt know what i was going to play it was only a demo to show my friend the tone of the amp so its a bit shit towards the my other stuff is better !
for the price of an ec-1000 you cant fault it at all and its much easier to play but theres nothing like the full bodied sound of a gibson and just the fact you own a gibson I love the LP customs but i dont have a spare 2 grand at the mo ! perks of being a student :(
yeh man i know what you mean but if i could afford it i would have 2 gibson LP's one with emgs and one without because i just love the sound from the chunkier body !

You just need a humbucker with decent output to get a metal tone with the JSX.

for the price of an ec-1000 you cant fault it at all and its much easier to play but theres nothing like the full bodied sound of a gibson and just the fact you own a gibson I love the LP customs but i dont have a spare 2 grand at the mo ! perks of being a student :(

and the fact that the ec1000 is for metal and hard rock because it has active pickups taht are more precise and more''amplified''...
i can play other style like ballad (because it has a beautiful clean sound by the way) or folk...
i think the ec1000 is more ''versatil''
and the fact that you owed a gibson is not a argument...
when you play with a guy who has a gibson and you with your ec1000 you can play the same things as him even better with distortion, who is proud ??
