I think it would be better if there was no speaking at the beginning. People should already know to be silent and standing, and if they don't they will be shunned silently.
the difference is actually in the inherent meaning. Kremlin guards' mission is more immediate - they stand guard not only before the unknown soldier's tomb, but before the pinnacle of power and history - the Kremlin wall; and they are the Presidential regiment, they guard the sovereignty of the state. They are silent and solemn, with minimal movement. also because the sacrifice was so great that the "check" is moot. They are just THERE before the eternal fire.
Looks like a lot of postings miss the point. To hell with "who's better". These men are honoring and safekeeping a tomb dedicated to unknown fallen soldiers from wars and skirmishes. I don't care what country it is, they are doing a job that most of us can't imagine doing day in and day out. I respect them all.
The thing I like about our guards is that is all about humility. The guards are perfect without being "showy". You are floored by the simplicity and perfection. 21 steps, 21 seconds, 21 steps, 24/7. No matter what weather, thunderstorm, even hurricanes, they are still there.
@Jackofalltrades16 yeah you mean that the Boss who yells '' dont fucking move or ill kick your stupid empty head '' !!! is better??? 21 steps 21 secs 24/7 not matter how rainy foggy snowy or muddy it is ,this show how better and proffessional the russian Guard really is
@Lebnaaan USA is 10 times fuckin better, look at the precision and the intensity we have.......anyways, your guards walk like they have dicks shoved up their asses
Sorry I am a US Army Infantry vet. The Russians have this one hands down. The US exicution lacks Spirit! Also the Russians don't need an words to spoil the Solemness of the Guard mount.
Nice video. Would've been nice if you'd been closer to the inspection, that's really something to see. The Russian honor guard is impressive too, especially with how physically difficult it is to hold that heavy rifle tall in one hand like they do and take such wide steps. But I think the Americans have a much more detailed and challenging routine. I'm a Navy man myself, but I admire these soldiers and the service they render to the fallen.

Funny--people say which is better, Russia or US. It doesn't matter. Because these ceremonies are not for you. It is for those we have lost.

This is VERY impressive. Whether your American, British or Russian, you have to appreciate the uniformity and attention to detail.

@tylerhannon So am I I did two tours with the Old Guard so I'm biased. No one does it better. Even though I like the goosestep.
