@atsfft103 I grew up around many Cheyenne and Peublo who's elders spoke of a "city of savages" in the south whom killed thier own childen. The last wave of old Apaches had plenty to say back in the 70's too. I remember one of them specifically saying "in the days before the Spanish arrived". The Souix did not keep written records, but they did have chats with the aforementioned.... It would go to follow that they had some kind of awareness of the Aztecs, when they existed.

In 4th, 5th, and 6th grade, for an hour a day for second and fourth quarters we learned about American Indians, Mexican Indians, Eskimos, etc. I remember we were all absolutely fascinated with Teotihuacan. Week long field trips to learn about the local Indians... I find myself knowing more about them then they do!
