Well, I'm using a POD XT actually but the patch is using a stereo square chorus and a delay, plus a 1972 Silverface amp.

Squier make decent guitars for sure, so Duey gave some 'sound' advice there for sure. Next, if I may, I would suggest a decent delay pedal and a flange to get the basic "Gilmour sound". If your amp has a decent gain for a touch of drive then you're probably ok, but if not, a mild distortion pedal for a bit of gain doesn't hurt.

The rest is up to you.

My guitar in this video is a Charvel Charvette, if you can find one, by all means buy it, they are awesome guitars! I just re-fretted mine and now it plays even better. You can find a second hand guitar like I did with the strat in my latest videos and re-fret it and put good pickups in it and turn it from a crappy guitar into a really good guitar, it all depends on how good the neck is.

@AZARTI5 _ He's got a Charvel man, thats all you need to know. If you just started playing and you stick with it you will notice that your ear for music and tones will evolve. I am still searching for my sound, I have been through at least 50 guitars and many diffrent amps, still searching. Save some money and spend at least $500-600 on a USED guitar, but take your time and play a bunch before you buy.

@AZARTI5 if you're an absolute beginner, then it's not the squier that sounds crappy. it means you need to work on your skills :) feel and tone don't come from tabs, you know? i rarely use tabs and find myself being able to make any guitar sound the way i want it to sound--a 1000 euro or a 100 euro squier, they feel different but i can make them both sound to my liking. different, sure, but not "bad" or "good".

Duey - you are right ...very sweet solo. I am always impressed by the way in which David doesn't overuse notes just to 'fill' space. It's like talking - you can ramble on and use tons of words (like an auctioneer) or you can keep it succinct and to the point which I find is much more satisfying. There are few guitarists around anymore that understand that concept.
